Experience the best of both worlds as you embark on waterfall hunting expeditions, indulge in the local food artisan trail, and marvel at the iconic 12 Apostles and other hidden gems the region has to offer. Afterward, unwind by the cozy campfire or bask in tranquility on the back deck, allowing yourself to disconnect from the outside world.

Immerse yourself in the tranquility of our accommodation, where you can unwind in the lounge or the main bedroom with streaming services available (subscription required) or curl up with a book from our bookshelf. Alternatively, simply admiring the breathtaking scenery!

Relax on the back deck and marvel at the sight of kangaroos and deer gracefully roaming the flats below the house. To ensure your convenience, we provide a small chest freezer, fridge, washing machine, and dryer, so you can feel at home and stay as long as you'd like.

Please note that due to the remote location, securing cleaners can be challenging. Therefore, cleaning may occur a few days prior to your arrival. Additionally, as we are nestled in a beautiful bush setting surrounded by farmland, bugs are frequent visitors. However, we do our best to minimize their presence.

No access to cupboards.

Cupboards in all the three bedrooms were locked and we could not access them. I contacted the manager and was informed that since our stay was short (2 nights) we were not supposed to get the cupboards, which I thought was a bit unusual. There were too many house rules to follow, and the flushes in toilets were setup to half- flush and would take for ever to refill, which was a bit of inconvenience. There was no high chair in the house (as it says in the listing), instead a booster seat. Apart from all these, our stay was good, location is on a hill and the property manager responded promptly.

We are Sophie and Vince and we own Highlands on the Great Ocean Road. This is Vince's old family home and we have enjoyed renovating it to create a tranquil and welcoming family holiday house! When we are not hosting guests, we are working in our 9-5s and looking after our 4 beautiful children. Life is chaotic but somehow it works.

Our home is set up to be comfortable, welcoming, tranquil and private. Unlike other properties that boast spectacular vistas, we haven't filled the space with units or alternative accommodation. When you book your stay at Highlands you have the property to yourself with no neighbours near by to see or hear. Opportunities like this are very rare these days!

You have free reign of the entire property, we just ask that you close any gates you open. Our house is nestled amidst the picturesque bush surroundings, offering breathtaking scenery. However, it's important to note that being in such natural surroundings means coexisting with the creatures that call it home. While we make every effort to minimize the presence of unwanted guests, please be aware that you may encounter some during your stay.
