Recent Sequoia, Kings Canyon reviews

  • Another great find from VRBO, on this Excellent vacation rental!!

"We just completed our amazing trip near the end of June. We are a family of 5 (kids aged 8,6,2), and were planning to see Sequoia, and Kings Canyon. My last visit to the parks were 30 yrs ago, so it was all new again to me, and wanted to plan the most memorable trip for my family. This vacation rental just put our trip over the top... So impressive! The home is very spacious, with lots of Windows, and great views! You can see the rushing river, and even Moro Rock. The place was very clean, comfortable, and private. No wifi, but we did fine. Nice patio/balcony, with grill was my favorite spot. We had 106*deg temps in Three rivers, but the AC worked well, and the river was cool. Up in Sequoia park, it was only 75*deg, so day time spent up there was perfect. Besides the Park, the little town has a market, and restaurants. The Lake is nearby too, good for boat rentals, fishing, etc. Another great help was the owner, Tom... And Sheila, the property manager, who shared so much great information and tips, it made it very easy to plan out the details and schedule for each day. Overall, excellent trip, thanks to the beautiful rental, and the people associated with it. Thanks for the great experience!"

  • Perfect Location!

"We really enjoyed our time at the house and had plenty of room. Melinda was very easy to work with and this location was perfect. It is between the Kings Canyon and the Sequoia National Park. We were able to cover both parks in one day. You will be hard pressed to find something better than this place!"

  • Great little cabin - good value

"The cabin location was great for enjoying the surrounding area. It was a quick 10 mile drive to the Trail of 100 Giants. Make sure you bring whatever food you need because there is almost nothing in the vicinity for supplies. The general store down the road was abysmal. Also fill up on gas in the valley and don't forget your linens. You are REMOTE. But this is exactly what we wanted and I was able to disconnect. No there was no wifi. I had to borrow wifi from the local realty office, but I also got to meet some very nice people there. Weather was fantastic. Breezy and cool in early June. We hung our hammock on the front porch and enjoyed many lazy hours there. Yes the cabin needs some maintenance, but it is cozy and comfortable. There were no dressers for clothes but we made due. This may pose more of a problem with a larger family (we had 5). For the price this was a good value, just make sure you are prepared. Read the information the owners send you and follow its advice. There are lots of great hikes and things to do. We hiked to the burned down fire watch tower which was awesome. We also attempted to find the water slides but were unsuccessful, I think it may have been too dry. Overall a great stay and the owners were very responsive and helpful. Our deposit was timely returned to us. We would stay again!"
