Country Mountain Getaway

It was the perfect getaway location. Just a few minutes/miles from great restaurants and the reason for our visit to the area (2024 Bigfoot Festival).

Peaceful stay

The property was beautifully maintained and surrounding area is beautiful and peaceful. The home included everything needed for a great stay. Host is accommodating. Home is clean, comfortable and quiet. Close to hwy 221.

Perfect get a-way

This was a perfect cottage get-a-way in every sense. The decor has so much thought put into it! If your having writers block it, need R & R or a romantic place to go/ book this cottage. I agree why people book it again and again .

Cutest Cottage!

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Leah with a warm helpful smile!! The house was perfect and clean as a whistle!! Very cozy, comfortable and relaxing. I loved sitting on the swing on the screen porch in the mornings. I have nothing but wonderful things to say and we will definitely be back!!

Gem in the country

I can’t say enough about this cabin. I wanted to take my daughter on a vacation that would be different from the usual beach trip and the cabin, owner and area didn’t disappoint. We did so many interesting things and the location of the property made it convenient to reach all our destinations. The cabin’s decor and cleanliness was quant and comfortable and had everything we needed to include some nice extras from the owner. I literally only needed my shampoo and soap. We will definitely be back in the future. Highly recommend!

Served our purpose

Went to NC to leaf peep. The location worked out because we were chasing foliage. This place is tiny! It worked for our family of four but breakfast was a challenge due to lack of counter space/seating. You are also expected to tidy up at checkout; put towels in washer and remove sheets from beds even though there is a cleaning fee. Price was reasonable otherwise

Country Gem

This will be my second review as I reserved on VRBO and did one there. I can’t say enough about this cabin. We loved the decor and and the way you felt right at home when you walked in. The owner is always readily available, and one of the friendliest people I’ve met. The cabin literally has everything you need. I only had to bring my soap and shampoo. Grocery stores are close and a Dollar General 2 minutes away. We went to do some gold prospecting at Thermal City Gold mine, sight seeing at Lake Lure and Chimney Rock Park and Mount Mitchell. So convenient to all. Lastly and most important, you can’t beat the pricing! We’ll be back for sure!

Quiet and Cozy in Union Mills

Came down for an event and found this cottage near the venue - lucked out with it being available and we were very happy to have snatched it up. Cozy and cute - within 5 minutes of where we needed to be - and about 20 minutes to either Marion or Spindale/Rutherfordton. Kitchen was pretty well stocked for the size (think apartment size stove/fridge/space) but we found most everything we could need. Plenty of towels and toiletries provided (as well as extra blankets). The screened in porch was nice to enjoy some coffee and watch the birds and squirrels in the morning. We did not utilize the pool, but that's a nice addition to have. You can tell the hostess puts thought into the amenities and making for a cozy stay. Also, very responsive and easy to communicate with - both the hostess and Evolve.All in all - nice little cottage to get away from it all, but still be close to amenities if you need them. We already are looking forward to coming back to visit again!

Inaccurate information

I have a lot to say about my stay in this place but I will only refer to the most important in my opinion: CONS: 1) The owner does not comply with the "no smoking" policy as described in the amenities. I chose this place because the policy says "no smoking". I don't smoke and it bothers me a lot to smell cigarette smoke. The porch is completely impregnated with the smell of cigarettes. My daughter and I were not able to enjoy the porch. To say that it is a non-smoking place is false advertising. 2) The bed (masterbroom) is high and the mattress is hard. The pillowcases (master and guest bedrooms) appear to have not been washed. It does not smell good. It smells like grease. Having clean sheets and appropriate mattresses is the best thing any lodging should have. 3) I had to put the large rug in the main bedroom between the kitchen and the living room because my daughter and I stumbled several times on a gap between the two rooms, thus avoiding any regrettable accident. 4) Outside in the parking lot it is very dark. Lights should be put up so that no one can trip at night. This is a real drawback. Without light, anyone can slip down the stairs and have an accident. PROS: 1) Good location. 2) Nice place, very good decoration. 3) Clean. 4) The mattress of the guest bed is very soft, I really liked it.

Great Getaway!

I loved the cleanliness of the property and how small and quaint it was. It is located close to Rutherfordton and Forest City. While the owners live on the property-we never saw them-they give you privacy. The home was stocked with everything you would need. The only thing I would suggest is designated parking-we were confused about where to park....and more lighting at the back-especially the walkway. Thankfully I used my phoneś flashlight!!! A firepit would be nice too!!! I would definitely not hesitate to return to this property!

What an amazing cottage, the decor was brilliant! Very clean, all the amenities you could ask for.

The host was so friendly and helpful. This was one of the coolest places I've ever stayed.

If paradise were a cottage

Let me say, the owner did a great job decorating. She was very accommodating and the cottage was stocked with lots of useful things. The extras here were very convenient with myself and my boyfriend only being in town for 3 days. There was a garden that we were offered to pick from complementary, and I have to say the veggies were all great! My only regret is that I had to rush out and forgot to leave a tip. Overall I would say this is a must for a romantic get away or some time to yourself.
