- Due to local weather conditions, chains may be necessary from late October through early May

- Your safety matters. This property features 3 exterior security cameras: camera 1 is above the garage facing the driveway, camera 2 is on the carriage house facing the driveway, and camera 3 is on the back side of the carriage house facing out. Beautiful Views

The listing is not lying when it says to be prepared for the drive up to the home. Please be prepared with the right vehicle! However, the views are amazing and the privacy is refreshing. We enjoyed walking around the property and taking in the quiet stillness and fresh air. The house was well-stocked and we were able to make meals and relax. The location and proximity to downtown Idaho Springs was great. The drives to Denver and RMNP were also very manageable. Gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I would recommend a deep clean for the house.

Nice cabin

The cabin is pretty nice. It has a tremendous view that is rare to find. It’s on the side of a huge mountain. The driveway is tough but doable. I would recommend a high clearance something. Don’t try to take a corvette here. The driveway is similar to an offroad trail you may tried in a Jeep, probably a high 2. It is a dog friendly property, we chose this place because of this and close proximity to many many Jeep trails. I would recommend this cabin and I would come back.

Spectacular views beautiful house great location

This house was perfect for two couples. The views of the mountains were gorgeous and the home is beautiful - just as shown. They are not kidding about the driveway - if you’re not comfortable with off road mountain driving this might not be the place for you. We took advice from others and got groceries and supplies before heading to the house. We loved many near by things to do. Red Rocks concert, Evans Mountain, St.Mary’s Glacier, Boulder and Denver are all good day trips.

Awesome view

I would highly recommend this place. Spacious home with beautiful views. You will need an AWD or 4 wheel drive vehicle to access this home! If you have any issues with anxiety or panic attacks, the drive up the mountain, is not for you! BUT, if you can get up there, it will be well worth it!

Perfect mountain get away

The cabin was lovely and impeccably clean! It has all the amenities we could have wanted and the view is amazing. It's absolutely true that you MUST have AWD or 4WD in order to make it up the mountain. We have a Honda CRV AWD and it worked well for us. Definitely put it in "L" instead of "D". There was always plenty of hot water for relaxing showers after a hike and the bed was comfy. The humming birds were constantly around the feeder on the patio, as well... Which made for fun entertainment. Overall, our stay was perfect.

Gorgeous home and views

First let me say when they tell you that you need 4wd or awd to get to the cabin, they are not kidding! But once you get there… wow!!!! Home was clean and had a nice littler welcome package of local beer and chips. All our time spent at the house was on the deck looking at the amazing views during the day and stars at night. It was so peaceful. Made friends with the resident hummingbirds! Beds were very comfortable as well.

OMG road

The cabin and view were both beautiful. However, the road to get to it was anything but good. I’ve been on atv trails that weren’t this bad. It was hard on any vehicle even if it is 4 wheel drive. My main disappointment came with the property manager. Listed on the amenities is an iron and ironing board. There wasn’t an iron to be found. I emailed the manager asking about it and was told he would check and get back with me. I never heard back. So, would he have gotten back if it was something more important than an iron?? I don’t know.

Breathtaking Views and Great Trail for hiking

The View is AMAZING!! Do NOT travel in the dark your first time trying to find it. It took us over an hour and the directions aren't clear. You have to have an all wheel drive because the road up is very hairy, many switch backs. I would list that high up in the description. Once you get there you won't want to leave, so get supplies ahead of time. It is a beautiful cabin. We would suggest putting shades on the windows upstairs b/c once the sun comes up it is very bright in there. I would find a better cleaning company. The master upstairs comforter had what looked like "human fluids" on it so needless to say we didn't use it. Under the couch is nasty and I don't think has ever been vacuumed. The kitchen has all the necessities so that is a plus. It has heated floors which is very nice. Overall a beautiful cabin and I would highly recommend it.

Comfortable Cabin In the Mountains

This cabin was awesome! We arrived on Sunday afternoon to Colorado, visiting from New Mexico. While on our drive, the property manager called to inform us about how to reach the cabin because it is on a small mountain road. Since it had snowed recently, he wanted to ensure that we had a capable vehicle. He also let us know where some extra towels were and that we could check in early if we desired. Over the week we had a phenomenal time. Snowshoeing out the back yard, breathtaking views of the sunrise, and an equipped house for everything we needed. Great experience with great customer service.

Beyond Amazing

This property was on a mountain and surrounded by snow. It was a perfect location to see the mountains and snow that you look forward to when you visit Colorado. If you are looking for an authentic Colorado experience you NEED to book this house. From the primary bedroom you get a picturesque view of snow capped mountains that just make you smile when you are looking out the window from the bathroom or the bed. Our next trip to Colorado we will be staying at this property again. It was worth every penny!

Wonderful escape from the city!

I live in Denver and this was the PERFECT weekend getaway. Quick, scenic drive from the city (a little rough at the end - so make sure you take it slow and have very good tires!). The house was even more beautiful than the photos if that is possible! Very quiet and private area. Our highlight (after the perfect view, large deck, comfortable beds, and fire place) was the pebble ice machine! Such a great touch. Can't wait to come back.

Breathtaking views!

There's nothing like waking up to these mountain views. Loved the house, the thoughtful touches (snacks and beverages) and the comfortable furnishings. Please make sure you have the right vehicle before you book!!! We had AWD, but would have done ever better with a vehicle that also rode high. The road is extremely rough with deep ruts and potholes. Definitely worth the trouble if you can get there, though! Our hosts were easy to reach and very helpful. Loved our stay!

Gorgeous mountain getaway!

This home was exactly as advertised! The rustic cabin vibe with expansive windows and French doors that open onto the large deck allowed the beauty of the mountains to flow into the home. The views seen from every room and deck were outrageous! Although the house was only a couple miles from Idaho Springs, it felt as if we were nestled way up in the mountains. The evenings were chilly, so we enjoyed having the fireplace! As we had escaped the city craziness for a few days, we found the nearby trails and area perfect for some outdoor therapy! The home provided everything we needed…the kitchen was fully stocked for preparing meals. There was even a fun ice maker that made the perfect ice cube😃. We really appreciated how clean and well cared for the home is and found it to be very comfortable! There was lots of attention to detail as was seen with all the bathroom toiletries, kitchen items, spices, oil, baggies etc that were provided. We did reach out to the guest contact prior to arrival with questions and did receive a very quick response! That was really terrific! The owners even left a note welcoming us, as well as some local brew and chips. Very nice touch! We highly recommend and will be back!

An Amazing Home to Spend time with Family

This home was perfect for our family getaway. We fit two families without any problems. It was extremely peaceful and quiet. We loved how far up in the mountains we felt even though we were only a short miles from Idaho Springs. The owners were extremely responsive and were great to work with. The property and home are extremely well taken care of and the house had all the essential items anyone would need. We would definitely come back again and spend more time here in the future!
