spectacular views. The perfect base for exploring all the peninsula has on offer; diverse wildlife, extensive walking tracks, a dedicated bike lane to the city, eco-tourism and great food. Wide steps lead you down from easy roadside parking to the balcony that surrounds this stunning one bedroom house. Enjoy the seamless indoor-outdoor connection from living space to balcony and take in the harbour view over a well maintained remnant of native bush, and adjacent farmland. You will feel like you are away from it all, while still being in easy access to the city, only17kms away. The house is well set up to allow simple food preparation, while being just a five minute drive to the amenities of the Portobello village. These include a well stocked corner store/deli, pub, café, restaurant, and Fish & Chip shop. We aim to provide a tranquil space for guests who appreciate the value of time out.

Lovely place to stay

Lovely place to stay, the modern cottage has a nice outlook over the bay and neighbours farm land. It was well equipped with everything you need Good location to base yourself to explore the gorgeous Otago Peninsula. Access to the property is little challenging due to limited parking

Our 3 day stay at The Perch

The perch is a very well designed and comfortable place to stay. It has beautiful views across the bay and easy access by car to the locations we were wanting to visit as part of a tour around New Zealand. My only suggestion to the owners is that they warn them to shop for food before they arrive as there are very limited provisions available in the local shops and also there are limited cooking pans available in the property. This was a problem for us. Different size pans would have made cooking for two much easier. As long as people are aware of these two things then I am sure they will enjoy their stay in such an attractive place. I would recommend it and would return there if I ever come back to New Zealand.
