Moonwalk - modern lyxvilla från mitten av århundradet på North Shore St. Croix

I (Dru) am an artist and a gardener. When I first set foot in Moonwalk, I was ready to go back to the realtor's office and write a contract without even touring the house. The design of the house is so well done, with a clean mid century modern feel that perfectly marries the outdoors in St. Croix with a very comfortable and aesthetic living space.

Moonwalk is uniquely situated on the ocean a short walk from Cane Bay and beach bars and restaurants, but far enough from them to be completely private, peaceful, and quiet. You can fall asleep at night with the breeze blowing through the windows, the sound of the waves below, and tree frogs and crickets singing along. And then wake to the sunrise with the sounds of our local parrot and sugarbirds. The view out the master bedroom and off the balcony is a postcard; we've spend many hours there watching the sun rise with coffee or watching the stars come out with a cocktail of local Cruzan rum. The north shore has little light pollution so a usual night sky is one with a diamond dust of millions of stars.
Moonwalk was built by a ship builder and the inside of the house certainly reflects this -there are recycled salt-soaked timbers through the house and it has a real mid century modern eco feel. In the front courtyard are stone salvaged from a sugar plantation as well as a large copper kettle that was used a couple hundred years ago processing sugar, and is now a water garden, home to koi and guppies.
Off the back deck and pool, the steps lead you down to the ironstone beach where there are tide polls and small sandy beaches, perfect for hunting sea glass , sea urchin shells, puka shells and driftwood. The beach is usually deserted and you can walk well down the coast.
