The Space:
This unit’s décor is both stylish and comfortable and has a relaxing beach town feel throughout. A generous, open floor plan features two bedrooms, each with a private bath, along with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and a spacious living room where friends and families can celebrate good times together. In the mornings, you can enjoy coffee on the terrace that overlooks picturesque plunge pools and Mediterranean-style architecture. Here you can read, reflect, and plan your day’s activities. Or you may decide to do nothing at all and just rest in the lush, tropical beauty of the surroundings. The master suite offers a king-size bed, while a second suite features twin beds. Upon request, the twin beds can easily be converted into a king bed. Maximum occupancy is four. (No pets please.) Additional amenities include a TV in every room, a laundry room, and in the common area, there is a BBQ for larger groups and an outdoor shower for beachgoers. The rooftop terrace of the building affords breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and spectacular sunsets that are simply unforgettable.

Its cappuccino bar and delicious morning muffins are a must for every guest. Adjacent boutiques sell caps, T-shirts, beachwear and sundries, while a relaxed day spa provides a complete menu of body care services. The Beach Club, with three pools, lounge chairs, gym, changing rooms, showers and a restaurant costs $15 for all-day access.

The Neighborhood:
Las Catalinas is a unique development north of Potrero built in the style of an Old World Mediterranean village, with fountains and car-free streets made of paving stones. It’s right in front of the beautiful Playa Danta, at the northern end of a road that connects to Potrero, Flamingo and Brasilito to the south.

In addition to its many high-end homes, Las Catalinas has two luxury hotels, Casa Chameleon and Santarena Hotel, both with great restaurants. Las Catalinas has a gourmet grocery store, clothing shops, adventure outfitters and various eateries. Just be advised that prices here are a bit high.

Access to the beach is free and open to the public, and there’s lots of shade. The hills behind Las Catalinas also have miles of trails used for hiking and mountain biking, and there’s a bike rental shop in town.

Las Catalinas is one hour from the international airport in Liberia. Several towns and beaches are within a 20-minute drive, including Potrero, Flamingo and Brasilito.

Getting Around:
Our agents will be happy to assist you with renting a car, giving you the freedom to explore the area where you want, when you want. For short drives to nearby towns or beaches, golf carts are another popular mode of transportation. You can also rent a bicycle to ride around in town or beyond.

We can arrange transfers to and from the airport. Rental cars can also be delivered to your property at no additional cost, allowing you to relax and enjoy the scenery as our private van drives you here from the airport.

Taxis are available but can be a bit hard to find. Many locals use buses to get around, though there are a limited number of routes and times of day when you can catch them. Private shuttles can be a great option for traveling to nearby destinations, and many tour companies offer transportation to and from the tour. Our information brochure will provide you with useful information on local transportation options and points of interest, as well as contact information for taxis and shuttles.

Other Things to Note:
Special Places of Costa Rica is committed to protecting our properties and keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations, which is why you will be asked to complete our independent verification. Before your stay begins, you will need to verify your details with us to complete your booking. You will be contacted via email and/or text to complete the verification. You will also be given the choice between paying a refundable deposit or buying a non-refundable damage waiver. We suggest you buy the damage waiver as this protects you in case you cause accidental damage during a booking.

Some construction — and a discount

Please note that Las Catalinas is a growing project, and this means construction may be occurring during your stay. Every effort is made to minimize noise, but it’s not uncommon to see and hear ongoing construction nearby. It’s a small distraction in a beautiful and peaceful place. A discount to compensate guests has already been factored into the price of this unit.
