  • Right on the beach! Quiet town, Esterillos Centro.

"This is a small, simple beach house that is right on the beach in a pretty quiet area. You have a small dirt road to cross and you are right on the sand. The price is excellent for basically having the beach to yourself. The neighbor and the neighborhood have quite a few free roaming dogs so if you are not an animal lover, you may want to look elsewhere (then again nearby towns also have free roaming dogs!) =D. We went during August so the ocean was quite mixed up. However, right in front of the hotel nearby is considered a good surf spot. The spot right in front of the house is pretty good for swimming but I recommend bringing boogie fins because of the strong currents. There were boogie boards available when we stayed, which was quite nice. We rented longboards from Brett in Esterillos Oeste (also a good surf spot), nice guy. The hotel/restaurant within walking distance has a pool table and great food. First time trying snook/robalo! House is not too far of a drive from Jacó or Manuel Antonio. Some advice: I highly recommend bringing good mosquito repellant. Also, you are very close to an estuary which is nice to walk through. Pamela and Claudette are very pleasant to talk to. Thanks again."

  • Spectacular house in an amazing location! I would go back in a minute.

"We loved the location because it was close to Jaco but in a smaller village. The setting, design and details of the house are amazing. It is very helpful having the property manager on site so that you can make inquiries about activities, restaurants, etc and the manager can assist with any repairs. We also rented the smaller house for the overflow and this worked well with our group."

  • Great Location, Helpful Hosts

"Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 young children) had a very pleasant stay at the property. The location was great - just a few minutes walk to Playa Bejuco. The property was easy to find coming from San Jose - just off the main highway. It was also in a secure gated environment, with a guard at the entrance barrier so we all felt safe within the grounds. And just a few minutes drive to supermarkets and shops. Also just a few minutes drive to a number of different adventure options such as the Rainmaker Park, Zip Lining and ATV Touring and about 40 minutes to Manuel Antonio National Park. There was a nice communal pool within the grounds which our children made good use of. Oskar was very helpful in responding to queries prior to booking and providing suggestions regarding car rentals and directions to the property. Greg and Arlene, the on site property managers were also helpful and prompt when we advised them that the air conditioning in one of the bedrooms was not working. It was promptly fixed the same day. A few suggestions to improve the rating further still. The shower head in the ensuite bathroom needs to be fixed as it was a little loose,, and some of the pots in the kitchen are a little old and could be replaced. As could the mop. These were just minor issues and did not detract for the enjoyment of our stay. Thank you Oskar, Arlene and Greg."

  • A hotel?!.... seriously?!

"Why on earth would you stay in a hotel, when you can stay at a wonderful house like this? Staying in a hotel is like staying the night at Wal-Mart... let that sink in... Seeing as I am a little behind in the number of positive reviews, let me make this short and simple. Have you ever tried telling somehow how awesome something is, but you know can't explain it, and even if you could they would never really get it because they didn't experience it? Well this is like that. The only part that isn't fun about this house, is all the time you spent looking at other houses or places to stay at online, when you could have just started right here. So do yourself a favor, and just stop. Stop right here, and go stay here. My wife and I stayed here for our 5th wedding anniversary. The second best part about staying here (other than the house itself and the owners) is the number of different things to do and see no matter what you like. There is even a world class sky diving place not far from the house. Not to mention volcanoes, rain forest, water falls, crazy good food, surfing, beach activities, horse back riding, night life, a movie theater (if you have small kids you know how much you don't go in those much anymore), and even a couple places to get some good gelato. When you aren't doing any of those and more, you're relaxing in a super nice, clean, fully furnished and prepped house, just like it was your own.... with a pool!! (FYI, hardly anyone, or anywhere in CR has a pool that you will have all to yourself), 100yds from one of the best beaches in the world... yes, we've seen and been to a lot of beaches. When we come back, we know that there is more than enough space to bring the kids and grandparents as well. So go spend some time trying to get the cheapest flight, or rental car, etc., and rest easy knowing that you picked THE BEST place to take your vacation in CR."
