Lovely, private, bach with very comfy beds.

Great little property, with excellent facilities. As we were a group of 4 retirees we did miss a dining table and chairs as we prefer to cook ourselves and play cards at night, but otherwise very comfortable and excellent assistance when we had trouble with a can opener

Sunny, Cute and Cozy

This place is small but provides all that you need including a lovely sunny deck. It's a short walk to shops and hospitality. We really enjoyed our stay, Thanks!

A Cozy Kiwi Retreat in Te Anau

We had a wonderful stay at THE BACH in Te Anau! This small kiwi bach is the perfect cozy retreat, close to town yet tucked away in a peaceful setting. The place was clean, and comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The hosts were friendly and responsive, making check-in and check-out a breeze. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a charming place to stay in Te Anau!

Routeburn recovery

A homely wee crib

Lots of care has gone into this crib to ensure all who stay feel welcomed. Easy to find, and an easy walk to the town centre. A great spot for a visit to Te Anau. Thanks Karla and Andrew :)

Everything you need and more

This is a super place to stay. Cosy and quirky. Great to sample an iconic part of NZ history and culture. It was a short walk to pick up the Luxe bus tour to Milford Sound. It had everything we needed and more. Comfortable beds with warm quilts, a nice outdoor deck. A great place to cook for yourself. Would definitely choose it again.

Peaceful dwelling

Property was lovely and clean, freshly renovated and the kitchen was well stocked with pantry supplies which made it easy to cook dinner. One of the double bedrooms is in the living room as a side room with no door or curtain, which could be problematic if you wanted privacy. Didn’t affect my stay as it was only myself and a friend and we took a room each. Hosts were really great with communication. We had a lovely stay and would definitely book again.

Bach Humbug - 2 retired couples Feb 24-26 2024

I have been using VRBO for over 20 years and have rented many properties. This is one of the worst. The bach was advertised as a 3 bedroom. It has 2 rooms with no closets. One serving as a small master bedroom and the other a single bedroom approx 56 square feet in size, the size of a nursery. There are no outlets to plug the bedroom table lamps in. The third bedroom is where the dining area used to be. It is still open to the living area and kitchen with no privacy. It is basically a bed in the living area. Since the dining area now has a bed in it, there is no table and chairs indoors to eat at. There is a bistro table with four chairs on the deck and a tired old picnic table in the backyard. The only toilet is at one end of the house and shower and sink at the other. The kitchen has approx 8 sq ft of counter space. The deck is new and the BBQ is nice but those are the only two good points of the “wee” bach. The ad for this VRBO is very misleading. I would not recommend this property to anyone in good conscience. It is a money grab at best.

Good little spot

The small kitchen was surprisingly stocked - better than other places we stayed (instant coffee but no maker, we bought a press in town). There’s both indoor & outdoor space, we used both. We liked the covered deck. Large yard, felt spacious, semi-private. Grateful to have use of a clothes washer. One of the bedrooms had bedside lamps, but no outlets for them to work. I had questions & they responded quickly. Quiet neighborhood, peaceful stay.
