Vacation on the crest of a high elevation dune and savor a timeless vacation home with panoramic ocean to sound views when you reserve How Sweet The Sound. This bright and cheerful home offers a spacious floor plan and popular outdoor amenities. After a day at the beach, come home and take a refreshing dip in the private pool or gather around the fire pit while planning the next day's adventures under the stars. The pool can be heated certain times of the year, perfect for Spring and Fall getaways. Use the additional full-size fridge in the garage for storing extra groceries or the catch of the day.

Guests can also enjoy the Ocean Crest community amenities, including an outdoor pool, tennis courts and private beach access located just 705 yards from the house. The subdivision is just south of Duck Village, only a mile from the quaint town center filled with dining, shopping and recreation. A multi-use pathway along Duck Road allows for ease in strolling or biking to boutiques, eateries and the 11 acre town park with seasonal family friendly events and a soundside boardwalk.

Updates made in 2023: Granite countertops, tile backsplash and new sinks installed in the kitchen; New dining table and chairs; Carpeting in bedrooms replaced with hardwood flooring; New carpeting on stairs; New 4" memory foam mattress on sleeper sofa; New TV in second floor bedroom and all TV's now feature Roku; Four new chaise loungers for the pool area; Baths for both king suites fully renovated with new walk-in showers; Fully renovated half bath New paint in the hall bath; Decor updates throughout!

Generally this house was exactly what we needed and were looking for during our stay in OBX. We appreciate the spacious room that the house provided for our large family. The kitchen was a great size, and all of the utensils and dishes that we would have wanted or needed were provided. Plenty of extra blankets were available if and when we needed. We did not rate this property as excellent / 5 stars because the house was not clean 100% when we arrived. Dressers still had personal items in them, things like bandaid wrappers and other trash were located under beds and around nightstands, and the garbage cans outside were overflowing and completely full when we arrived. We had to call twice and they were not emptied until late the second day we were there. Overall, we still had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the property.
