Review

The house was well appointed and communication was good as to what would be provided versus what was not provided. The beds were comfortable. The bed linens were clean but not comfortable. The description states a panoramic view of the back water sound and the pictures show this view as well. This is not the case and not true. The back view looks directly into the side of a house close to this property. We have never rented a property not accurately described and we’re disappointed in this.

Black Mold and Filth

This was the second year we rented One Shore Thing. On our check-in day we were called by the rental office before noon to tell us our house was ready. We did not arrive until after three and were met with Black mold in the master bathroom and the main floor powder room. I received no response to my calls to the rental office or the after hour emergency line the rest of the weekend. The entire weekend was stressful. Monday and Tuesday I dealt with three different individuals, all of who claimed it was Black mold, but could not do anything about it. Jennifer, the cleaning superintendent told me the house had not been cleaned for two weeks because no one had rented it and they only do a touch up if the house was not rented for three weeks. I will say that policy needs to change or the cleaning service because our house was not clean and why did no one report the black mold when it was cleaned three weeks prior. Photos were taken and sent to Marie and then I followed up with Crystal who basically told me it was not Black Mold when clearly it is. I have never experienced anything like this and feel as though my entire families health was at risk all week. There is absolutely no doubt that I should receive a full refund for this horrible week. I will say the property needs major attention for only being two years old. I placed a follow up call with Crystal today, 8/26/23, about my refund and have not heard anything. Such a disappointing week.
