We enjoyed the property. There were 20 of us, 3 generations. We played games on the big lawn and biked the trail. We had plenty of beds.However, other rentals we have enjoyed we're more generous in supplies. We had to buy toilet paper and paper towels. The coffee pot didn't work, the electric griddle had no cord, we had to do laundry to provide clean washcloths and hand towels.

Beautiful Black Hills Cabin

We brought a group of 8th graders for a Spring Break Trip. We enjoyed the quietness of the setting. Beautiful area. Lovely spacious home.

Misleading Listing - AC Situation Unacceptable for the PriceWe recently stayed at this cabin in Hill City and had mixed feelings about the experience. on the positive side, the cabin was a great size for our group, the beds were good, and the location was ideal - close to attractions and a peaceful location. However, we were disappointed by the misleading description regarding air conditioning. The listing stated the cabin had A/C, but in reality, there were only two window units. One in the loft and one in the kitchen area. The bedrooms had no air conditioning at all, and we couldn't even close the bedroom doors at night for privacy without them becoming so hot that you could not stay in the room, it was hot enough with the door open. The lower level of the cabin had no AC whatsoever, making it extremely uncomfortable for anyone sleeping down there. There were not ceiling fans in all of the rooms. The basement also was super humid and had a musty smell. Everyone in our group which included small children had difficulty sleeping due to the heat and it really effected the quality of our stay and vacation as everyone was exhausted from limited sleep due to the heat. Temps were 85. For the price we paid, we expected much better. The listing should clearly state that there is no central air and that only limited window units are available. Had we known this, we would have chosen a different property.

Great place for our reunion. Overall the property is great. An issue with the oven, but it was resolved. The yard area in front of the cabin was great. The kids loved it.

4-wheeling trip

This cabin was perfect for our large group! Enough bedrooms and bathrooms and we never ran out of hot water! Enough parking for several trailers and vehicles. Close access to great trails! Highly recommend!

Awesome Stay

I planned this trip/stay as a Christmas gift to myself/husband/children/grandchildren. The home had room for 20, we only had 15, but the house was large enough for us all and space to get away, if it became to noisy. We didn't spend a whole lot of time outside, as the weather was several degrees below freezing and didn't snow, so sledding was out and being outside in general was out! The home is well stocked as to cooking utensils, pots, pans, plates, classes, coffee pot, even a crock pot! A huge frig, was a plus with 15 people. The grandkids could run in circles around the center (had a loft) and wore them out! If I could give 10 stars, I would! We hope to go back in the Summer when we can actually do something outside!

Summer time stay at Mountain View Lodge

Home was fine. Four bedrooms on main floor and four bedrooms in the lower level. The home was clean and well furnished. Owners are very nice and easy to work with. We love the black hills and have stayed in this area half a dozen times over the past 20 years. Truly beautiful setting with hills and forest. The listing indicates the home has air conditioning. We assumed this would mean central air. In reality, the home had a single unit in the loft bedroom. The remainder of the house is unairconditioned. Upon arrival, the AC was off and the home was incredibly hot. We spent the first 30 minutes looking for the AC only to realize the the unit in the loft was the sole AC for the home. The first level became incredibly hot if the doors were closed to the bedrooms. This was particularly a issue as the last two days we stayed were in the 90's. We had our grandsons with (ages 4 & 1) and trying to get them to nap during the day was next to impossible without closing them in a bedroom and it getting warm and stuffy. We had to sleep on the first floor with our doors open all night which meant when the youngest grandson awoke at 6am each morning, everyone on the first level and loft were awake. The downstairs bedrooms were our sons and their spouses were was more tolerable with the use of floor fans, but very humid. We ended up spending far too much time and effort to make sure the house stayed "comfortable" during our stay. This would be an ideal property any other time rather than the middle of summer.

Family gathering

Got married with all family under one roof. Every couple had their own bedroom and 2 couples to a bathroom. Woods well for family gatherings and on the trail system for side by side rides. Would recommend this to anyone.

3 family from Casper wy and 3 families from Nebraska. Got together all immediate family. Like space and away from hustle and bustle. Bring our own food and enjoy family and games. We had some issues and I will submit online. Great host guy that responded fast

Family Reunion

We had a 15 person family reunion. The house had lots of rooms and enough bathrooms. Unfortunately the hot tub was out of commission for our entire stay. We did have a plumbing problem and it was very promptly addressed. Lots of rooms for cars, and a driveway up to the back of the house to unload groceries/upper level suitcases was helpful. Kids loved the loft and the firepit for roasting marshmallows. Fun time was had by all.

Large family gathering

We had a group of 20 adults, teens, and children. There were plenty of beds for us all. The layout was great with basically 2 bedrooms sharing a bathroom. Kitchen was well stocked with plenty of silverware and dishes for a big family. Nice to have the dishwasher. We had plenty of dishwasher tabs. Loved having the washer and dryer on site for laundry. Linens were nice. It says that it has A/C and it does have 2 window units but no central air. It was a little stuffy over night when we closed the bedroom doors. A couple nights we were able to open the windows at night when it cooled off which really helped. The 2 window units kept it plenty cool for everyone even on the 95 degree day. Would stay here again.

Great property!

We had a group of international exchange students that had never stayed in a large cabin before. The cabin was very spacious and had enough room for the chaparones and the kids to both enjoy themselves while we were at the cabin. The kitchen was well stocked and the home was very clean. It snowed unexpectedly and Laura was great at lining up a snow removal truck for us. He did a great job and we were out having a Black Hills adventure in no time. I would definitely recommend this home for any large group or family. It is close to most of the main Hills attractions and has easy access to the highway. We will be back!

Great location, not cleaned.

I will start with it is a good setup and great location. However I was told the prior renters of the cabin left it a major mess. And they left the morning our stay was booked to start. The contact crew said sometimes they don’t have enough time to keep up the basic maintenance on the property because the quick turn around. The most unacceptable part was when we went to cook breakfast the first morning we went to grab a supplied pan to use and saw it was dirty, we moved it out of the way and found a deep pot full of old food that was left there. And when we opened the cupboards we found open and expired non refrigerated items. The house had odds and ends not working like it should, one of the down stairs doors said it was not working, one of the windows were broken to where it was a chore to get it closed after we opened it which had no note on it. All four bath room vents were covered in dirt, bathroom towel hangers were broken, storage wicker baskets were broke, the fridge was missing the face of the control panel, and the house had lights bulbs out. Also, a lot of the rooms had an odor to were we had to open the rooms to let fresh air in. The hot tub was beyond disgusting, and no matter how many times they cleaned it we weren’t able to us it. And when I reach out to the crew. It felt like I was getting the run around. I honestly think most my problems could be avoided by someone actually cleaning and not just changing the bedding. And I have yet to hear anything back.
