Experience a cosy autumn and winter getaway in our delightful 1950s cabin, nestled close to the river, walking trails, and a short stroll to town.

Recently renovated and thoughtfully equipped, unwind amongst stunning garden and mountain views. The spacious deck with BBQ and a family-sized table is perfect for a morning coffee on those warmer sunny mornings or to have a chat with the friendly locals - king parrots, rosellas, kookaburras ...

This peaceful, dog-friendly retreat (with secure 1.2m fencing all round) is accessible via a cement ramp (no steps) to the front door and offers ample off-street parking. It’s the ideal place to disconnect from the world for a few days or use as a base for exploring the breathtaking Upper Yarra Ranges.

Our wonderful guests have left glowing reviews, praising our comfy beds, family-friendly amenities, vintage charm and local adventures. The indoor wood stove is now perfect for a cooler evening (with firewood supplied), and the bedrooms have heaters and electric blankets on the beds.

Feel a world away from the hustle and bustle of city life with Idyllwylde just an hour from Melbourne. Explore the charming and historic main street, where delightful cafes and quirky shops await, just a 5-minute walk across the bridge and oval, or enjoy a leisurely stroll along the river, and kick the autumn leaves. July is snow season. Not your skiing or resort kind, but if you want to take the kids up to see their first snow, and maybe build a snowman, Warburton is only a half hour drive up to Mt. Donna Buang.

Whether you seek a laid-back escape or an adventure-packed weekend, our cabin is the idyllic destination for families and friends. We also welcome mid-week inquiries for a refreshing break any time of the year.

Very pretty Warburton house and garden

Idlewylde is a gorgeous little house and garden with everything you need for a comfortable stay in a quiet end of town, close to the river and a nice walk to town. The facilities were great and all clean and tidy, with thoughtful choccies and wine as a bonus welcome, would highly recommend the property to stay at,

Wonderful stay for wedding weekend

We enjoyed our stay at Idyllwylde very much. Leanne was very prompt with communication and so kind. The home was clean, cozy and well situated in the town, only a 3 minute drive or about 12 minute walk to the main road. Check-in was very easy, as Leanne provided very detailed instructions, and the home was a good amount of space for four people. We would love to stay again if ever back in Warburton!

Perfect getaway

Exactly as advertised ! Just a couple minutes stroll to the river which was sublime on days when it was 38 degrees. Cottage had everything you could need and was securely fenced for our dog. Maybe avoid if you have a cockatoo phobia… Can’t wait to book again.

Great facilities for kids and pets. Walking distance to Yarra. The rings provided for use down the Yarra were a hit and the bird seed to feed the birds around the house. A lovely bottle of wine and some lollies and extra supplies in the cupboards and fridge were very generous. Great communication from owner.

Great time!

We had a wonderful time at Idyllwylde cabin. The place is very cosy, where you can relax and feel at home with comfy beds and well equipped kitchen. Outside you are surrounded by trees and birds coming to say hello.

Home away from home

We could not have had a more relaxing mini-break. The cottage is clean, fully equipped with a peaceful outdoor area. There is a stream running down the back of the property that is calming. Our dog loved the fully fenced yard and the walks nearby. Warburton is such a beautiful place with much more to see than we realised. We cannot recommend this property enough.

Nice family stay

The stay was a perfect little get away for the family. The area was beautiful and the backyard was big enough for the dog. The house was homey and had everything we needed.

A relaxed and welcoming energy

You never really know what to expect when you arrive at a new holiday cottage, but this place felt instantly warm and welcoming. The host had left us a special basket of treats (always popular) and access to essentials we'd managed to forget, like the olive oil. The fire was prepped to be lit, the beds were warm and comfy, and the location couldn't be beat. I had three wonderful walks with my dog over the weekend, and a top quality morning coffee in town (10 mins walk along the river) - all without the need for a car. I would highly recommend this cute little getaway house!

Fabulous cottage

We had a wonderful stay at this property. It was homely and spotless with wonderful character. We had cold rainy weather during our stay, but none of us minded when we had such a lovely place to retreat to when we needed to cut short our daily adventures and get out of the weather. The cottage was easy walking distance to the shops via the picturesque river trail and host Leanne was very helpful. The welcome goodies were an unexpected surprise too! We found plenty to entertain ourselves with in the Warburton area and wouldn't hesitate to book another stay in the cottage if we are in the Warburton area again. A big thumbs up from our whole family.

This is a very nice place to stay in Warburton. It is close to town and shops, a very nice walk down the river to the local cafes and restaurants. The house is very well organised and had everything we needed, and more! The host was very helpful and communication was great! Thank you!

Great winter get away

We had a great winter weekend at the property. It's easy to find and very welcoming. Leanne, the host had everything setup perfectly, and the timber fire place added to the ambience for our wine and local cheeses. The welcome pack was a nice surprise. The house is very comfortable and has everything you need, The location is a short walk along the flowing river to the town full of cafes (great coffee at Silva.) There was light snow falling at Mt Donna Buang which was only 20 mins away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay,so much that my daughter didn't want to leave.

Mums and boys weekend

We had such a beautiful weekend away. The house was very cosy, and perfect size for family dinner. the kids loved feeding the birds and playing in the garden. The highlight of their trip was the skatepark next to Warburton. Highly recommended!!

Super cosy and comfortable

We had such a lovely stay at this cosy cottage. Everything is in good nic, very good quality bedding and kitchenware. A lot of personal touches - A home away from Home. Fireplace works a treat to take the chill off. The reverse cycle also warms up the place in a jiffy. The kids got stuck into the games and puzzles as it rained most of our stay. Great location - walking distance, along the gorgeous river, into town or the caravan park. We would definitely book again.

Perfect location for the river

We had a fantastic stay at Idyllwylde. The property is very well presented and was perfect for both us and our dog who enjoyed the fenced in garden. Great location for both the river and Warburton - very quiet in the house despite the rest of town being very busy. Would stay again!

As a Melbourne-based family, we purchased Idyllwyde as a place to renovate and enjoy. This is the first time we've had a place to host. While it's significant amount of work, we really enjoy hosting. Our guests have all been lovely, organised, and respectful of the house.

Varför värden valde detta boende

It's just the perfect escape point - not too far from Melbourne. Warburton has its charms all year round, and you can be as busy or lazy as you want to be. We love the river, and being back in the country, with all the conveniences of town - like good coffee :)
