  • Great Apartment, Great Location - Worked perfectly for us

"We would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a great place to stay on a beautiful yet quiet beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will no doubt return in the future. The owner Keith could not have been more helpful and was very responsive to our emails. We really enjoyed the Palms resort, it's beautifully laid out and the sunsets were amazing! We found the staff went out of their way to be welcoming and did an excellent job of keeping the grounds, the pools and the beach in excellent condition. The pool has a nice bar at where you can order food & drinks during the day. FYI, we also had some very good meals at Coco Loco - the beachfront restaurant adjacent to the Palms."

  • Beautiful & Romantic

"The condo: This condo is so beautiful and romantic! My boyfriend and i had the most incredible time staying there. The condo is on the second floor, just a stones throw away from a small semi-private beach. The balcony is nestled in the palm trees and feels super tropical and private with the ocean completing the stunning view. We definitely took full advantage of the wifi to post pictures of that gorgeous view to Instagram and Snapchat haha. There is a table and two super comfy lounge chairs to enjoy the view from. We had breakfast and coffee on our balcony several times and it was absolutely wonderful! The living room has a couple of really comfortable recliners and a smart TV. On a few nights when we were exhausted from our adventures, we happily relaxed in the recliners and watched Netflix on the Smart TV! The AC works perfectly and it was so nice to come home to a cool condo after a day of running around. The kitchen is absolutely gorgeous! It is mostly marble and much more modern than I ever expected. It came fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, etc. and even had a blender to make pina coladas for my beach cup! There is also a traditional Costa Rican drip coffee maker and it made some of the best coffee I've ever had. The master bedroom is HUGE and was so comfortable! Since the little beach is so close, you can hear the waves crashing at night. I usually have trouble falling asleep, but the sound of the waves was so soothing... we have never slept better. We woke up so refreshed in the mornings too! There is plenty of storage space in the closet and they have a safe for your passports and valuables. We didn't use the other bedroom or bathroom, but they looked nice. I was (weirdly) excited about having a washing machine and a dryer because I didn't have to pack as much. I also tracked sand in the bed once and was glad I could wash the sheets. The area: Flamingof Beach is just a short walk down the hill. BEST. SUNSET. EVER. There is a little Plaza at the bottom of the hill with a few good restaurants. Marie's has a great breakfast and Angelina's has the best burger I've ever tasted. My absolute favorite place to eat, drink, and hang out was Las Catalinas. It's just a short drive through Potrero, but it is totally worth it. I think we went there about 6 times in a 9 day trip."

  • House was Great: Location/View...Neighbor with vicious, barking German Shepards was awful!

"We had a large group and were very comfortable at Casa Miramar. The house is very large and there was plenty of room for all of us to spread out. The view from the balcony is breathtaking and the highlight of the house. It was nice to jump in the pool during the day and soak in the Jacuzzi at night. We walked to the beach and local restaurants on several occasions and the hike back up to the house was good exercise! We rented a 4-wheel drive SUV, highly recommended for any of the Costa Rican unpaved roads! We made good use of it and drove to lots of the nearby beaches. Donald was great and cleaned the pool and balcony area daily. Marta made the beds and swept, but did not empty the trash in any of the bathrooms or kitchen. We also had trouble getting the appropriate number of bath towels for our party and had to share the first few days. We started out with only one spoon and after mentioning this to the rental staff, Marta brought up a handful the next day. The house could use more glasses and coffee cups. Also, we were told toilet tissue and paper towels were included, but we never got paper towels and were limited to 2 rolls of TP per bathroom for our 10-day stay. I would suggest charging $100 more per week and let people have as much TP & PT as they need! The staff at Special Places was very helpful answering emails and arranging excursions prior to our arrival. However, they seemed a bit disorganized after our arrival asking all in our party to come into the office to sign credit card receipts for our excursions despite us submitting a credit card authorization form prior to our arrival. They never mentioned we would have to come into the office and do this and it was a bit irritating since we wanted to start our vacation! The neighbor next door with the dogs was awful. She encouraged the dogs to bark at anyone walking by and the dogs barked at all hours of the day and night disturbing our sleep. The car gate at the bottom of the driveway needed repairing one day and the neighbor left the dogs outside to bark at the repairmen for hours. If you could get rid of the neighbor and her dogs, the house is ideal!"

  • beautiful beach front house

"the facilities, pool, location, beach, everything was truly first class. I would recommend this house to anyone, especially a family or larger group of people. there is a tremendous amount of room in the house, and also the yard that overlooks the ocean. it is especially user friendly due to the large kitchen and also the laundry room. I cannot think of anything that has been overlooked."
