Briar är en ombyggd tomtbyggd byggnad som ingår i en Grade II-lada som sitter i hjärtat av en lantgård. Fälten framför sluttar ner till floden Ecclesbourne som är ett särskilt landskapsområde full av naturligt vilda djur. Från den främre porten ger en allmän rättighet tillträde till en landsbygd som är fullsatt med vandringsleder för att njuta av. En västläge gräsmatta framför den magnifika ladugården kan användas för att sitta, koppla av och njuta av utsikten mot kvällssolen. The Briar är idealiskt beläget för tillgång till Peak District och många andra attraktioner, Chatsworth House är mindre än en timme bort, Derby stad kan nås på 20 minuter. En butik ligger inom gångavstånd och en restaurang pub mindre ��n 2 miles. Det finns gott om parkering på ägarnas enhet.

A perfect little getaway for me and my dog.

A perfect little getaway for me and my dog. Location was beautiful and quiet and the courtyard garden safe and enclosed for the dog. The cottage is well equipped and clean. The hosts are lovely and friendly and recommended places to walk in the area. Would definitely return again!

Just amazing! We loved everything about it.

Just amazing! We loved everything about it. What a beautiful little place in such a stunning location. It had everything we needed and was very well maintained. Pauline and Michael were just so welcoming and friendly. There were so many stunning places to visit all within 10-20 minutes away, we couldn't fit it all in our week! We really didn't want to leave and will definitely be returning.

It felt just right

From the moment of arriving, it felt right. It was very welcoming and homely. You were in the middle of the country yet never too far from some great places to visit. The only sad thing was having to leave. We will most certainly be back. The hosts were also lovely friendly people. Always so helpful if needed.

We loved it here, and want to come back another time and stay longer, the cottage is cozy but well equipped, would be lovely in the summer too when you can have the doors open and sit outside outside to eat. The cottage was very clean and owners very friendly and genuinely wanted their guests to enjoy their stay. The location is ideal to visit places such as Matlock or Bakewell. Lovely cottage set in beautiful countryside and friendly owners however two issues. No washing machine a big downside also difficult for elderly and tall people. Yes it was stated low ceilings however upstairs it was impossible to stand upright without ducking bedroom badly designed.

We had a great time at this cottage in an ideal location. The only reason I didn't give 10 all round was the fact that we were not made aware that the accommodation had 2 flights of stairs,unexpected for a small cottage and very awkward for elderly people. Shame.

Excellent cosy barn conversion stopped for two nights plenty of places to visit during the day then in the evening it was very comfortable to chill out. Patio door overlooking lovely views, even when it rained you can keep it open and still appreciate the fresh air.

I was very impressed with the location , the views were amazing , the horses and livestock enhanced

I was very impressed with the location , the views were amazing , the horses and livestock enhanced the view. The owner offered initial information , and then i was left alone to thoroughly enjoy the Dales. The Cottage was warm even at night , very quiet & peaceful. I have recommended the Briar to my sisters , and would hope to book it again later on in the year

The only reason local amenities were a 9 is because there isnt really anything around other than a pub and a local shop but the reason we went was to be secluded so it wasnt a problem and we took shopping with us. Would definitely stay again.
