I booked this 2-bedroom condo on the beach expecting it to match the photos, but the reality was very different. The "resort" is dated, and the pool looks more like a public pool with block walls. When I arrived, check-in was supposed to be at 4pm, but the front desk clerk gave me the keys early at 3pm. When I went to the unit, it was in complete disarrayâcleaning supplies everywhere, beds unmade, and the place was dirty.I left and returned at 5:30pm, but it was still not cleaned. When I called the owner, he claimed he didnât know I was coming (despite my reservation being made weeks in advance). He told me to come back in two more hours and only offered 50% off the first night as compensation. That was unacceptableâI asked for at least one full night free, but he refused.When I told him I wanted to cancel, he said I had to call VRBO directly. While I was on the phone with customer service to confirm my refund, he called me back and left a voicemail saying he had security on the way and that I needed to vacate the property. Shortly after, security actually showed up. Thankfully, the officer was understanding and allowed me to finish confirming my refund with VRBO before leaving.The owner was not only rude, but also incompetent and irresponsibleâhe clearly doesnât know how to run a short-term rental. He even gave me a 1-star review as a guestâeven though I didnât even stay there! There was no reason to leave any rating at all, let alone a poor one. Go elsewhere to stay!
