Historiska vattnet hem med stora utsikt över Chesapeake Bay

Foxcroft, en härlig, två berättelse hem platser på 5 tunnland med utsikt över Nassawadox Creek och Chesapeake Bay. Denna perfekta Eastern Shore reträtt är 45 minuter från Norfolk International Airport och en timme från Virginia Beach. Till fastigheten hör en djupt vatten brygga för bad, fiske och båtliv. Piren ligger i anslutning till en offentlig båt ramp för enkel lansering av dina motorbåt, segelbåt, kajaker och kanoter. Eller bara sitta på de anpassade bänkar i slutet av piren och titta på den vackra solnedgången över Chesapeake Bay.

Huset har en nyrenoverad, öppet koncept kök och allrum med en braskamin och nya apparater. Matbordet plats 8 bekvämt och dubbla vardagsrum har gott om plats för underhållande med stora utsikt över vattnet. Den anpassade skärm veranda ger ytterligare sittplatser och matplats och är en underbar oas med takfläkt och utsikt över ån.

På övervåningen finns tre sovrum och två badrum. Det stora sovrummet har en king size-säng (kan delas upp i två singlar) och den andra och tredje sovrum båda har två enkelsängar. Rummen är smakfullt inredda i en avslappnad stil.

Det finns massor av roliga familjeaktiviteter på grund inklusive en stor utomhus picknickbord ser över vattnet, pingisbord, majs hål och badminton. Njut av lata promenader runt vattnet byn Bayford. Utforska närliggande stränder med båt, kanot eller kayack eller planerat en sit ser resa till havet sidan Barrier Islands med kapten Buddy. Dyka och simma utanför piren eller fånga din middag av krabba eller fisk direkt från piren.

Foxcoft är 5 minuter med bil eller bäcken till Chatham Vineyards där du kan njuta av en rundtur i vingårdar och vingård med en provsmakning rum att prova sina viner. Barrier Island Center Museum ligger 10 minuter bort och ger en underbar historia av östra stranden och dess invånare. Signatur golfbanor av Palmer och Nicholas är en 20 minuters bilresa från Foxcroft. Chincoteague Island är en 30 minuters bilresa till njuta av den vackra staden, cykelleder och stränder.

Beautiful view

We enjoyed our stay and plan to return. The home is beautiful and has great views of the water. My husband and I really enjoyed the peace and quiet at the house and being able to head to the nearby areas like Cape Charles to explore.

Eastern Shore Heaven

Foxcroft far exceeded our every expectation. The historic home is both beautiful and well appointed. The sunset views and wildlife watching from the dock were a highlight of our stay. The location is very peaceful and feels remote, but you're still close enough to get to the highlights of the Eastern Shore. We hope to get back here soon! And for those visiting the area for the first time, please make time to visit the Barrier Island Visitor center.

Way beyond expectations

We were a family of 4 (2 young kids) staying here for a week, and upon driving up to the property and house we weren't sure we had the right place because it was so much prettier than the pictures. We then saw 3 houses, and were a bit confused as to which to go to. We passed the biggest one thinking we were in one of the smaller ones, when a nice neighbor who lives there came to greet us, and told us we were indeed in the larger house. I can't stress enough how much more beautiful and large the house is inside than the pictures lead you to believe. Our time there was the relaxation we needed, and being off-season made it all the more lovely. The neighbors who live next door are a bonus to it all! Kind, helpful, and fun to talk to with great knowledge of the area and its history (my kids loved them and their dog, looking forward each morning to when the neighbors would come out!).

Beautiful home with amazing water views and natural beauty!

Spent a week at Foxcroft last week. In between fishing for cobia, red drum, and bluefish, we enjoyed Foxcroft's spacious kitchen, multiple screened-in porches and comfortable sitting rooms. The pier is awesome, with a fish cleaning station and 25' depths at its end (great if you want to catch your dinner). We saw eagles, peregrine falcons, stingrays, and all manner of other wildlife. Night brought extraordinary views of the milky way, and the sounds of fish and shrimp on the surface of Nassawaddox Creek. Our one issue during our stay: A second floor toilet wasn't functioning and leaked water into the downstairs bathroom. Patrick was immediately available, and had a plumber rushed in to fix the issue. They replaced the toilet by early the next morning. All in all, it was a highly enjoyable trip, and I hope to do it again next year!

Scenic getaway

Overall our stay was fine as we didn’t encounter any major problems or issues. We enjoyed the pier, particularly fishing and crabbing. There is not much in the area in terms of activities, so be prepared accordingly. There were a handful of items which led to us downgrading the property as these are not clear in the listing. First, while you could possibly swim off the pier it is not recommended. The current there is very strong and is not recommended for anyone who is lot a strong swimmer. The ladder to get back up on the pier is also covered in barnacles/shells making it a bit tricky to get up. One slip, as our teen daughter learned and your foot was cut. Second, the property sits on 5 acres however there is a second guest house about 25 ft from where you are residing. This is occupied year round by Captain Buddy and Laura. No problems in this area but if you are looking for something with more privacy this could be a concern. Overall, it was a nice stay and we enjoyed our time. We may have gone in a different direction had we known that swimming would be near impossible. The fishing and crabbing were great though!

Sister's Trip

We enjoyed our trip to the eastern shore and our stay at Foxcroft. The historic home and property were lovely with endlesss views and beautiful sunsets over the water. We enjoyed quiet walks around the area and trips to Tangier (ferry reservation a must), Chincoteague, Saturday flea market in Exmore, several trips to Cape Charles and lots of local shops along Route 13. Very much enjoyed the house which was just as described. The bathrooms were not mentioned in the review, but they too are nice . Bedroom 3 (with it's own bath} also has it's own stairs or can be accessed through bedroom 2 with a lock off door. All of the rooms were nicely decorated and homey. Enjoyed our stay! Would like to visit again!

Great vacation experience in the beautiful Eastern Shore!!

Our family had a great vacation with this rental property. Captain Buddy and Laura were fantastic and greeted us as we drove into the driveway on the first day. Captain Buddy gave us some great fishing tips and we caught many fish right off the dock. The house is beautiful and we loved the history of the surrounding area that Laura and Captain Buddy shared with us. The renovations to the inside of the house were gorgeous and we were very impressed with how nice and well decorated the interior was. We spent much time on the dock catching fish, crabbing, and enjoying the sunsets. Beautiful sunsets, excellent people, and great atmosphere. The house/property are beautiful and this has certainly been one of the nicest vacations properties we have ever stayed in. We thank Captain Buddy, Laura, and the Gill family for allowing us to have such a great vacation!

Summer Holiday

I rented this property to get away and enjoy the beauty ESVA has to offer. The property is beautiful and so peaceful. The house is equipped with anything you could possibly need including pans for a clambake. The neighbors are lovely and so very helpful. We pretty much lived on the porch and the dock. We enjoyed all the wildlife and the beautiful sunsets.

Perfect relaxing spring break

We loved our stay! It was more like being at a family home than at some rental property. So clean and comfy! The location is great for fishing right off the dock, playing a game of ball in the huge front yard and relaxing on the porch. We made plenty of trips to Cape Charles and enjoyed the town!

Beautiful house in a great location

The house is beautiful, clean and well-equipped (especially the kitchen). We swam (keeping an eye out for occasional jellyfish) and fished from our private dock, and enjoyed the beautiful sunsets over the bay. Several nice beaches 40-60 minutes drive from the house, but plenty of other interesting things to do for those who are not interested in the beach. Our nice neighbor, Captain Buddy Vaughn, took us out to the Barrier Islands one day, and we also spent a day taking the ferry to Tangiers Island. We would also strongly recommend a visit to the Barrier Islands Center in Machipongo. Overall a wonderful vacation!

A Quiet Piece of the Old South

The family thoroughly enjoyed the house and property. The house is well maintained and charming. We lived on the dock, caught a few crabs, caught 50 croaker and spot one day, and enjoyed reading and sipping wine while watching the heron, osprey and eagles going about their business.

Fantastic Eastern Shore Vacation

Absolutely beautiful home and property. We are looking to retire on the eastern shore and we were able to go all thru the creeks and bays with our boat exploring. Home is very conveniently located on the southern tip of the shore. House was well stocked and had everything we needed and more. Thank you Buddy for giving us local waterway knowledge and experiences. Great advice. Thank you for renting your home to us.

Beautiful house and gorgeous property

We arrived to a very clean house with stunning property. We were traveling with my 3 children and my mother. We enjoyed fishing off the dock (spying some stingrays too :), eating outside in the screened in porch, and some beach and shopping at Cape Charles. The sunsets were amazing. The neighbors were beyond helpful with any suggestions and we enjoyed chatting with Buddy and his wife and their pup Dolly too. Ride to Cape Charles was about 20 minutes- a straight shot and we enjoyed the shopping and bay beach days. House was spacious and welcoming. I did have to work a day or two while I was there virtually, and had no trouble connecting my computer and hosting a Webex conference call. We will return.
