  • Fantastic Tenerife Rental in Puerto de la Cruz

"My wife and I rented Carlotta's apartment for one month. We are in our late 60's and had never been to Tenerife except one day off a cruise ship. The island is beautiful and there is plenty to do if the weather is good...we had poor weather. It was cloudy/rainy most of the time and in the 60's.We were told it was unusually bad weather...who knows? Better than New York! Anyway the apartment is really nice and exactly as described. Really nice kitchen, large dining room/living room. Two nice bathrooms, second bedroom adequate for 2 kids.A/C worked well in our bedroom.Washing machine worked well,no dryer. Each apartment on its own level,we are one floor up,elevator does NOT work .If you need one, do not come here. It is not an issue if you are in normal shape.Any issues, you can reach either Carlotta by phone or her brother locally. They are very responsive! Problems were taken care of ASAP. The town is an old fashioned fishing village out of 1900. No movies, bowling alley etc. Apartment is one block from the harbor and there are two modern supermarkets within one block. Right across the street is a great little bakery. Around the corner is the center Plaza, where all the action in town takes place. Seems safe at all hours.Within 10 minute walk probably 50-75 good restaurants. Plenty of small shops. You can walk most of the town in half an hour except the part up the mountain. 15 minute walk to a MAGNIFICENT town pool complex or town beach. 10 minute taxi ride to Lorque Parque which is world class tourist destination (like Sea-World). To go anywhere else on the island is a trip. I do not advise renting and driving a car. Taxis are expensive to go out of town, but cheap in town. Bus transportation is very good on the island, but distances are great. Takes 15 minutes to walk to the central bus station, then 45 minute express bus to the capital Santa Cuz. There are things to do and see there. It takes 2 hours to get to the white sand beaches in the south by public bus, which is a big trip. Overall we loved the restaurant scene in town, which had really good food and really good local wine for what we considered cheap prices. We would recommend renting the apartment, but you probably would want to limit the stay in Puerto de la Cruz to two weeks or you might become bored."
