When you first enter the hotel, the check-in was very simple, but the hotel staffer was not pleasant at all. Few smiles to be found. The elevators usually smelled of body odor except for one day when it was obvious it was cleaned. When you step into the hallway from the elevator into the hallway to the room, it smelled as well. Maybe it's the hotel showing its age. With that said, I am rating the room as very nice and for the most part exactly as we thought it would be. We are used to a king size bed, this one felt like a full/standard size bed. Although smaller than we would have liked, it was very comfortable sleeping. There are two beds so if you don't mind sleeping separately, it might be ideal for you. The kitchen area was well stocked with small appliances (no oven). utensils and dishes. The bathroom is well stocked with towels and other visitors have left behind shampoos, etc. in case you're in a pinch. One minor issue but was annoying; the bathroom sink is extremely slow to drain (the kitchen was not) Great water pressure in the shower. The shower curtain liner could stand to be changed to a new one. This one is showing its age. The balcony is very, very narrow. It does have two bar height stools to sit facing each other with no room to spare.
There is no table to be able to place a drink/food if you wanted to enjoy some time on the balcony. One of the main reasons we liked the idea of this room was the hotel having a parking garage. When we arrived, we were greeted with notice that the parking garage is closed until further notice. Unless we missed it in prior written communications, it might have been nice to know this going in. Honestly, we might not have chosen this room for that reason. As a result, since there are few parking places directly in front of the hotel, there is a lot next door to the hotel that could be used but is shared with at least one other hotel. One night we were forced to park across the street in the Publix shopping center lot where there is a designated, but not secured area for hotel guests. This made us uncomfortable as you also had to walk across the street, at night, amidst noticeable homeless people, in the rain.
