Snygg, modern strand stuga mycket nÀra stranden med fantastiska kustvÀgen promenader. BelÀget pÄ en populÀr surfstrand med Bigbury on Sea och Burgh Island bara 10 minuters promenad bort, i sÀsong havet bar och fisk och chip beach shack. Bara 15 min promenad till Journey's End Pub eller 10 minuter (tidvatten tillÄter) till Pilchard Inn pÄ Burgh Island.
Loftet har tvÄ sovrum, en king size dubbelsÀng med TV, garderob och eget badrum med duschkabin. En tvilling / dubbelsÀng med garderob, TV / DVD. Det finns ocksÄ en dubbel bÀddsoffa i den stora första vÄningen lounge. Familj badrum med stor dusch. Stort kök och matplats med kylskÄp, frys, diskmaskin, tvÀttmaskin, mikrovÄgsugn, gasspis och ugn. Första vÄningen stort vardagsrum, TV / DVD, med utsikt över en glasfasad sluten balkong med bord och stolar. The Loft har fördelar frÄn centralvÀrme och privat Wi Fi. Good Place

Thanks, we had a lovely few days away, peace and quiet, bar lo call and great Fish & Chips from the Fryer Tuck just down the road. Good walks from location with great views.All in all a good few days away.

The reviews and the pictures had us thinking this was going to be an amazingly comfortable luxurious house. We were honestly quite disappointed. The location is fabulous-a very short stroll to the beach. Parking for two cars was great. However, the house was not very clean-there was mould on the tiles in the showers and the grout was grotty. The floors were grubby, and not cleaned in the corners etc. under the beds and under the sofa were thick with dust. The beds were super uncomfortable-the single beds (which I think were small singles)-had mattresses that you could feel the springs digging into you and were very hard. The double was also very hard and unforgiving. Despite it being the height of summer the duvets were thick winter weight making sleeping even more difficult. There were no extra things in the kitchen like cling film/foil, and no cloths for washing the counters (only 1 dish sponge). We were visiting with two young kids, and asked if there were any beach things like buckets/spades etc, and despite owning the beach shop, the owners did not have anything like this available at the house to borrow during the stay.

Just what we were looking for!

Overall, we were very happy with our accommodation. It’s a lovely spot and so close to the beach. The cottage is well equipped and has a relaxing feel. Great hosts who made us feel welcome. Thanks, we’ll be back.

Mid-Week Break in Challaborough Bay

Lovely property in close proximity to the beach at Challaborough Bay and a short walk to Bigbury. The property was as described and overlooks the Challaborough Bay holiday park. It's great for surfing and visiting Bigbury/Burgh Island. Salcombe is a short drive and there are many National Trust places to visit. Note that the drive down to the property is a typical road to the coast (e.g. steep and narrow).

Amazing location

We have just returned from the most amazing week. The location of the house to the beach made the holiday, it is literally minutes. We spent the week on the beach as had beautiful weather. We took the SUP to the beach daily, the weather meant we had calm waters. Russel and Amanda were fantastic hosts.

Beautiful house, great location

Really enjoyed our stay. A beautifully managed home - cosy space to relax in the evening, well provisioned kitchen and good size bedrooms - and hosts very welcoming (scones on arrival!). Location fantastic for both Challaborough and Bigbury beaches. Kids loved it.

Amazing break

Just returned from 5 nights at The Loft. Brilliant location, fabulous accommodation. Less than 5 mins from the beach. Property exactly as described. Extremely clean and tidy. Owners really friendly and nice touch with the discount at the beach shop just round the bay. Lovely upstairs sitting area. Great fish and chips just off the beach. Would love to visit again.

We arrived during the best weeks weather in June . The house was lovely, beach just down the road was really nice. Plenty of excellent walks in the area. Super relaxing and Russell and Amanda are smashing.

.even on the morning we left he text to say would need to come in via a different road as the wind had cause havoc to the caravan park next door. The loft is absolutely perfect, right by the beach and beautiful walks.The kids loved it and so did we. Can’t wait to come back again

Great place to stay very close to the beach so easy to pop in and out if weather isn’t great. We had mixed weather so ment we could just go to beach when the sun came out. Nice property with all the things you require for a great stay. If you do go you must go eat at the journeys end inn it’s a great pub with very good food.

Fabulous Weekend Break!

Absolutely wonderful few days away at this property! Chris and Louise made sure our stay was one to remember. Great communication prior to the stay with a wonderful welcome pack on arrival. The apartment was extremely clean and beautifully decorated. Highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to stay close to Burgh Island. Thank you Chris and Louise for making our stay special!

A perfect retreat

The Loft is beautifully decorated, with everything you'll need for your stay. My teenage daughter was very happy with the high end mirror in the bathroom. It was clean and tidy. There are plenty of games and books to read. Fully equipped kitchen, not what everyone needs for a break away but I was able to wash my youngest daughters t-shirt (favourite t-shirt) so she could wear it everyday. The balcony was protected from the elements and was a comfy place to sit and relax. Lots of lovely walks and places to eat. Thank you

Beautifully appointed home with everything you need

We stayed at The Loft for the last week of the school holidays. The communication prior with the owners was very good and the check in process and directions were good. The house has 2 ground floor bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, as well as a very well appointed kitchen diner, including walking up liquid , dishwasher tablets and laundry detergent. Everything was beautiful with lots of attention to detail. Upstairs is a lovely lounge and balcony, there is a TV and a cupboard full of board games and another full of DVDs. It was our first time visiting Devon and the only drawback is the access roads to the beaches, including Challaborough. They are often single track with passing places. This made for some stressful driving experiences! Fortunately you have access to Challaborough beach at the end of the road or a 10-15 minute walk along the coastal path to Bigbury and Burgh Island beaches, which became our preferred one, as we ditched the car after a few days. Overall we cannot fault the house and the owners were very kind, and if you’re a confident driver then the location shouldn’t trouble you either.
