Välkommen till vår stuga vid havet - vårdas av fyra generationer av vår familj.
Ursprungligen byggdes på 1870-talet, utökat på 1890-talet och uppdaterades med en Kalifornien Bungalow restyle på 1920-talet, huset har nyligen renoverats och har nu moderna bekvämligheter inklusive värmepump kanaliserad centralvärme.
Koppla av på verandan och njut av utsikt över hamnen genom pohutakawa-träden eller i trädgårdsterrassens integritet. Gå över vägen till stranden och rockpools.
Wellington Airport ligger 5 minuters bilresa bort, liksom en stormarknad samt kaféer och restauranger.
Fullt utrustat kök i Bach-stil. Bredbands WiFi och internet / Freeview-tv.
Badrum med badkar i gjutjärn för avkoppling och separat dusch. Gas kontinuerligt varmt vatten.
OBS: Tariffen är för 2 personer Ytterligare gäster (inklusive barn som har upptagna sängar) debiteras $ 25 per person per natt.

Delightful!

Quiet and peaceful, this home had all the space and amenities we needed. Easy location, too. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys quirky and cozy older homes!

Beautiful old home in gorgeous location

We loved staying here - the pictures didn't do it justice. It's a beautiful home with a fascinating history - thank you to the owners for leaving the information. The location is a dream, we spent a whole day just sitting on the front porch watching the sailboats.

Wellington gem

This property was a lovely historical home with definite period flavour, that was in the perfect location. I spent several mornings sitting on the porch watching the ships go by. So peaceful and yet so close to everything.

Lovely Artist Retreat

This cottage by the sea is a charmer. The building houses several generations of original artwork. The hosts were gracious, knowledgeable about the area & so very hospitable. Sitting on the front porch with a glass of wine was sublime.

Stunning little gem

Even in a howling gail we were warm, comfortable and relaxed. Easy to all the places we 'tourist'ed. Beds are great quality. All the kitchen appliances and almost unlimited hot water your family would need.

A cosy cottage with beautiful bay outlook. Close to all we needed. Pizza delivery, taxi pickup and drop off, bus stop outside. Couldn’t get any better.

Great shoreline location

Loved this house. Very historic (and a great history provided in the check-in). Loves morning walks/runs along the waterfront (both ways). And coffee at scotch o’Rama. Would love to come back when it was summer! All in all - loved Wellington (about 10 min by car), the house, and the Women’s World Cup.

Nice Get-Away

Great spot across the road from the sea and a handy little beach for swimming, though it helped that we had nice warm sunny calm Christmas weather. The inside had lots of history and was well presented with standard facilities including dishwasher and central heating heatpump (which we didn't use on this occasion of course). Nice spots outside for coffee in the sun.

City and Beach

Exactly what we wanted. Great location, great house, great history, great furniture. Really appreciated milk in fridge and full fruit bowl. We enjoyed the city, but loved being at the beach. Would definately recommend. Thank you.

This house is more like a home. A place filled with art and personal warmth.

Character filled and full of art this home is a wonderful experience. It feels like stepping back in time. In an inspired way. For me it felt like a privilege staying here.

Charming cottage in gorgeous location

The cottage couldn’t be cuter and the garden had beautiful flowers. The accommodations were very comfortable and well-supplied with everything we needed. Our host thoughtfully left us a large bowl of lovely fresh fruit. The location, across the street from the water, was outstanding. We could cross the street to get into the water. We could sit on the front veranda and watch the ships sail in and out. We could not have chosen a better place to spend our time in Wellington.

Beautiful water view in a lovely neighborhood

We very much enjoyed our stay on the water in Karaka Bay. The house is just charming. The kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed for tea and coffee etc. The furniture was comfortable and there is plenty of room with two sitting areas. We loved the views of Karaka Bay. We were very appreciative of all the tips provided by the owners as to good eating spots etc. We enjoyed walking along the water as well. The art work and the history in the house is just so neat. This is a hidden gem well located to get into Wellington, to the Weta Workshop etc.

Even better than I'd hoped

I felt privileged to be staying in such an historic and characterful house full of art. When I got there I said to my husband, "I feel like I'm in a Katherine Mansfield story" and then later I found a book of her short stories in our bedroom. While I enjoyed being inside, equally if not better was the heavenly garden and the front porch where I could watch the interislander ferries gliding past.

What a beautiful spot

We had a stressful time previous to arriving. When got to the property, which was early, which peter was fantastic about. The stress melted away. A beautiful little spot. We had lots of friends and family who live in Wellington visit over our few days for breakfasts lunches and dinners. A lot of time spent sitting on the front porch taking in the views. We had a lovely time

A piece of history

We had a comfortable and peaceful stay in this charming bach. It is filled with art by the Higgs family and you can read more about its history in a book titled Bungalow. It's in a great location and you can watch the ferries come and go from the patio.There were only minor drawbacks. The parking space was fairly small. If you drive a larger vehicle, you will not be able to close the property gates. An outdoor BBQ would also have been a welcome addition.
