Enter into a grand living room area upon entry with vaulted knotty pine cathedral ceilings and soaring picture windows to take in the panoramic lake views surrounding you. Comfortable sitting couches offer great spaces to sit and make memories around a toasty rock wood-burning fireplace. Enjoy your favorite movie on the massive flat-screen Streaming TV or just snuggle up and watch the snow falling outside. (Guests must have their own accounts to use Streaming services.) There are two separate lake view dining areas that each offer a custom formal log dining table for your group or holiday meals together along with deck access and more fantastic lake views. The breakfast bar pairs stool seats and gorgeous granite countertops for your chef to prepare your home-cooked meals. Beautiful lake front home. Very comfortable furnishings and great layout, with ample room for our party of seven, including three young teens, two adults and two seniors. Our kids loved the bottom floor with pool table and other games. We have stayed in other homes that had little separation of play vs adult spaces, and found this home especially nice because the recreation was on a separate floor, leaving the living room quiet and relaxing for adults. Kitchen was well equipped, but could definitely use a new set of frying pans. There were lots of utensils, but no spatulas. Lastly, the barbecue starter wasn’t working and we had to turn on the gas and use a match, not ideal.The only drawback for us was the very steep driveway that would not accommodate our truck with boat on trailer. We ended up putting the trailer in the parking area up by the road. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property to others.

problems to note

Spectrum TV box for downstairs not functional: moved the functional one from living room to downstairs. Lots of mice running around the house after 9pm. House was marginally clean and vacuum cleaner was left in dining room. BBQ so disgusting we chose not to use it. Beds and pillows were not great - some worse than others. We were provided 2 dishwasher pods and 2 garbage bags for a 4 day stay with 8 people - entirely inadequate so we had to go buy more. The fireplace downstairs not functional ( didn't try the upstairs one but it was very cold downstairs so needed it). The location to take the garbage way too far away in the opposite direction so we actually brought bags of garbage home to Santa Barbara with us - not an ideal situation.

Fun lake weekend

We had a great weekend at Big Bear lake. Can’t beat this location in Boulder Bay, we brought our own paddle boards and floats. We also enjoyed fishing and jumping off the dock. There is morning shade as well as late afternoon shade from the trees. We barbecued and ate dinner on the deck with an awesome view. The game room stayed cool all day and our teens loved playing pool. We brought our own fans to cool down the bedrooms at night. We were able to walk to the Castle Rock trailhead to hike. I would definitely recommend this house, it is a great value and had everything we needed.

Pets must be acknowledged and may not be left unattended in the home. Owners must clean up after pets; subject to added cleaning fees for violations.

All homes include clean linens, and fresh bath towels for the occupancy. A kitchen with basic cookware and small starter amount of dish soap, toilet paper, and trash bags will be supplied. Paper towels, coffee filters/coffee, specialty appliances, nor condiments/spices/oils are supplied.

No Pay-Per-View Ordering in any homes.

No refunds/credits for cancellations or trip interruptions due to acts of nature, (especially snow, fire, power outages) weather, road conditions, mechanical or electrical failures, spa malfunctions, or other equipment factors beyond our control.

This is a forested mountain community home to critters- animals or insects you may encounter are spiders, moths, flies, squirrels, gophers, bears, coyotes, burro, bear, bats, etc. Our team inspects prior to arrival but cannot guarantee the home will be free of these forest critters.
