"Puanani", Hawaiian för vacker blomma, är ett familjhem i Hawaiian-stil som ligger i slutet av en lugn cul-de-sac inom gångavstånd från Hanalei Bay och stad. En stor trädgård med plumeria, hibiskus, nattblommande jasmin och en frodig trädgård med melodiska sångfåglar kan avnjutas från de främre och bakre täckta lanaierna. Huset är dekorerat med rotting- och bambusmöbler och designat med övre taktak och naturliga cederträväggar. Huset har en rymlig och bekväm känsla.

Great house and convenient location.Neighbor yelled at us one night because 6 people were talking on the lanai at 8:50 pm.Loved having the extra 1/2 bath & outside shower.Place was cute. Would rent again!

Reviewer Comments: We, a family of 4 adults, had a wonderful stay in this property in Hanalei.The house fully lived up to our expectations, the rooms are nice and spacious, and it was absolutely spotless clean when we arrived.The location close to both the beach and the town was perfect for us, and very peaceful except during working hours, where there was som noise from a building site to the back of the house. The noise didn’t bother us much, since we mostly were out and about in the daytime.The kitchen amenities were good, the bathrooms were nice and clean, and the outdoor shower was great!Overall we are very satisfied.

Nice house. Very private on a small cul-de-sac. Neighbors can be a little noisy at times -- loud conversations/music until 11pm or so isn't uncommon. But super convenient to the Lahaina main strip...easily walkable to tons of restaurants, shops, and the beach. No A/C, so you'll use the fans a lot in the summer. Kitchen has the basics, but no dishwasher.

1973 Beach Cottage Time Capsule

This property ended up becoming our home for 4 days and not just a place to sleep and plop our stuff into. The location can not be understated, the beach was 5 minutes in one direction and town was 5 minutes in the other. All you need and more is within walking distance. The property was incredibly clean and every drawer had exactly what you needed. There were plenty of towels provided and a larger main bathroom than I expected. There were also unexpected beach chairs, snorkel gear, and a beach umbrella provided in the laundry space. There was an overall sense of love and care to the space that was palpable. We can’t wait to come back. I can’t leave a review without mentioning that if you are needing a/c or a dishwasher they won’t be found here. This place is a true beach cottage from another time but that isn’t a downgrade.

Great place

Terrific location - just a short, 5-minute walk to the middle of Hanalei Bay beach.Very nice place, with much more character than a condo.Only problem was a rooster who started crowing before midnight and kept it up off and on for the rest of the night. I asked my son to get out of bed, go find it, and make us some rooster fricassee. But he wouldn't.This happened only one night out of 5. No idea why.

Great Location - Not a relaxing environment

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is lovely, in a typical Hawaiian style. It is in a great location in Hanalei - a couple blocks to the shops and the beach and has a very nice garden and deck area. The neighborhood is a bit of a challenge however owing to the complete lack of soundproofing. Quiet time is mentioned but this includes INSIDE the home too. Forget watching TV after dinner for which we were visited, yelled and swore at. I enjoyed a similar experience a couple days later (without the visit) for talking too loudly while doing the dishes at 8 20 in the evening.Bring a good book. Go to bed at 8pm. Talk to no-one for the remainder of the night and you'll be fine. It is a house I would have gladly returned to but NOT in the current environment - nor will I be encouraging friends and family to go.

Wonderful Stay

Reviewer Comments: Puanani is a great little house in a fantastic location just a couple of blocks off the Hanalei strip of shops and restaurants on a quiet cul de sac (save for the 5 AM roosters). It was perfect for our family of four (our adult children shared the room with twin beds, I and my wife slept in the master bedroom). The house has two bedrooms, two bathrooms indoors, plus an outdoor shower. The electric range was fine, even for a gas snob like myself, and there's a large gas grill. Outdoor table on the deck makes for pleasant meals. Washer/Dryer and 4 beach chairs and umbrella were on site, a nice bonus. No AC and no dishwasher, but we were never hot (in April temps peaked at around 80). If you are looking for luxury, Puanani is not for you. But if you are looking to live comfortably "like a local" for a few days in the best part of the island, I highly recommend.
