"We arrived at the cabin a few hours after she said it would be open for us, unfortunately all the doors were locked. There's no cell service in town so we considered going to the neighbors first, but the boyfriend wanted to go to the general store instead. That was a lucky break because the general store clerk knew exactly who managed and owned the property so she called each of them. There was no luck reaching them but she also knew who was cleaning the property and it had just been cleaned that day according to the clerk. We got a hold of that person and got the key within 20-30 minutes of arriving at the store. In the meantime, the boyfriend went over to the tavern and made some friends with some other HomeAway travelers. They were very nice. The property is very adorable inside. The saloon is one of the best features for sure. It is outdoors though because it's just a covered patio, but it was great plus there are two heating elements and lots of bar lights! :) The store clerk told me to "Beware" because once the lights are on everyone knows the "bar is open" haha! That made me smile for sure. The only downsides: -takes a while for the whole place to be heated thoroughly (do NOT close any bedroom doors if you want to use them later, make sure the heat gets to them all) -there was no toilet paper but the property manager didn't let us know we needed to bring our own -there's only a claw foot bathtub with a spray nozzle attachment and the hot water goes FAST I mean like the tub gets full 1/4 and it's gone -the satellite doesn't always have reception because of weather so plan on bringing dvd's, usb drives, etc and make sure they work if you want other entertainment for the times when you're in the cabin -the smoke detector in the kitchen goes off for almost any reason when using the oven/stove Other than those things I would say now that I've learned some about the cabin I would most likely stay again. :) It was a nice, cozy, snowy weekend and I loved it!"

  • Picture perfect home with the best views

"We stayed at the Ranch Getaway the weekend of MLK with my family and friends. The home is exactly as described and better. We have a 15 month old baby, and it was great to let him roam around the plush carpet in the family room and master bedroom. All the rooms are neatly organized, with fresh clean linens. Even though we took our own toiletries, the bathrooms were nicely stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash which I thought was great. The best part of this home, are the views from every window! It is so relaxing to just look out into all the orange groves, and property while cooking meals in the kitchen. The dining room accommodated our large party, and it was nice to eat dinner as a group. Our last day here we picked oranges from the trees, and they were delicious! Lastly, it was great to have our pets with us. They enjoyed running all over the property, and exploring the grounds. I hope to return to this beautiful and peaceful home in the summer. Thank you Steve for a wonderful experience and stay in your home!"

  • A quiet retreat among the trees

"The cabin provided a memorable, unique and relaxing outdoor experience for my husband and I, son and his family. We took full advantage of the trail guides and other information supplied, returning each day to our clean, well-stocked and comfortable cabin. Best of all was the generous deck enjoyed mornings and evenings complete with wicker chairs and round table, while listening to wind sounds through the pines."
