A charming townhouse nestled on wooded grounds with soaring pine trees, Gold Bend Getaway is a family-friendly retreat just 5 minutes from Northstar California Resort on the free shuttle route.

Styled in modern mountain décor, the home offers spectacular views of the Sierra Nevada. The spacious living room features a plush sofa and two additional chairs and opens onto an 8-seat dining area and galley kitchen inviting cozy nights in after a day of skiing, hiking or golf.

On blue-bird days, step out onto the balcony to soak up views of the mountains. A modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a farmhouse sink ensures you’ll have everything you need for home-cooked meals.

Please be advised that this home does not have air conditioning.

Ideal for families or multiple couples, this 3-bedroom home features a queen sized bed in the primary bedroom, a queen in the second bedroom, a set of twin beds in the third bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room comfortably sleeping 8 guests.

Guests of Bedrooms 2-3 have a shared full bath with tub/shower combo while guests of the Primary have a full bath with tub/shower combo. A private washer and dryer keeps ski clothes toasty for first tracks in the morning and summer gear clean for new adventures.

As a guest of the Gold Bend condo development, you’ll enjoy access to Northstar Resort amenities, including a summer-use swimming pool, spa, fitness center, and tennis. You’ll also be steps from the free resort shuttle, taking you directly to Northstar for skiing and snowboarding in the winter, and miles of lift-served hiking and biking trails in the summer.

On-site parking allows you to explore the surrounding area, including golf courses, restaurants, shopping and even the town of Truckee, a 20-minute drive away.

Beautiful lodging in forest setting

Overall, very happy with stay. Beautiful, clean, fully stocked, and comfortable condo in a wooded area NW of Tahoe. The property manager was very responsive to phone calls, questions, etc. My family really enjoyed the stay. The only reason I gave this rating a four is because the property manager forces you to sign an onerous legal agreement that was not disclosed in the VRBO listing. Most of the terms were fine, but some were pretty one sided in favor of the landlord. I called the property manager and said I thought this was not fair since no where in the VRBO listing did it say that a legal contract would be required. They were willing to refund my money, but I didn't want to cancel at that point. Also, not affecting the score, you should be aware that this lodging does not have air conditioning. We were there around the 4th of July and temperatures were hot. Still, at night the temperatures drop quite a bit and there is a fan on the 3rd level. It was a little warm on the 3rd level, but ok. Another minor thing, the property gave no instructions on how to access the condo pool. Finally, if you are coming for Lake Tahoe, we found out later that most of the activity is on the south side of the lake, and that's an hour away. But the location is still great if you want a relaxing location away from the crowds in a beautiful forest setting, and not far from north Lake Tahoe. Also, Lake Donner, close by, has warmer water than Lake Tahoe if you want to swim.

cozy & convenient

The house is cozy and equipped with many add-ons for ski & playing with snow. It is conveniently located near a shuttle station (~50Ft away) to northstar. it greatly boosted our ski experience.

Great home base for ski week

Great location, clean throughout, kitchen well-furnished for family meal prep, excellent internet, everything pretty much as described and/or pictured. Could use a tp upgrade. Otherwise, highly recommended.

Ski vacation--3 children 3 adults

Our only complaint is VRBO. This great property should rent without using VRBO who only charged fees and sent e-mails threatening no refund. There were weather issues impacting our check in for which VRBO was useless. Once we were able to communicate with Natural Retreats, everything went well. The unit is well-appointed and convenient to the mountain.
