Great property, but caretaker issues

The property itself was awesome and totally worked for our group as a basecamp for running the Rubicon. We had some issues however with whoever the caretaker of the property is. They did communicate well, but were on property well past the check-in time still getting things sorted, along with several dogs (the property is no dogs allowed), their family members (kids and partner). The caretaker also showed up the next day saying we should have checked out when we had the property booked for the week? There were 2 bbq grills but no gas to use them and 1 had an active hornets nest inside. The coffee maker still had moldy filter and grounds in it. Barring some issues with the caretaker id definitely stay again and recommend the property, but hopefully the property group that owns this sees the review and addresses some potential issues for future people who book.

House was beautiful and in a perfect location. Close to Apple hill but private and quiet. House was clean, plenty of amenities and ample space for 7 adults.

Amazing for big families!

The home was the perfect size and layout for a group trip. The host was extremely helpful and communicative. I would stay here again, and recommend to anyone looking for a great getaway spot!

Spring Wedding

The property was lovely, spacious, and clean. The area is beautiful and the neighborhood is quiet. Great place for a family to spend time together. Plenty of room to spread out. Sabrina, the host, was great with communication and went above and beyond to assist us. Would definitely stay here again.

Awful cleaning / check-in process

I rented this property for my wedding weekend to have a big place for family to stay in the area. First off, I had tried to contact the property host (managed by Evolve properties) about the possibility for an early check-in over two weeks in advance and heard nothing back until just a few days before check-in day. I understand not being able to check-in early but Evolve did not communicate such a simple answer timely, they could have answered my question well before the week of. Okay, can't check-in early no big deal. Eventually my family and I do check-in and the Evolve representative communicated with me that she could not be there to clean yet as something else had come up and there was an emergency at another property. I understand, things happen, however, the manager wasn't able to finish cleaning the property until 11:30 PM!!!! Insanity! I see this has been a theme with some other reviews. There is an "emergency" and someone can't clean the property "until later"...."later" literally being midnight. My elderly mother and other family members couldn't go to sleep until after midnight the night before my wedding! I was beyond disappointed. They had the dryer running at 11pm trying to dry linens for the beds, while we just sit there awkwardly, you don't have extra linens? Absolutely ridiculous. The next morning we check out the house some more after finally being able to sleep and there are ants in the kitchen and the rugs in the bathrooms were filthy. DONT STAY HERE!

Wonderful stay in Camino!

Overall, the house met our family's needs. It was spacious, good amount of seating and comfy beds. Sabrina was easy to communicate with and responded quickly. The house could use some TLC and small things would create an even better customer experience. Would stay again if the need were to arise.

Awesome big place

Enjoyed staying here. It is a long way from highway 50 on winding roads. The place is very roomy. However people walking on the main floor really echo downstairs. So no light sleepers there. Would be willing to use again.

Family trip to Apple Hill/Placerville

Great house in a quiet area near many Apple Hill farms. Loved the unique architecture, and with the exception of the small game room, everything was on one level (great for those with mobility issues). Property manager Sabrina was super communicative and helpful. We were here during an excessive heat warning, but the AC was great and kept us comfortable. Highly recommend this property.

Second stay here

This was the second time we have stayed here. We chose it for the location and the number of rooms. The home is spacious, clean but quirky as two of the rooms have no ceiling. For me, it wasn’t worth the price as we only had access to three bedrooms not five, because of miscommunication between the property management company and our contact. Sabrina and I also kept missing each other when trying to communicate. We will most likely stay somewhere else next time.

Cleanliness

The house was very dirty, bathrooms not cleaned beds not changed or made. Large garbage bags left in downstairs unit, very smelly. Not enough linens for bed. Advertised 4 roll away bed, they were small pads for floor and no linens. Trash cans in bath room not emptied. Will not use that company again.

I demand I deserve a refund! DISGUSTING!!!!

If I could give zero stars I would. I’ve been trying to handle this privately but now that I’m being ignored and the situation has not been rectified - here we go! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! The house was so dirty and unusable that we went and found somewhere else to stay! The night we checked in I tried to be understanding that the housekeeper had a family emergency and was running behind - no problem, we go to dinner, long wedding rehearsal dinner, show back up at the house at 11:15 pm and they’re still there, looks like nothing has been done, beds are not made, bathrooms not clean. 12:30 am they leave, still not clean! 2 out of the 5 rooms don’t have ceilings, seriously! For a non smoking property there were cigarette butts Everywhere! In the Firepit, so now unusable, empty bottles with them. The BBQ was disgusting and had a wasp nest so we couldn’t cook dinner that we went shopping for. The silverware drawer had food crumbles or something in it so won’t be eating with that - gross! There was a random trash bag of ashes next to the fireplace inside which 1. Unsafe and 2. Why was it left there! It was my wedding weekend, I booked this place 11 months in advance so it’s not like it was a last minute booking that they were unprepared for. A lot of the dirtyness was obviously like that for months, not dusted, cobwebs, etc. I understand it’s a lot of house but you are providing a service, if you are unable to fulfill those requirements then you’re in the wrong business! I’m in the industry - and I would NEVER allow this to happen! You should be appalled! Where’s my refund?!?!?! Wish I could add pictures to this review - I’ve got plenty of them!

When we checked-in, the sink was leaking and the caretaker had to run to the hardware store for parts. Wasn’t fixed until almost 10PM. The roof began leaking the second day and another caretaker had to come take a look at it and make emergency repairs. There were a larger number of spider-webs in the high windows. House needs a little work. Also, be aware the additional bedrooms share a common, open-air ceiling, so you can hear everything going on in the next bedroom (kids, etc.). Location of the property was great; lots to do in Camino with all the apple farms and vineyards.

Spacious but Requires Maintenance

The house had not been cleaned yet upon our arrival and we had guests traveling from four different states to attend a memorial service. The local host arrived 1-2 hours after our check-in, doing laundry, cleaning floors, and making beds from about 5 pm to 9 pm while our family and guests gathered in the large living room, which is a good space. The upstairs kitchen sink leaked into the downstairs bedroom and the two sinks downstairs could not be used. The garbage in the driveway smelled, the umbrella was broken, and the grill was filthy. The yard is unkempt. There is little privacy for those staying in the upstairs bedrooms because you can hear every sound another person makes. The May 2023 review on this web page was accurate. Conflicting check-in times were provided, and communication was poor at the onset. This property shows a lack of pride in ownership. We do not recommend booking this property until the owner resolves their management and maintenance problems.

Nice Stay

My first impression was WOW! Beautiful property! Great location and perfect place to relax as we prepared for our daughters wedding. Working with third party Evolve property management was challenging. Communication with them and local host was less than desirable. Conflicting info with checkin times, and local host actually reading my texts was ridiculous. Added stress when I didn't need it. Local host was repairing mirrors, making beds, washing floors, and taking out garbage when we arrived. She was there with us for over an hour. House is big but noisy with hard wood floors and lack of privacy in two of the bedrooms that have walls and doors but walls don't go all the way to the ceiling. It was a mystery to figure out the light switches and what works with what. The dining room window is cracked. The umbrella on the deck was broken and unusable. Grill igniter is not working and grill was not clean. Clear directions on how the heater/AC works would have been nice; as well as the fake fireplaces in two of the rooms. Make a welcome book and include details on all these things. Otherwise, it's beautiful.

A Quiet Place

I delightful place to get away from the busyness of life. Quiet walks among nature was delightful. Bedrooms were spacious and beds very comfortable. Each room equipped with heater/air conditioner. Easy to serve guests cafeteria style and along with table and chairs we provided, plenty of places to sit. Our hostess, Sabrina, was a delight to work with. She did everything she could to make sure we were taken care of. The vote was to stay here again another year. The children enjoyed playing tag, soccor, football and having "scavenger hunts" in the area behind the house. Nature was beautiful all around.

Nice house

Those sleeping downstairs hear everything from upstairs. We ran out of TP... 8 of us there. Kitchen needs a few items. Serving utensils, pitcher, med serving bowls. They do provide coffee and pot and powdered creamer and sugar. We would stay again.
