  • Helens Hideaway

"Beautiful find - really nice apartment tucked away, down by the seashore - two minutes walk to shops/pubs etc. Perfect spot!"

  • Lovely traditional cottage in a great rural location

"A warm and cosy cottage close to beautiful coast and mountain scenery. The cottage would be quite small for six adults but was fine for four of us. The kitchen is compact but well laid out to make the best use of the space and the living area was bigger than we expected. The master bedroom was well sized with a very comfortable bed and wooden shutters at the windows which blocked out the light so effectively we slept better than we have for years! There's no TV, just peace and quiet, though there is WiFi if you need the 21st century. The shed was large and gave us good storage for bikes and outdoor gear. The location of the cottage is ideal if you like peace and quiet. It feels like it is in the middle of nowhere but it's quite close to Letterfrack where there are a few good pubs and restaurants plus a decent small supermarket. Clifden has lots of shops and a good sized supermarket, and is only a few miles away. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful beaches on the Renvyle peninsula and a boat trip to Inishbofin island. We ate lots of lovely food during our stay but I think the best was the shellfish stall on Letterfrack pier - just local mussels and clams, simply steamed and served on paper plates and eaten on a trestle table. It rained for most of our two weeks but we found our stay in the cottage and exploring the area very relaxing and enjoyable."

  • Great location in Clifden.

"Seating area and bedrooms all very nice; however the kitchen was very cramped and we were only four people. But overall very happy with location and facilities in the house."
