Lyrebird Studio i Watagans

Lyrebird Studio i Watagans är en avskild reträtt på en lantlig fastighet på över 40 hektar i utkanten av Watagan Mountains, 1. 5 timmar norr från Sydney och 15 minuter från Cessnock så att du kan komma undan från teknik och varva ner, lyssna på vind i träden och observera den lokala fågeln och djurlivet.

Den enda tweeting du kommer att höra kommer från de lokala fåglarna, inklusive lyrebirds, kungpapegojor, svarta kakaduer och många andra arter. Vi har två stora wedgetail örn bo upp på berget och du kan ofta se dem sväva i uppdateringen de är en syn att se!

Se upp när wombat (wallabies och kängurur) kommer ner för att bete i de omgivande hagen de flesta dagar. På natten, wombats komma ut för att mata och den lokala possum befolkningen ibland hålla en bullrig sammankomst i busken!

Bekvämligheterna inkluderar luftkonditionering, ett kompakt kök och vardagsrum med bekväma soffor och antika möbler. En kakelugn ökar spisen till stämningen under de kallare månaderna. Enjoyed Our Stay

This is an excellent setting in rurual bushland with heaps of kangaroos. If you want a peaceful holiday then this is for you!

Excellent place to stay

We had a relaxing time away. The property was beautiful. The bed was so comfortable. This place was a great place to escape from the city. It was also a great place for our two dogs to run around & play. We will definitely stay again.

Beautiful bird song

what a relaxing stay in the cozy quirky cottage. Peter kept us well stocked with firewood to keep the pot belly stove hot all weekend. So many beautiful trees and birds. Plus the sound of the lyrebirds as promised.

Purpose fit for a self catering weekend relaxed getaway. Close to wineries and Hunter attractions. The hosts are the shining star of the accomodation. The hosts were fantastic, welcoming and so accomodating. Will gladly return next time in the Hunter. Thankyou for sharing your property with us.

Overnight stay

The property was thick with the smell of cigarettes. We had to sleep with doors and windows open. Artist in attached studio had been smoking. Disappointed.

Great Hunter Valley cabin

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the remote cabin. It is very spacious and has all amenities. WiFi was patchy, but I was not expecting any reception or internet at all. Kitchen with all appliances you may need.

Enjoy the Surroundings

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was quiet and set in bushland like we wanted however we were unaware the owners of the property were on the same land and their home sits less than 20 metres from and looks down onto the studio. Although they were lovely and very helpful it was not exactly the private escape we wanted for our anniversary.

HI,The villa was a very comfortable stay.There was only one dishwasher tablet for our 3 night stay which was a shame, and one of the balcony doors was unable to be locked and the toaster was broken. The condiments which were supposed to be provided were very minimal also (we ran out of tea, coffee & sugar after one breakfast - there was 5 of us staying there)The beds were extreemly comfortable, everything was easy to use.I would recommend this place to anyone who wanted to get around the Hunter Valley, it was located centrally, and it was really easy to find.

Beautiful property, stunning location

My partner and I booked Lyrebird Studio for a mid-week 2 day stay. The location was ideal - it was remote enough to get away from it all (we didn't have much phone reception, which was lovely!), yet still close enough to Cessnock so that we were able to spend a day visiting family-owned vineyards only a short 10-20 minute drive away. Peter met us on arrival and was very welcoming, showing us round the property and he kindly gave us a recommendation on where to have dinner (The Royal Oak Hotel, which had lovely food). The property was very clean, well kept and had a lovely homely feel. We were supplied with everything we could possibly need for our stay. Peter and Di were kind enough to tell us not to rush with our check out, as no guests were checking in the following day - we did not hesitate and asked to extend our stay by another night - we really did not want to leave :) I have already recommended Lyrebird Studio to my friends and family and we will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you Peter & Di for providing us with a lovely break.

Great location, peaceful, relaxing, would go again

This is a great location, away from the busyness of the wineries area, but still convenient to them all. The place is very clean and well looked after. A great host, very welcoming and keen to show you around. Would visit again for sure.

Exceeded expectations - a wonderful getaway

Tucked away in a beautiful location, this studio met all expectations and then some. Clean and cosy. I am already missing the birdsong and the roaring fire. Wonderful hosts were very welcoming.

Peaceful weekend in a charming property

We had a wonderful time escaping the city listening to the cicadas and enjoying Peter’s stories. The lyrebird studio is a cosy place and very clean. We will recommend this lovely spot to all our friends.

Perfect little getaway!

My partner and I stayed for a few nights in winter and it was quiet, relaxing and absolutely beautiful! Loved the history of the house and the owners are extremely accomodating. Heated blankets, board games and endless DVDs to choose from was just what we needed!
