Great Hosts

This was an honest 5 star experience the house was amazing. Super clean with great amenities. Very worth the $.The host was very communicative and quick to respond when needed. We loved the Dock and short drive to the beach. Overall it was a great experience.

Beautiful Home with Plenty of Amenities

We loved staying at this home. The open concept and high ceilings make it feel very spacious. We had 8 family members and there was plenty of room. House was very clean and well equipped with kitchen items as well as games for the kids.

Superb location & Quiet Home

We had a great time at this Ocean Shores home. We had 5 adults with plenty of room. Only about a 5 minute walk to Damon Point and a beautiful view of the canal from the covered patio. The host was super attentive and answered all of our questions.

Quiet Modern Retreat

This newish home on water offers a delightful opportunity to observe the deer and variety of birds and other critters that inhabit the ocean area. Very spacious and well-appointed kitchen and luxurious master bath make this a go-to place. Communicating with the property manager was smooth and house instructions were easy to follow.

Fantastic Ocean Getaway

This was our family’s second stay at the Black Pearl house and it definitely lived up to the expectations we had from our first visit. The house was clean and stocked with many conveniences of home…coffee/tea, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We enjoyed the outdoor patio and playing darts after the kids went to bed. Short walks to the beach and Oyhut Bay Village were fun adventures. Heidi was a great host; easy to communicate with and very responsive. We had 4 adults and 3 kids in the group and had plenty of space in the Black Pearl house. Highly recommend staying here while visiting Ocean Shores!

We had the most wonderful time and the house was perfect. One problem, two of the dinning chairs had screws that were missing and we looked all over the floor for the missing screws and never found them so we set the chairs aside.

Fabulous headqarters for the Shorebird Festival

This is the nicest place we have ever stayed in Ocean Shores. Great access to various birdwatching locations. The home's location on the lagoon makes the home a great location for bird observations. The owners are quick to respond to any concerns. We look forward to staying there again.

Ideal property on the canal

The Black Pearl is the perfect property in Ocean Shores. This property is right on the canal and just a very short walk to Damon Beach so you get to beach walk and then come back to enjoy the canal view. The house itself was set up great and our grandkids wanted to move in because they had such a wonderful time. We will definitely be staying here again.

Bird watching

An extremely comfortable home, great headquarters for our hikes associated with birdwatching during the shore, bird festival. When we were not on hikes, the patio with a view of the lagoon was an excellent place to make observations. The hosts were fabulous, great communication. We will be back.

Just...WOW!

It's called the Black Pearl, but it's really a diamond!! I'm so glad we found this property! We will definitely stay here again. A fully appointed kitchen with all the appliances a person could need, very nice linens and towels, lots of games and outdoor adventure gear. The weather wasn't fabulous while we were there (shocking, I know!) But we did have one morning and one evening on the deck enjoying the fireplace. That was our favorite part of the stay. As was mentioned in another review, it can get a little loud because of the high ceilings, but otherwise it was very comfortable and inviting property. The check in/check out procedures were very easy. We'll be back!

Highly Recommend

By far one of the best vacation rentals we have stayed at thus far. The house has high ceilings and tall windows/doors looking out to the lake which brings in so much natural light. The bedrooms are cozy and clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. There was an area for everyone to do their own thing whether it be drinking coffee in the mornings outside on the patio to reading books or watching movies upstairs to catching up with work by the fireplace. We wanted a small get away for Spring Break where we could disconnect from life and reconnect as a family and this house/location gave us exactly that. We spent a day at the beach digging up razor clams and taught our kids how to clean/cook our catch for dinner while having game night by the fireplace. We even saw some deer during our daily jogs through the neighborhood which was a huge treat. This house gave us memories that we will keep forever so thank you for letting us stay here. We will definitely be coming back!

Black Pearl Hideaway

This house fit perfectly with my family! The house is super clean and new! All the bedrooms are on the main level. The dining table is long and seats many. Perfect for playing Monopoly or games. The upstairs media room has a LOT of DVD’s to watch. That room can also sleep more using a blow up mattress as stated in the ad. We needed a pet free house due to allergies and this one was perfect. The location is more to the jetty than Ocean Shores and located on one of the canals with its own dock. We were able to row to a lake and explore. The garage has extra bikes, life jackets, fishing poles, a dart board and toys. The gas barbecue allowed us to have burgers on the grill. I brought my own bike and rode all over as there are lots of back streets with little traffic, but even Point Brown Avenue has a wide bike lane. The owner, Heidi is easy to communicate with if you have any questions. This is a VRBO that I will definitely mention to family and friends who are looking for a private, ocean getaway.

Amazing Property

This is an incredible property, with a great location and even better hosts. I hate to encourage people to stay here....it's going to be harder to get a reservation. Didn’t want to leave and even extended our stay 1 more night. Honestly, I have stayed at some wonderful accommodations, but this was the best. To sit out in the evening by the fire, with an adult libation, was nirvana. Great beds, no complaints from any family member, plenty of "toys" to enjoy. 2nd floor accommodation worked out great for my 20 year old nephew. The older folks stayed on the first floor and enjoyed all of the appointments, TV with plenty of channels, fireplace, Awesome speaker for your digital music and dependable wifi. If you haven't been to Ocean Shores before, there's an IGA, small but has necessities and ACE has everything else. I bought live crab on the way in but neither the House or IGA had a crab pot so I had to make do a different way. I happened to mention it to our host after we left and they immediately went out and bought one for the house. You won't regret your stay.
