We are Aucklanders, born and bred. We have raised four children and have 14 grandchildren.. Before purchasing this home, every Christmas holidays we would look for a holiday home that could fit our whole family. As more grandchildren came along, it became more and more difficult to find a holiday home big enough. The last two years before purchasing our Waipu home, the kids and grandkids camped in tents while we stayed in a nearby Airbnb, not ideal. So…

Varför värden valde detta boende

In December 2020, our daughter and her family invited us to go with them for the weekend at the Waipu Campgrounds (we stayed in the neighbouring motel). Had an awesome time at the beautiful beach with our grandchildren. Leaving to head home, a few minutes down the road from the camp, we passed a house for sale. I was curious how much homes went for in Waipu. I perused listings in Waipu and as soon as I saw the main pic for this home, I turned to Brett and said “I think we’ve found our holiday home”, I hadn’t even clicked on the other pics to see the inside of the home. The very next weekend, our whole family, grandkids and all, travelled to Waipu to checkout the property. We all instantly fell in love with all 10 acres of the property. We weren’t initially in the market to find a holiday home to purchase, but one thing led to another and the rest is history.

Since owning the property, we have done a lot of renovations. We built a massive games barn. In the house, we changed the flooring throughout. Upgraded the kitchen and renovated the main ensuite. Also adding new landscaping and a large concrete driveway.

We have put our heart and soul into this property to make it a comfortable holiday home for our kids, grandkids and for generations to come. We hope you love our home away from home, as much as our whole family does :-)
