Helrenoverad 200+ år. gamla koloniala bondgård, på 40+ tunnland. Beläget på en spektakulär bit mark som inkluderar en Vermont-fjällbäck, öppet utrymme, gott om vandringsleder och några roliga och utmanande vandringsmöjligheter upp genom skogen.
Original fält sten spis i vardagsrum byggt av John Stanley c. 1800. Det modernaste köket är välfylldt och har moderna rostfria apparater: 6 brännare professionell kock gas spis, diskmaskin och mikrovågsugn, men har fortfarande den gamla världen charm med slakt block block och träbjälkar.
3 uppsättningar av franska dörrar som leder till en mysig bakre veranda med panoramautsikt.
Njut av utsikten över "baksidaen 40" medan du smuttar på ditt kaffe, lyssnar på bäcken och överväger en promenad genom skogen upp till Oscar, den näst äldsta eken i Vermont. Eller njut av ett glas vin när du tittar på solnedgången bakom berget och kanske planerar en vandring till nordvästra hörnet, där det finns en gammal post som markerar NY / VT-statens gräns. (Vår egendom stödjer upp till 800 tunnland statsskog och berg.) Hursomhelst, se till att ta dig en vila och ta andetaget med utsikt över "The Fork" på väg upp.
Vi älskar området och fastigheten så mycket att vi också köpte stugan intill. Känn dig fri att mosey över och kolla in dammen, den aktiva julgran gården och den lilla tio personer kyrkogården från tidigt 1800-tal. (Kabinen är också att hyra VRBO 745850).
Bondgården är bekvämt beläget mellan charmiga Manchester med sina fina restauranger och exklusiva designeraffärer och pittoreska, historiska Bennington. Detta är Vermont som bäst - små butiker, antikaffärer, museer, konstgallerier, utsikt över Green Mountain, god mat och 30 minuter till Bromley skidort (som förvandlas till en sommaräventyrspark).
Var och en av de två sovrummen har en ny queen size-säng och det finns en queen-size Click-Klak futon i det stora rummet (bredvid ett komplett badrum och en dörr som kan stängas av till resten av huset, vilket ger detta utrymme integriteten av en 3: e sovrum, om det behövs). Det övervåningen är ganska stort och uppdaterat, liksom första våningen.
Barnvänligt med leksaker, böcker, låg våningssäng (bottenvåningen är nästan på golvet), pack n play, barns skålar, tallrikar koppar etc.

Perfect Christmas for My 80 yr old Mom

My 80 yr old mom had not been back to Vermont since 1996, and she loved every minute of our stay here.The farmhouse is quaint and charming and only 20 mins from town. The furniture and accommodations were terrific - my mom could not make it up the stairs, but she was delighted with how comfortable the couch was!This place is a fabulous getaway, and we could not have been happier.

Lovely, peaceful Farmhouse

We loved our 3 night stay here at the farmhouse. Cozy, yet spacious with a beautiful view off he back deck. Mornings with coffee on the deck were so peaceful. We’d hear the occasional bleating of goats next door - quite the characters they are. My daughter and her friend absolutely loved the house from the second they walked in and insisted we come back next year. Kitchen had all the necessary cooking items and even some spices etc. Check in/out was a breeze. Communication was easy. Hope to return next year.

Fall foliage vacation

My sister and our husbands came from Florida to Vermont to enjoy the fall foliage. We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful farmhouse. It was quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed sitting on the back swing and looking at the views. The kitchen was well supplied. The beds were comfortable. I definitely recommend this place.

Nice, quiet property

The home itself and the property were gorgeous, our stay was easy in terms of finding the property and checking in. The host was very communicative and friendly, as were all of the people we met during our stay. The kids enjoyed running around outside and saying hello to the goats. The only downside was that the home was very dirty. There was mold in the bathroom, and the kitchen was kind of gross, most things were covered in an almost greasy film. I understand farmhouse charm, and I don’t have really high standards having kids, but I did clean any dishes we used before using them due to the grime, and we definitely left the kitchen cleaner than we found it. If you don’t mind hanging with dirt and spiders, it’s otherwise a really great place.

Amazing

Lovely home! Tranquility at it's finest! Babbling brook going through the back yard! Family enjoyed cooking meals together in a huge kitchen! Enjoyed fires in the wood burning stove! Enjoyed the scenery hiking the 45 arce property. Enjoyed interacting with the goats, chickens, and ducks next door. 9 and 11 y/o had a blast. Host of the property was very accessible to whatever we needed! Our check out day we visited historic Bennington (historic street from the revolutionary war era). I can go on and on! Thank you for sharing your home!

Love it here!

This December visit has turned into a tradition! We leave completely regenerated and ready to take on the holidays and the new year! We bopped around to different towns, hiked up the mountain and enjoyed the grounds and I cooked amazing measles in this kitchen! Thank you for everything!!

Magical Stay!

Our stay was nothing short of magical! This home was beyond our expectation! This charming property is a walk back in time to another era. The original features of the farm are beautifully intact with all the modern comforts you would expect. We enjoyed strolling around the yard, listening to the brook and taking in the sight of the mist in the mountains. This home was convenient to Bennington and the surrounding area. We loved our time here and we cannot wait to return! What a treat! Susan is a lovely host and answered our messages promptly.

Weekend getaway

The home is lovely and cozy. We were there during a deep Arctic blast but spent a lovely day by the fire with a book and watched the sun sparkle on the snow outside. Drove about 45 minutes to Mt Snow for a fantastic day of snowboarding. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Autumn getaway!

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful country home! The grounds are picturesque, complete with a porch swing, babbling stream and mountain view. The children spent most of their time exploring outside and visiting the animals next door. There were also plenty of games and toys to keep them occupied while inside. We adults enjoyed the wide variety of books in their library, and the kind of respite only enjoyed by having fully occupied children. I only wish our stay could have been longer. If you’re looking for a quiet country retreat, look no further!

Not What We Expected Based on Listing

We had high hopes for our stay. We were looking for a quiet getaway for our family of 4. We booked this property after looking at multiple listings, and thought this one fit our needs the best. Upon our arrival, we found the listing to be very inaccurate. 1. It was advertised to have a futon in the great room, that could act as a third bedroom. Futon was no longer at property, leaving us a bed/"bedroom" short. 2. Amenities showed property had A/C. Only one bedroom had a window unit - no other A/C in entire house. 3. Description stated a stream. Stream was completely dry, and based on height of weeds and plants growing in the "stream", it has been dry for some time. 4. House was not clean. Lots of dog hair, sticky counter tops in kitchen, ants/bugs in living room and in one bedroom. We actually left for a hotel, as we felt we could not stay. Owner did respond quickly when contacted, was friendly, and did comp part of our stay. But overall, we will never rent on Vrbo again. Our entire vacation revolved around a mountain home, and we unfortunately ended up at a chain hotel instead.

Beautiful setting

We loved our stay in Shaftsbury! The property offers a lot for families as does the surrounding area. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking; we also used the fire pit for grilling and s’mores, and we enjoyed watching the animals.
