A wonderful week at Villa Gemelli

just returned from a great week at Villa Gemelli. Reza ( the owner) was extremely responsive to any questions and Irma ( who is on the ground there) was very helpful with arranging things for us. We had dinner prepared for us for the first evening ( great for a late arrival - and delicious!), Irma arranged a wine tasting at Podere Panta Rei which was wonderful, and we had an amazing feast prepared by Luisa and others. I would highly recommend all these things. The only slight drawback this past week was the heat. While they were plenty of strong fans in all the rooms which were very effective, if you are sensitive to heat, be aware that the house is not air conditioned. This is not a criticism of the house at all but something I didn’t think about. Overall we had a fabulous time. Thank you for sharing your house with us and looking after us so well!!

Wonderful Volterra vacation!

The home was just as described; 5 bedrooms with nice baths, kitchen fully equipped and Very easy communication with Irma the property manager. She is fluent in english. Location perfect for seeing many of the small charming Tuscany Villages around the area within 30-40 minutes and just one hour from Sienna. As each family returned at night we had wine and appetitizers is under the beautiful Tuscan moon. Our 2nd night was special in that Irma arranged a special home cooked Italian meal with Louisa and mama doing the cooking, serving and cleaning up. The lasagna was excellent! Would definitely book again on our next trip to Tuscany. The McQuiddy family.

Perfect villa

The pictures don’t do this villa justice. Beautiful area, huge house, great amenities. All you need for a relaxing stay. Luisa is great, very warm and welcoming. Don’t skip the private chef experience- Julia, Sarah, and Luisa made an amazing home cooked meal, definitely one of our favorite dinners of the trip

Beautiful Villa

We had an absolutely amazing time. The contact person on sight, Irma was so helpful and accommodating. We felt spoiled by the welcome basket we received. The house was very clean and well appointed. It held 4 couples easily. The only negative I would say was we couldn’t use the pool (which is one of the main reasons we chose this villa). The mosquitoes were just too overwhelming. It was a very hot June In Volterra and we couldn’t open up all of the windows because the screens were either torn or not there. We were concerned about the mosquitoes getting inside. The location is ideal for traveling to other cities like Sienna and Florence if you have a car! We also arranged through Irma for a dinner to be made for us at the Villa. Highly recommend! The ladies made an incredible dinner and were so accommodating with our special dietary needs! All in all a great place!

Magnifique propriété au cœur de la Toscane

Nous avons passé une superbe semaine dans cette propriété proche de plusieurs lieux d’intérêt! Terrain de tennis, piscine et jacuzzi ont ravis grands et petits. Nous avons trouvé plein de petites attentions lors de notre arrivée qui attestent, une fois de plus, du soin qu’il est apporté aux locataires de cette maison. Reza donne de nombreuses informations très utiles et a à cœur de nous faire passer un bon séjour! La maison est entourée de collines d’où l’on peut observer de nombreux animaux tels que biches, oiseaux, etc! Nous recommandons sans réserve!

Très belle propriété.

Très belle propriété disposant de tout le confort nécessaire. Nous étions 10 et nous n'avons pas eu l impression de nous marcher dessus. Le court de tennis était bien entretenu, le jacuzzi était parfait et la piscine ,bien qu en hivernage semble très agréable, pour ceux qui seront la à la belle saison c est un lieu calme et tranquille. Merci à Luisa et Irma à qui nous avons demandé d organiser un repas Toscan à domicile et qui nous ont fait passer un agréable moment.

Mooi huis en rustige prachtige omgeving

Dit mooie huis is uitstekend geschikt voor families en kinderen. Er is veel ruimte zowel Binnen als buiten. Elke slaapkamer een eigen badkamer! Grote keuken waarin alles aanwezig is om lekker te koken. Mooi uitzicht op het terras buiten. Wij hebben geen gebruik gemaakt van het zwembad maar wel van de jacuzzi! Volterra is fichtbij

Hochzeit in der Toskana

Das Haus verbindet den Charme eines alten toskanischen Landhauses mit heutiger Modernität. Die Bilder in der Anzeige sind absolut authentisch und sprechen für sich. Das Haus liegt in ruhiger ländlicher Lage, nur 15 Minuten Autofahrt von Volterra entfernt, abends kann man die Lichter Volterras sehr schön von der Terrasse aus sehen. Wir haben uns ab dem ersten Tag sehr wohl gefühlt, was auch dem herzlichen Empfang von Irma und ihrem Team zu verdanken ist. Wir haben das Haus mit insgesamt 7 Personen bewohnt und dort einen schönen Familienurlaub inklusive Hochzeit verlebt. Irma und ihr Team haben uns während der Hochzeitsfeier mit einem leckeren toskanischen Menü verwöhnt und auch eine super leckere Hochzeitstorte gebacken. Sie hatten damit einen großen Anteil daran, dass wir einen unvergesslichen Hochzeitstag hatten. Lasst Euch dieses kulinarische Erlebnis nicht entgehen! In 5 Minuten Entfernung vom Haus betreibt Irma das Restaurant Molino D'Era. Auch hier kann man lecker essen oder auch Pizza bestellen. Wir möchten uns ganz herzlich bei Reza bedanken, der uns immer super schnell bei Fragen behilflich war und natürlich auch beim gesamten Team vor Ort, welches einfach immer super hilfsbereit und freundlich für uns da war. Wir können das Haus aus tiefstem Herzen empfehlen!

Perfekter Familienurlaub

Das Haus, der Pool, der Tennisplatz alles war perfekt. Wir haben es sehr genossen. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen und umsorgt. Herrlich ist die Ruhe und die vielen Rehe und Hasen die man in der Dämmerung zu sehen bekommt. Wir waren Anfang August und haben jeden Abend Sternschnuppen geschaut.

Truly outstanding

Everything we wanted. Period. First, the hosts - online and locally - were consistently responsive, kind and helpful. Lots of suggestions when we asked and quick with anything requested. Second, the house is very easy to be inside together because the bedrooms are spaced far apart and there are multiple indoor social areas — and the grounds offer a lot of options to relax and to be active, as you prefer. The seating area can easily accommodate 12 and the height of the ceiling and openness of the layout make it feel spacious. The fireplace is lovely, the availability of two separate living rooms gives flexibility, and the chairs outdoors make it even more appealing for a larger group. The outdoor options included plenty to keep our kids off screens. Depending on what you enjoy, you can enjoy the more or less polished aspects of the outdoor environment. (It’s not overly refined - it retains the natural aspect of being embedded in the physical environment - thank goodness!!). You have many options of things to do with tennis, pool, or jacuzzi. The pool and jacuzzi are well maintained and clean - lovely ways to be in the natural environment in comfort. We read reviews that said you get more than you realize from the site and the photos. This is true. If what you see here meets your needs, it is going to be wonderful. Just book it. We’ll be recommending to our family and friends to join us here on our next visit to Tuscany. A+++

Traumhafter und erholsamer Urlaub!!

Der Check-In war Dank der sehr guten Kommunikation schnell und unkompliziert. Vom ersten Moment hat uns das Anwesen total überzeugt und so sollte es auch bleiben. Jedes Zimmer hat sein eigenes Bad und die Küche ist bestens ausgestattet. Draußen finden sich genügend Liegen und ein großer Tisch zum gemeinsamen Frühstücken, Mittagessen und Abendessen. Die Lage ist schön ruhig mit traumhaftem Blick. Der Pool wird jeden Tag gereinigt und hatte eine angenehme Temperatur. Auch der Tennisplatz wurde fleißig von uns genutzt. Schläger und Bälle sind Vorort. Bei Fragen zu Einkaufsmöglichkeiten oder zu Restaurants wurde uns immer zügig weitergeholfen. Insgesamt ein perfekter Urlaub! VIELEN DANK!

Perfekter Urlaub!

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Urlaub in dem Haus von Reza - vielen Dank nochmal für die unkomplizierte und spontane Buchung des Hauses. Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig und hat all unsere Anforderungen an ein Ferienhaus erfüllt. Auch Irma und Luisa waren jederzeit erreichbar, falls man etwas benötigt hat. Wir kommen auf alle Fälle wieder!

Wonderful week in Tuscany

We had a wonderful week at the Villa Gemelli. I would stay here again, and hopefully, will be able to bring my family back to stay. Reza was so great to communicate with. Very attentive. Luisa, Irma and Giovanni take care of the house, as Reza is in the UK. The house is very well appointed, comfortable, lots of things to do, if you feel like staying in. I would highly suggest hiring Luisa and Irma to come in and prepare a 5 course dinner - lots of fun, and delicious. Overall, we had 3 couples and everyone was very impressed, and had a great stay. 5 stars!!!

Well equipped

We rented the "wing" which consisted of 3 bedrooms, and was perfect for the 5 of us. We still had all the downstairs living quarters which were spacious and well equipped. The villa is set up for 12 people, so there is plenty of crockery and cutlery, large dining facilities and a comfortable lounge area with Sky TV which could be set to English if the programme was originally in this language. The villa is fairly sparcely furnished in the bedrooms, but this makes it easier to find everything when you come to pack up! The bathrooms were plentiful and clean. Outside, the gardens have grown a lot more than the photographs, so the views are not as spectacular but does allow privacy, and the villa is nicely located for easy access to villages and towns but also remote enough not to be on top of others. Giovanni and Luisa are available to assist and are very friendly. Google translate comes in very handy but Giovanni has good English and they are very tolerant trying to understand attempts at Italian! They clean the pool early every day, mowed the grass when we were there, and assisted with locating 3 lakes nearby where you can fish for carp and catfish (take your own fishing gear) The only negative side really was that the pool was freezing despite 30 degree temperatures. It is overhung by a number of trees, but not quite sure why it was so cold. If there is the option of heating and you plan on spending a lot of time in the pool, it would be worthwhile. Italian roads are narrow and have frequent hairpin steep bends so an automatic car would be an advantage too.

Luxury Villa in Tuscan Paradise

As our holidays are "sacred" for us, and our large family is spoilt, demanding and taxing, we select our holiday accommodation with great care and extreme attention to details. With Villa Gemelli we have found for the first time that all our requirements were really fulfilled and our high expectations were actually exceeded. We have stayed regularly in a variety of holiday homes in Tuscany and Umbria and this property is now at the top of our wish list and we have promised ourselves that we will return time and again. The villa is meticulously clean and well maintained and its generous dimensions allow for the kids to 'run riot' without disturbing the parents' peace and quiet. We had memorable meals on the shaded, panoramic terrace with magnificent views to the spectacular Etruscan city of Volterra. The location is unique as it is both tranquil and yet close to excellent restaurants and historic cities like Pisa, San Geminiano and Florence, as well as the seaside, all easily reached within forty five minutes. The caretakers provide an excellent and unobtrusive service with the cleaning of the pool and the upkeep of the gardens and cooked excellent Tuscan meals at our request . Many of the ingredients are home grown and their traditional cuisine provided a great unexpected dimension to an extremely enjoyable holiday.
