Ta dig tid att njuta av en sval skog, fÄgelsÄng, grodor och 10 minuters promenad ner pÄ en lugn vÀg till Ligar Bays gyllene sand.

Woody Mamaku Retreat Àr ett unikt och livligt boende inomhus och utomhus i utkanten av avskild kanuka-skog.
Kabinen Àr en ca. 1950 stÄlugnkontrollrum fodrad i vacker cypress frÄn lokalt odlade trÀd med utsikt genom en park som instÀllning till viken och dÀrefter. Detta bekvÀma rum med dubbelsÀng Àr anslutet till ett litet soligt frÀmre dÀck och en halvtÀckt bakre veranda kök och badrum med separat komposttoalett 5 meter uppför stigen. Byggt i lokalt makrocarpa-virke har hytten en naturlig woody karaktÀr.
Det Àr utanför nÀtet, gas och solenergi med 4min eco duschar för att spara kÀllvatten. Det finns mycket begrÀnsad mobiltelefontÀckning i kabinen men Àr bra pÄ stranden.

                            5 minuter till Tarakohe hamn och klippklÀttring klippor.
                            7 minuter till Pohara kaféer och barer.
                           15 minuter till Takaka township
                           10 - 15 minuter till Abel Tasman-banan och Wainui Falls.

Perfect and calm retreat

This place was lovely! The perfect option if you are looking for a calm place to have a relaxing time. We loved the outdoor kitchen and the outdoor shower. The view from just the bed was awesome!

Relaxing spot in the best location

The best spot to relax in, love Ligar Bay and Tata Beach just around the corner. Comfy bed and wonderful view. John and Pene were lovely. Would stay here again absolutely!

I loved the fact it was run on solar and gas..the bed was super comfy and the tranquillity of the place was exactly what i needed...having native bird life walking around on the deck was a treat...views of the ocean in the distance while laying on bed..teerrific...thanks team

Idyllic little retreat

We loved our stay here. The cabin is nestled in nature, surrounded by birdsong and has a lovely view of the sea. It's the perfect place to switch off and relax. The outdoor shower was a particular highlight. John and Pene were good hosts - it was nice to have the cabin refreshed halfway through our stay. Strongly recommended.

Quirky cabin oasis

We loved our time here just wish we could've stayed longer, will definitely be back one day. We enjoyed swimming at the beach at Ligar Bay and Tata beach, Wainui Falls walk and a pub dinner in Pohara. Handy location and a very quirky wee cabin with everything we needed to enjoy a getaway.

Lovely cabin stay

We loved our stay. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The attached undercover kitchen was clean and well-equipped, and the outdoor shower was a fun novelty. The cabin is bounded by native bush with abundant birdlife, and the surrounds are very peaceful. Only a 10 min walk to the beach. John was a helpful and responsive host. We look forward to returning.

Perfect getaway

We had a wonderful stay at the woody retreat. Heard frogs, and even some kiwi’s at night. Beautiful views and a fully equipt kitchen. Definitely will come back when in the Golden Bay!
