Who doesn't love Ocean Dunes, with it's full compliment of recreational activities and decks fronting right on the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. You will want to come back every summer to "Surfrider", a first floor two bedroom and two bath condo with amazing views. Located at the south end of the Ocean Dunes, this condo is oceanfront AND very close by to the wonderful Recreation Center with all of the amenities that will keep the kids busy and your heart healthy.

At "Surfrider" there is a King bed in the ocean side bedroom with en suite bathroom and direct access to the expansive deck. The street side bedroom has a full bed and a twin bed, and it is located beside a full bath. The sleeper sofa is located in the living room. The kitchen is efficiently designed and nicely equipped for meal prep and dinner time. There is a round dining table with seating for four and two barstools close by so everyone can enjoy the lively conversation or a few fish tales. The dining area flows into the den, which leads you outside to enjoy the sounds of the surf and plenty of seating/dining areas.

Ocean Dunes is an ideal year-round vacation spot for families! Located at the southern end of Pleasure Island, in Kure Beach next to Historic Fort Fisher, Ocean Dunes occupies one mile of beachfront with several private beach walkways. Included with your reservation is access to all the amenities Ocean Dunes offers, as well as the Recreation Center. Amenities include three outdoor pools, a children's playground, tennis courts, a basketball court and a shuffleboard court. The Recreation Center has an indoor pool, whirlpool/spa, gym, saunas, and showers. For Recreation Center Hours and Information, call 910.239.1370.

Don't forget to plan a visit to Fort Fisher, the NC Aquarium, or take the ferry over to Southport for a lovely stroll. Enjoy fishing from the Kure Beach pier, or dinner at some of our most famous restaurants. Take the family up to Carolina Beach for Thursday night fireworks, or Sunday movies, or just enjoy one of the oldest Boardwalk's on the East Coast. Rocky stay

Being right at the waters edge was breathtaking and we got to witness sea turtles hatch right off our balcony at dusk. The furniture could use some updating but it wasn’t a problem. The only reason we would not rent here again is because of all the large jagged rocks in and around the water. My husband and friend love to body surf and they were bloody and bruised by the time we left so I wouldn’t consider it to be a good place to swim.

Week at the beach

The location was great!! You are right on the beach and away from the restaurants so not crowded. Restaurants are 10 to 15 minute drive to Kure Beach Pier and Carolina Beach respectively. Property needs new flooring in the bedrooms and bunk bed mattresses were not comfortable.

Great Location / Needs some updating

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Great location and great access to the beach. The apartment could use some refreshing : Pots/pans mismatched - mismatch of silverware, Curtains/Carpet are worn and could use replacing - Also perhaps update the dining room table.

Clean with spectacular views

We absolutely loved our stay! The condo was clean and the views from the deck were amazing. We did have to reach out to the property manager after hours regarding an issue with the refrigerator and garbage disposal. Jason came to the rescue and fixed everything so quickly for a late night call on our first evening! As I understood it, he had to drive quite a ways to get to us since he generally served the Wrightsville beach area. But we were so grateful for his help and he was so kind! Would definitely stay here again.

Not bad

Great view and location, most amenities were good and worked. We couldn't get the TVs to work. The carpet was pretty gross and since we had a little one with us who spends a lot of time on the ground that wasn't ideal. The room smelled like cigarettes too. The unit was very bare bones, not much thought is put into it compared to other stays. The beds had very thin blankets, there's no extra soap, complimentary shampoo/conditioner, laundry soap, etc. For the size, it was more affordable so i suppose I expected it wouldn't be top notch but still would have been nice for it to feel a little cleaner. Great location and view though and the king bed was comfy!

Great Location — Great Price — Needs TLC

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at 2113A Surfrider. The location and views were outstanding and the deck space comfortable and inviting. The oven, microwave, and dishwasher were new and all appliances worked well. The furniture was budget grade, but comfortable. The surfaces were clean. I would stay there again, but recommend a good cleaning of all walls because they were scuffed and had finger prints in several places and looked dingy (maybe end of season and many kids?); replacing the rusted out medicine cabinet in the 2nd bathroom as well as the towel rack, which fell down and proved to be unusable; replacing the master bedroom curtains which were very shabby/dirty, tacking down the round carpet under the dining table as it rolls up and is a trip hazard; replacing the AC vent filter which was grossly dirty — way overdue; generally cleanup/replace some of the rusted grates and fixtures; and a guide on how to use the tv would be super helpful (there doesn’t seem to be cable, be prepared to use your Hulu and Netflix accounts for entertainment). The internet is slow. The tennis courts at the rec center are rough, though there are two nice ones at the park in Kure Beach and at Carolina Beach, too, not far away. Be prepared and don’t bring your Hummer — the parking for two is tandem and tight. A little TLC and paint would go a long way to spiff this place up. If you need luxury or updated fashionable decor, this place is not for you. If you have kids and don’t want to worry about breaking expensive things, this place is for you. And, the best, if you don’t mind budget quality (but comfortable) furnishings and decor, the location is totally worth the stay for the price. We loved it and will go back.

Beautiful beach but this unit needs work

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a wonderful location. The rental needs some updates regarding electrical and windows. Maintenance spent a great deal of time in our unit repairing lighting and ceiling fan issues. Anything we plugged in the outlets would become hot or spark when unplugging which was concerning. There was also an issue with the front kitchen window not closing. Sheet sets that were delivered to the unit were the wrong size. Additionally, the elevator was filthy. It was loaded with trash the entire week. This was problematic since we had a disabled person with our group requiring use of the elevator regularly. This all being said, any issues brought to the management company's attention were immediately taken care of. They were attentive, polite and prompt. We had a wonderful vacation but were disappointed with the unit.

Quick Getaway

Quick and easy check-in. Clean property. Ocean front with access to multiple pools. The few days we were there it was very private with no crowds. Communication was great with agent. Will definitely consider booking again for future trips.
