  • Great time in an awesome home!

"Our large group of 10 enjoyed every minute in this beautiful home. We had more than enough room to spread out, but mostly enjoyed having spaces large enough to hang out together. We cooked breakfast nearly every day in the well equiped kitchen. Spend at least some time at the pool daily - other parts of the day really loved that there was lots of beach gear (chairs, coolers, boogie boards). We spend nearly every evening with a drink on the lovely roof top. The house was ready and spotless for our 3am arrival. Craig emailed to check on us to make sure we had everything we needed. We even had to call him for advice when one of our group lost a passport - he had the answers for us!! We happily recommend this home for large groups. Hope to see you again, as we are huge Rincon fans!"

  • A Gem overlooking the Ocean

"We had a wonderful stay at Windswept 2 in July 2016. It's a cozy, 2-story, tropical condo that shares a pool and courtyard area with three similar residences. It was comfortable, clean as a whistle, and well-maintained. There were numerous supplies provided that I'd stressed about forgetting to pack: bug spray & zappers, flashlights, & batteries, drinking water, coffee, beach towels, scuba gear -- all left for guest comfort and much appreciated. The internet and TV worked fine. There was a washer & dryer, although we packed amply and didn't need to use it. The air conditioning and ceiling fans in the two upstairs bedrooms helped us all sleep well (and many other rentals on the Island have no A/C, so beware if you are going there in the summer.) The downstairs has no A/C, but with the constant breeze through the jalousie windows, it was OK. The breeze also kept the mosquitos and bugs away, as we never saw any there. We miss the sound of the wind on the hilltop (Windswept is aptly named!) and the beautiful view of St. Thomas and the twinkling lights at night. We were on Water Island for a family event and reunion, and many relatives were staying at a different, larger and more pricey rental where the A/C was out way more than it worked, and there were some plumbing and various maintenance issues. It was such a pleasure after staying there for a few days to head back to the comforts of Windswept 2, where all was in order and everything worked! This even extended to the included golf cart (the mode of transportation on this tiny island.) Our Windswept cart worked better than any that our friends & relatives rented. Windswept 2 is up on a ridge overlooking the ocean. When you take the golf cart to the end of the block, there is a sign that says: "Stop, Den Go!" Only problem I had as our designated driver (who is also admittedly directionally impaired), was that I didn't know where to go! I took many wrong turns and got lost a couple of times. Water Island is tiny and only has a few roads, but they aren't really marked, so keep that in mind. It actually added to the fun in retrospect, but if it rains or you're in a rush, try to find a map of the island that shows where everything is located. Water Island's Honeymoon Beach is great, with a bar/casual restaurant at each end: Heidi's and Dinghy's, which had great frozen drinks and movie & karaoke nights. Side trips were Mountaintop on St. Thomas and a bus tour of St. John (via ferry)."

  • Great Owner and property is ideal for a quiet vacay!

"My 12 year old grand sailed in a regatta at the St Thomas Yacht Club that is just paces from the pool at the Anchorage. I asked her to comment on the condo and she said, "pretty" and "Amazing!" The view is spectacular from this 3rd floor unit and the condo is large with 3 bedrooms. The furnishings are just fine for a beach place and they are cute. The large porch is perfect for reading, watching the sailing and just being quiet. 12 days without car noise, pollution, and all of the hurried confusion of a city in this quiet place was terrific, clean, lots of towels (beach and bath), games, books to read, great TV and Cable (a must when you have kids). New front loading W/D and good dishwasher were a plus and it is located within a mile of Red Hook and great pizza and home made ice cream! The tennis courts are in great shape and there is a gym as well. We had a car (very cheap through Thrifty) and used it to go to St. John for a day trip and many trips to Red Hook for casual suppers, shopping for groceries and sun tan spray at Moes. Made one trip to KMart. Picked up friends at the airport. Tiny island really and while the distance is short the windy roads and slower traffic made for a 40 min drive to the airport. About the owner: Don Norkus is without a doubt the nicest and most patient owner ever. We had a zillion questions and an a/c issue and he was right on top of all that was going on. After the A/C issue was fixed, he treated us to a fancy dinner at the nicest place about 5 min away from the condo.I would definitely want to rent his unit again. About the APP: Definitely a great way to communicate and have all information you need at your fingertips (WiFi passwords, contacts, recommendations for restuarants, etc)."

  • Tropical Ocean Breezes, Beautiful Balconey Sunsets, Great Location!

"We 4 stayed here for 8 nights and found this place to be wonderful. We would definitely stay here again. We were able to leave the sliding doors and windows open when we were there and allow the tropical ocean breeze to flow through the place without ever really needing to use the A/C (but did run a floor fan that was provided at night). Despite no screens we never saw a mosquito or a no see um, and that was an unexpected but pleasant surprise! The owners were great, picking us up at the airport, giving us a short tutorial about the place, and then leaving us to play. We did stay in Rincon one night (Casa Islena - also recommended) because it is a 2.5 hour and somewhat tedious drive over to the west end of the island. It was nice to have the clothes dryer because otherwise things dry slowly with the humidity. Plumbing was all high quality and worked well. The king size bed was more comfortable than our bed at home! Go for it!"
