  • Once again, Chez Ellen delivers!

"Loved the house and village so much we came back a year later. Everything was as awesome as we remembered. This time we spent a bit more time at the house, even cooking once or twice, and loved it. Eating (or spending any time really) on the balcony is a treat for the soul. Lots of day trips to the beautiful countryside made the experiences even better. Just like we said last year, "All in all, it was an amazing experience, and we are VERY looking forward to going back one day.""

  • Beautiful home in a peaceful ancient village

"Our family, including 2- 11 year olds, had a wonderful time in this charming, beautifully decorated and well-located house. The setting on the side of the hill offers a lovely view over the countryside from the terrace. We had stayed in the house 13 years before and were happy to see that little has changed in either the house or the ancient village with its warren of narrow stone passageways and walls spilling over with bougainvillea, wisteria, jasmine and oleanders. Both the owner and caretaker were very helpful and anxious to do everything possible to enhance our stay. It was wonderful to spend the days sightseeing in nearby towns such as Roussillon, Lourmarin, Saignon, Fontaine du Vaucluse and Aix-en-Provence. We even went as far as Cassis on the coast where the kids hiked and swam in the Calanques. Returning home hot and dusty in the late afternoon, we looked forward to a swim, a glass of wine and a relaxing dinner of local specialties on the beautiful terrace in the cool of evening. Even though I would like to keep this place a secret, I can't recommend it highly enough."

  • Gracious Luberon Home

"This home was everything we expected: charming, spacious and perfectly located. The village of Ansouis is a gem, as are the town's people. And, the weather outstanding! We were two couples and we stayed the month of August. We enjoyed all aspects of the house, and in particular the roof terrace; perfect for reading, napping or sunning. The house is large enough that one could always find a spot to be alone. And, the kitchen allowed three of us to work, if necessary, without bumping into each other. The nearby villages were a short drive from Ansouis, making it easy to try new restaurants, shop or sightsee. Also, getting to towns like Aix-en-Provence, Arles, or Marseille was not difficult. My husband is an artist, and the countryside offered beautiful and inspiring vistas to paint, as did the village of Ansouis and the Chateau Ansouis. For artists, writers, or anyone looking for a true getaway I would highly recommend this home in the Luberon. The home's owner could not have been more helpful, before our arrival and after. We hope to return."
