Stunning Views but Property Needed Better Maintenance

The house was situated in a beautiful location with stunning views including views of Mt. Washington. Peaceful location. To make the stay better, the walk way to the door should have been shoveled, bath towels folded and put back in closet ready for use (they were unfolded in the dryer), there were no kitchen towels to dry hands, propane fire pit didn't work and not enough blankets or pillows for guests to use. Improve these areas and it would greatly improve a guest's stay.

Worth it for the Views!

This is such a great home and it has the most spectacular views you can imagine! A massive stone fireplace is the main attraction of the family room, floor to ceiling windows looking out over the mountains are the star though. The 3 en-suite bedrooms were a big hit, plus an addition double bunk room. Plenty of space for 2 families and plenty of parking. We'll be back!

Gorgeous views from every room in this home. Plenty of space for everyone. The game room is a nice touch to occupy kids and teens if needed. Thanks so much for having us!!!

Beautiful views, quiet surroundings

Process was easy, house was great, views were amazing, my only issue was no air conditioning, 1st day was a bit hot in the 90's. Cooled down rest of the stay. Game room was a real hit with the kids. Overall a great stay

Excellent location

Perfect in every way. Four of us were in the area to attend tennis camp in Waterville Valley, about 20 minutes away. Worth the trip daily for the views and the setting. Looking forward to next year.

Unfortunate experience

We booked a 2 night, 1 day trip with my family which includes my 2 small children and another couple with their small children. The location is perfect - views of the mountains are beautiful and the house itself has a lot of potential, if it was cared for. Unfortunately, it was not at all. I noticed property reviewers before us had heat and hot water troubles, but the reviewer noted that the owner was accommodating and brought them more firewood and space heaters to help keep warm during their stay and fully refunded. I figured, heating problems happen so I’m sure they were fixed since. Nope. In the middle of the night on the first night the heat went out. We had to pile on the blankets. Notified the owner in the morning who said the propane tank must be empty but asked if we could go out side (in -10 weather) and venture over to the propane tank to check for him. Shoveled ourselves a path to the propane tank which was indeed empty. Owner got the company to come fill it around 5pm that night, but we had to leave the house for the day and purchase several bundles of firewood to help keep warm when we returned. That’s the heating situation, with our very small children who were freezing. Definitely a lack of preparedness from the owner. 2 renters in 1 month are left with no heat and for us it was simply because he never checked the empty propane tank before we arrived. Upon arrival on the first day we noticed a construction zone in the room to the left as soon as you walk in. Paint cans everywhere, wet paint rollers, boxes and saw/paint sanding dust everywhere throughout the main living area. Completely caked onto everything. It was nearly impossible to keep our kids out of that construction room off of the main living area and come to find out, the paint can tops weren’t on properly either. We were never notified that this house was under construction. We never would have booked with our small children. Smoke alarms were converted in plastic throughout the entire house due to the dust from the construction. Signs on the smoke alarm plastic covering even noted “do not remove until construction is complete.” We could not reach the alarms to remove the plastic ourselves for safety reasons. We also noticed mice droppings everywhere. Living area, kitchen, bedrooms. Notified the owner who claimed he was not aware of mice, even though there were traps in a closet and droppings littered everything. Owner had no accountability for any of it.

Great stay! Lovely property and great services!

We stayed at this lovely property for our Christmas vacation and had a wonderful experience! It’s a beautiful house with unbeatable mountain view. The property is very clean and well furnished with everything we needed. My kids loved the arcade machines and board games. Would love to come back!

Spacious and modern home with breathtaking mountain views!!

Booked this rental for my birthday weekend with my boyfriend, sister, and a few friends. The cabin/house was super nice, large open living/dining room and kitchen, beautiful large fireplace in living room. The outside deck is nice, best part of this rental is the amazing view of the mountains, which can be seen from the first floor/deck and also an amazing view from the several large ceiling-to-floor windows in the master bedroom, it was awesome to wake up to that view. Unfortunately during our stay there, we realized the heat nor hot water was working. At first we called our host who tried to help us fix the problem over the phone, we got the heat/hot water working temporarily but then it stopped working again. Our host tried to get a repairman, but none were available until the Monday after the weekend (which we were only staying until Sunday anyways). We were understandably upset about the situation and at first thought about leaving and going home early, and our host understood and offered a full refund, but we didn’t really want to end our weekend getaway early and we really enjoyed the house itself. That’s when our host offered to personally come to the house and try to figure out the problem, but couldn’t promise that he could fix it. Our host ended up coming with his family, who brought us several bundles of firewood for the large fireplace on the main level, space heaters for the bedrooms, and also brought more board games for us to play, extra towels (side note: we ended up being able to take showers at the rec center down the hill, which the house rental comes with 3 passes to it), and even brought me chocolates and wine as a birthday gift for me!! It was so kind of them and really appreciated. It wasn’t their fault that the heat wasn’t working, things happen and need repairs from time to time. Since the problem couldn’t 100% be fixed for us, he did the right thing and offer us a full refund. We considered it but the house was so nice and we wanted to stay so we made the best of it!! It was actually realllly nice having the fire going and then when it was time to sleep, the space heaters did the trick in the bedrooms!! All in all, it was a great weekend despite everything and we are glad we stayed!
