Geode stay

We enjoyed our stay. The beds were very comfortable. My son slept in the office. He liked the privacy but he said the middle of the bed sunk a few inches away from the wall so he didn’t sleep well. We didn’t know if it was a folding bed that might not have locked the whole way or not. Other than that, he liked it a lot. Didn’t take long to get to the caverns. Very enjoyable trip!

Girlfriend getaway

Great location for 4 girlfriends to explore Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe National Park. Host was very quick to respond to questions and book our stay

Extremely Disappointed

Until this stay I was a very satisfied VRBO user. I do not appreciate property photos with filters that make home look as bright and fresh as a new home when the “vintage” home does not come close to the pics provided.

This house was so cute, and it was perfect for our stay! Everything was clean and there were a ton of extra touches that made the stay even better. I would definitely recommend this house!

Great Stay in Carlsbad

Loved staying at the Geode. Plenty of space to spread out. Comfy couches in the evening helped us relax after hikes.

Geode review

The house was decorated so cute! It looked exactly as pics. Very clean. Only drawback was backyard isn’t one to sit outside and enjoy and don’t walk barefoot as your feet will be covered in thorns . Host was very responsive and accommodating. I’d definitely recommend the Geode, the location is great for exploring Carlsbad and Guadalupe Mountains National Parks.

Geode House was a great choice.

We loved the decor, the appliances worked great, although, I wished I would have known there was WiFi. The listed said no WiFi. The carport was greatly appreciated during the thunderstorm. It was a good location for our needs. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

Not in a safe neighborhood.

The owner was extremely responsive,mand the property inside was immaculate. The neighborhood was so bad, the house next door was literally a shack, and the neighborhood was not at all safe. If the home were in a better area, it would be great. Our young daughter, and her two young children (4 and 6) did not feel safe even driving up to the home. We did NOT stay there, but had to forfeit the rent and fees. VRBO needs to qualify locations better and include outside photos. This is my second unpleasant stay in 6 weeks.

Warm and cozy

Exactly as described, this house is a work in progress but super warm and cozy. Comfy beds. Keep up the good work - super cute! Much bigger than expected - huge bedrooms.

I'm a mom of 2 boys ages 3 & 5, and married to a really cool guy. We love to travel and also to stay home. I work full time as a hydrologist and in my (rare) free time I enjoy reading, baking and a little self-care (mostly doing my nails). We have lived in California and Arizona, but we moved to Carlsbad for my husband's job and it has been a really wonderful place for us. We love the river, the caverns, the weather, and the people here!

Varför värden valde detta boende

We bought and fixed up and furnished this house while working full time and managing our other rental (the Cabbage). It had been sitting empty for about 8 years and needed a lot of work, but I was attracted to the original details- crown moulding, bathroom tile, kitchen sink, metal cabinets, and wood flooring under the carpet. We fixed it up through an extensive renovation that took about 6 months, and tried to keep the things that made the house special. The geode is my favorite house, honestly more than the one I live in (probably partially because it is professionally cleaned and well organized, while my personal home is overrun with toy cars and playdough). I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
