Garden Cottage - snug studio in garden setting

Garden Cottage is a cosy studio-style accommodation with garden views. A place for quiet reflection, solitude and a base from which to explore all the delights of the Yarra Valley, or as the locals call it, 'The Valley.'

Eighty-plus years ago, the original dwelling was built from locally sourced rocks and wood. The Garden Cottage has been refreshed and relaunched, ready to welcome guests with a desire for a quiet encounter with nature.

Sorry, no smoking/vaping in the cottage or on the property.

A moderate level of fitness is required to climb the 30 stone stairs a to the Garden Cottage.

No smoking anywhere on the property.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not accept bookings from people who do not have prior reviews, or have poor reviews. We are sorry we have to do this, but with over 200 bookings over the past four years, we have had a small number of bad experiences, and all of them have been with people who did not have prior or positive reviews. Unfortunately, a few have spoilt it for many.

Relaxing Garden Retreat

Loved the gardens , views of the mountains , privacy and away from the busyness below yet only a ten minute walk to the shops and Yarra River trails .

Cozy but spacious cottage

The perfect minimalist cottage. Incredibly clean and neat little space on a gorgeous property. Very comfy bed as well! Only downside was that we couldn't find the guestbook mentioned in the amazing 'room info & town guide booklet' the owners had made up

Cute and compact cottage close to walking trails and the main street

Great location. Ann was so helpful. Perfect spot if you’re a morning person as the little sitting area out the front gets the morning sun.

Perfect spot for ME time

It’s a perfect spot if someone is looking for some Me time just like me. Everything is within walking distance, local IGA, so many cafe options, dinner and wine options and of-course my personal favourite trails. I did the Mt Donna and La La falls trails which was just the prefect gift for myself. I didn’t get to meet the owners Bt they gave me detailed instructions of how to find the property when I arrive so I don’t get lost, which I really appreciate. It’s a lovely studio room has everything you’ll need to keep yourself warm and cosy. Little table outside and the garden that gives perfect view of Mt Donna and you can listen to the birds and the river rushing down as well. I just loved it. Thanks for having me .

Perfect getaway!

My partner and I stayed at this lovely cottage over a long weekend and it was absolutely perfect. We had such a relaxing time. We loved everything about the cottage including the shared gardens which were very cute! Thanks Anne for a lovely weekend away escaping Melbourne!

Beautiful serene little cottage

My partner and I stayed here for New years eve and thought the place was very beautiful. Wonderful views of the mountains and plenty of space to see the nights sky/stars. The actual room inside is quite small and I as a tall man had to duck to get through doorways but that's the only thing we had to get used to. The owners are very nice and welcoming. Even on 38 degree days the room itself is tucked away and so keeps quite cool. Well worth the stay
