  • Comfortable, good location

"This location of this place is great. It's very near to the grocery store (IGA), starbuck, mcdonald, restaurants, rexall. Basically those are in the same block as the building. Children play area is right by the building. Gondola is about 10~15 min walk from the unit and you will enjoy the beautiful Olympic village while going there. So that walk will be like sightseeing. Unit has secured parking. The balcony is small, view blocked by the tree but you can have fresh air. The tool right beside the window will have a nice view of the mountain and the courtyard. The kitchen is equipped with everything. We had no problem to cook full meal. Bath room is spacious. There is a king bed and sofa bed which go enough for our small family. Pros: It can be tricky to get the key and find the entrance when you arrived. So allow some time at your arrival. Will like to stay here again in our next trip."

  • Extremely pleased with the cabin and owner!

"We stayed for 2 nights at this fabulous cabin. Mike was extremely accommodating, I called him numerous times before and during our stay for some questions on the facilities and fishing, he was extremely patient and friendly when we spoke. We traveled with 8 (7 adults and a 2 yr old), the cabin was spacious and the property was quiet and private. We saw some seals and sea lions while fishing on the private docks and we had BBQ on the porch, it was very relaxing! This is our first time to Egmont and Mike have definitely made it worth while! Thanks Mike! :)"

  • Wonderful beach holiday but would also be awesome in winter! You will NOT be disappointed!

"My husband and 2 late teen/adult age children just got back from an incredible vacation at Mark and Barb's beautiful cabin in Halfmoon Bay! The pictures don't do it justice! This is a low bank waterfront property RIGHT ON the beach (its a bit rocky as most are on the Sunshine Coast - bring your watershoes) and a big front lawn DIRECTLY off the beach. They had 2 kayaks and a canoe which we could use which we definitely did - it was awesome! The beach was great for walking and collecting shells, rocks, and driftwood. We brought our own lounge chairs and spent the afternoon enjoying the sun on the front lawn but never felt too hot because of the beautiful ocean breeze. If we did, the ocean was lovely to swim in. We also built a campfire on the beach right in front of the lawn one evening which was so beautiful. The great room and kitchen of the house may have the quaint woodsy look of a cabin as seen in the pictures, but don't let the pictures deceive you, it not only has tons of windows overlooking the breathtaking view, it has all the amenities of home - a kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, tons of dishes, pots and pans, whatever you could need; a TV with lots of cable channels, a fireplace, even games provided; and a lovely deck with a BBQ and table, chairs and umbrella overlooking the amazing view. On the upper level, the look was totally modern with 3 good sized bedrooms and a full bathroom - the master had a gorgeous view of the ocean. Also there is another bathroom downstairs off the lawn if you're in a hurry! Although the temperatures were starting to climb during our stay, the house is well shaded in the morning so never got too hot (except when we baked something in the oven but the fan they provided cooled things off nicely). In the winter, each of the bedrooms has their own thermostat so I'm sure it would be just as beautiful and cozy. Although, as the owners say, they have a work building on the property that they may be at during the day, it is totally separate and well behind the house - we never saw them until we checked out. It definitely felt like we had our own place but it was nice to have them available to orient us and we knew they were available if we needed anything. Our plan was to make this our base and explore the Sunshine Coast but we were so enamored, we never left the house! So relaxing and comfortable. A truly great vacation!"

  • Beautiful clean lake, well stocked and comfortable home.

"My husband and I loved our time at Ruby Lake. The water is perfect for swimming and paddling in. We paddle boarded, kayaked, and canoed around the shores. We found the rope swing on the far side of the lake, whoohoo! Your home was welcoming, comfortable, clean, well organized and well stocked. It is also HUGE! Next time we are bringing more friends and family to stay. The back porch is lovely for coffee in the morning to catch the first rays of the sun, and later in the day to get out of the heat. The sunny big deck is perfect for barbecues and dining. (I would love to see a lounger or two on the deck for those of us who want to read a book in the sunshine.) Would recommend going to Ruby Lake Resort to watch the beavers in the lagoon. We are so grateful that you allow pets. Our fur baby enjoyed her swim time too. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. Hope to return soon."
