  • Once again, Chez Ellen delivers!

"Loved the house and village so much we came back a year later. Everything was as awesome as we remembered. This time we spent a bit more time at the house, even cooking once or twice, and loved it. Eating (or spending any time really) on the balcony is a treat for the soul. Lots of day trips to the beautiful countryside made the experiences even better. Just like we said last year, "All in all, it was an amazing experience, and we are VERY looking forward to going back one day.""

  • A great holiday house

"Le Grand Tilleul is a beautiful stone house surrounded by vineyards, beautifully restored and well equipped. It was very clean and well maintained. Better than the photos suggest. There is a very pretty covered terrace with views up to the Chateau Goult and great sunsets too. It was excellent for our party of 4 adults and twin 6 year old grand daughters. The girls loved exploring the gardens and the fenced off swimming pool is lovely and warm. Goult is very close by and has a weekly market, a few little shops and restaurants. It is well placed for visiting the surrounding hill villages, with a castle atop most of them, it was interesting for the girls too. The area has plenty to interest children, kayaking on the river Sorgue and the equivalent of "Go Ape" nearby were great hits with them. There are many good restaurants close by, our favourites being La Ferme de la Huppe just up the road and Cafe Veranda in Menerbes. A visit to Chateau Canorgue near Bonnieux for some good wine is recommended too. Jean-Pierre and Genevieve are excellent owners, very welcomming and nothing is too much trouble. While we were out on our our middle Sarurday the house was completely cleaned and the bedding changed. We have had several holidays in this area and this is the nicest place we have stayed, lovely house, lovely pool and well kept gardens in a wonderful area. Thank you Genevieve and Jean-Pierre."

  • Heavenly Provencal Stay

"Nothing could be nicer than a stay in this magical villa. Beautifully restored in a comfortable shabby-chic French country style, with gourmet kitchen, amazing great room fireplace, serene atrium, and enchanting top floor wine patio for relaxing or al fresco dining. Comfortable, airy bedrooms fully equipped to make you feel pampered. Set in a charming hilltop village, there is a fabulous vineyard (Chateau Saint Esteve de Neri) minutes away by car and a Michelin-starred restaurant steps from your door. Perfectly located for easy access to everything that Provence has to offer."

  • Beautiful home in a peaceful ancient village

"Our family, including 2- 11 year olds, had a wonderful time in this charming, beautifully decorated and well-located house. The setting on the side of the hill offers a lovely view over the countryside from the terrace. We had stayed in the house 13 years before and were happy to see that little has changed in either the house or the ancient village with its warren of narrow stone passageways and walls spilling over with bougainvillea, wisteria, jasmine and oleanders. Both the owner and caretaker were very helpful and anxious to do everything possible to enhance our stay. It was wonderful to spend the days sightseeing in nearby towns such as Roussillon, Lourmarin, Saignon, Fontaine du Vaucluse and Aix-en-Provence. We even went as far as Cassis on the coast where the kids hiked and swam in the Calanques. Returning home hot and dusty in the late afternoon, we looked forward to a swim, a glass of wine and a relaxing dinner of local specialties on the beautiful terrace in the cool of evening. Even though I would like to keep this place a secret, I can't recommend it highly enough."
