  • Spacious and convenient location

"We are very happy with our choice to stay at this property during our 5 night stay in London. We could easily walk to Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abby, The London Eye, and it's about 20-25 minute walk to Covent Garden and the theaters. Directly next to the apartment is the St. James Park tube station which is the district/circle line and goes to all the top spots along the Thames, and Victoria station was only about 10-15 min walk away. We used the tube to go everywhere on our trip using the Oyster Card. We even used the tube to go to Heathrow on our last day. It was 1 hour door to door and cost us each less than $5. The location is more of a business neighborhood and not a residential area, so many shops and little restaurants closed on Saturday and Sunday, but Victoria Street was 2 streets away and everything there was open. The lack of neighborhood charm was more than made up by the convenient location. The apartment fit our needs well and was great to have a kitchen and washer/dryer in the flat as well as the separate bedroom. One teenage daughter slept on the full size pull out couch and the other on the mattress of the rollaway cot. Two adults would have a hard time sleeping together on the pullout couch. The bedroom has 2 twin sized beds in it and those beds were comfortable. There is cable TV and WiFi. Like most flats in London there is no AC, but even though we were there in July, the temperature outside during the night was not hot so we were reasonably comfortable during the night. We closed the windows because of street noise, but there were 2 fans for each room for our use to keep us cool and provide white noise. The apartment is very clean and there were basic toiletries included (soap, shampoo, bath gel) as well as dish cleaning liquid. There were no paper towels or napkins, and no dishwasher detergent, so we picked those up at the convenient store next door. Mark provided helpful information about the neighborhood and his favorite sites as well as a few London guidebooks. Paying via VRBO was really easy and it felt very secure. Mark provided the check in information including the address a few days early, and that worked out really well too. We had difficulties with the shower temperature control, and Mark promptly sent the friendly housekeeper to adjust the temperature and solve the problem. I would recommend this apartment to a friend."
