Golden Sands 514 is a modern beachfront condominium. This cute and cozy studio apartment with one bath is all you need for your stay in the Golden Sands. This direct Ocean Front has everything you could ask for with a kitchen and a washer and dryer and a large wall-mounted flat screen tv. 514 is on the 5TH. The floor gives you a perfect view of the beach and the activities below. And then there is the beach and all the activities on the large Ocean Front deck. The Golden Sands also has a unique private beach area open only to Golden Sands guests. The large oceanfront deck features many
amenities like a kiddie pool, outdoor pool, lounge chairs, and a tiki bar to relax with a drink and a burger. A building registration fee is collected on arrival at the rental property.

Small but perfect for 2 people

The condo was exactly how described. Beach view was amazing. The Golden Sands is a very large building and the beach in front of the building gets very crowded and there is generally a wait for elevators but all in all it was a great experience Really nice getaway!

Nice place, good location

Overall I enjoyed the stay. The property was clean and our room was cute. I did wish we had known more info in advance about what on property wouldn't be available while we were there due to it be 'off season'. We'd looked forward to the facility tiki bar out by the beach and was part of the reason we chose it.

Needs Lots of Updates

Overall the unit was quite comfortable. I have stayed at Golden Sands many times of the years and have good and bad experiences with the units. This one was kind of in the middle. I did have to clean the fridge and bathroom before use, wash thr bathroom rug, and I had to call maintenance to fix the shower handles. I also had to call to have the screen door on the balcony fixed, but that was likely due to heavy winds while I was there. Just needed a lot of updates, such as paint, new rugs, handles on closets, etc... It's on the fifth floor so kind of noisy. Also would be great to update to digital locks to avoid having to stop at the rental agency for keys.

Overall, good stay

The room itself could've been a bit cleaner...but wasn't horrible. Golden Sands was clean and a great time. We had our 8 month old and was a bit disappointed to find no swim diapers were allowed in the big pool or the indoor pool, so he could only go in the little 1ft kiddie pool, so we couldn't actually swim with him. Which, I can understand, just didn't expect it so was bummed. For the room/owner, I thought it was a bit odd we had to take our garbage to the dumpster and strip all the linens/pack up towels. I always make sure to leave our hotel rooms in decent shape (wipe down counters, etc), but the pressure of this was a bit overwhelming....afraid I'd forget to do something and be charged a cleaning fee. I felt it was a bit expensive for having only 1 towel each for a week... no toiletries/dish or hand soap, etc...having to make the bed ourselves upon arrival and strip the bed after/do most of the clean up work...and something tells me the pillow shams and bed cover are not washed between rentals as we were advised to make sure it was made back up before we left, as we found it. Maybe this is all normal...I only have rented rooms directly from hotels, never an outside owner/agency.

Disappointed

Woman at check in was LESS than helpfull! We had to wait half an hour for an elevator to go up to our room. Greeted with a broken storm door. Bed area was as described. Windows were filthy, inside AND out. Couch was old and covered with a sheet. Kitchen was basic. Stove burners were rusted and knobs were loose. Garbage disposal didnt work. Bathroom sink was ok. Shower was old and disgusting- the inserts to keep the water from draining outside the tub didnt stop water from leaking. Bathroom vent didnt help at all with moisture, even when left on constantly. No broom was provided, just a swifter with no pads... The thermostat has been replaced recently from a round to a square one- the paint hasn't been fixed. Come on! Outside of the room - the premises were dirty constantly. Garbage wasnt picked up from one day to the next in the beach area outside the Tiki Bar. Plaster and garbage were throughout the hallways and in the elevator areas. The walls were all dirty with handprints/ dirt/ SOMETHING! We learned after the first evening NOT to take the stairs even IF the elevator takes forever. The stairwell smelled like someyhing had DIED in it! Both of them! The loungers and chairs look like they havent been washed since they were purcgased in the 80s!

The building is older and could use some updating but the amenities are great. The unit itself is fine, had everything we needed. The bathroom is a bit small.

Perfect getaway

We just wanted something small on the beach and this was MORE than we expected. The bed being right next to the balcony door was HEAVEN. We fell asleep to the sound of the ocean every night. The only negative was the elevator service...they need WAY more elevators to handle the traffic.

Great Beach Location!

Pros: Location was great - family oriented, chill vibe. Great pool deck with beach bar, and DJ nightly for entertaining kids. Beach access was great. Room was as expected. Awesome view. Easy access. Washing machine & dryer are a luxury in rentals, so it was fantastic to be able to use during trip. Kitchen well stocked with coffee! Check in was easy at the property management. Got a text saying our room was ready 3+ hours prior to us getting onsite. Was surprised to hear upon check-in there was a $40.00 parking fee for our stay. However, would not have known there are carts for loading/unloading of bags, etc. if did not pay fee AT THE CONDO. You must register your car and you will get an assigned spot # for the duration of your stay. Cons: - Surprise $40 parking Fee. Wish owners would have mentioned that in fee description. Happy to pay. Just irritated you are basically forced into forking over the cash. -This is a huge condo building, with amenities for owners. Owners SHOULD have a booklet of information relative to what the location. None was available. Information that would have been good to know upon check in: - There are garbage chutes at every floor (we asked) - Information about activities, pool deck, pool hours - there was an indoor pool at the top of the facility, AND a (small but useable) gym - but if you don't explore, you don't know! - I belive upon check in you can pull around to the garage and unload rather than drag the carts across the parking lot. -WIFI password - this was located in 10pt text on the back of your check in information. Come on - how hard is it to put a piece of paper up on the fridge with that information? Perhaps the most irritating thing we dealt with on our stay (and mind you-everything WAS great) The huge television - which was CHILD LOCKED for programming AND did not have streaming services (disney+, hulu, showtime,) already loaded on the television. My advice to owners - take the child lock of the telly and load on these streaming services. We WERE able to login to netflix - but with so many other options -better to have that ready for guests. The only other odd item was that we did not order linen package and yet upon check in we found linens delivered to our door. We did not use them as I am unfamiliar with the process, but it just exacerbated my irritation of the 40.00 parking permit. If possible during summer avoid the Saturday/Sunday check-in process - midweek is fast & easy!

Property is pretty much as advertised. Bathroom could be updated. Towels/linens are supplied, but you will want to bring some towels/washcloths along because they give you one set per person and we had to wash them each day.

We were not happy with the accommodations. I question if the bed was a queen size bed. The unit could have been cleaner and the two rugs in the bathroom were dirty and there was a dirty towel left in the closet and a blanket which was also dirty. It was very hectic trying to get an elevator. Average wait was 20 minutes. We tried to get a air mattress but the connector was incorrect, so we couldn't use it the second night. The rental office finally came and Sean was very helpful. I had to rent sheets for the bed. The entrance door and windows were very dirty. We would never rent and stay at this condo again. Very disappointing for the large amount of money we paid.

Great Room and View, Congested Lobby

The 5th-floor studio itself is comfortable, clean, with great ocean view. We enjoyed our room and its convenience to the beach. The check in/out process went smoothly even though you will have to pick up/drop off the keys about 1 mile from the room/studio. The lobby is rather congested with slow elevators.

Small but comfy

I went through vrbo and did everything online. I emailed the owner about what the apt. had and what we needed to bring but there was was no response by I couldn’t get back into my vrbo account. The information from the property manager answered our questions though and we brought what we needed.
