  • What a great house!!

"This was our family's first trip to Avalon, and we loved it. A critical part of our wonderful experience was staying at this house. SO highly recommended! The house is incredibly charming (built in 1924, with many original features) home looking over the harbor and the iconic Avalon casino. It is very spacious and comfortable. We were 9 adults, and had plenty of room to be together while also having privacy in the bedrooms. The kitchen and dining room and living room flow together very easily. The views are AMAZING. Location: The house could not have a better location, right above the harbor yet very private, and only 1/2 mile from the Avalon Casino. In between is the very special town that is Avalon, with shops and restaurants, ice cream and bakeries, and a feeling of stepping back in time to a gentler place. Everything is easy walking distance from the house. The House: The view from three sides of the house is spectacular, day and night. It was wonderful to wake up and watch the harbor come alive sitting in the living room with a cup of coffee and to enjoy the twinkling lights in Avalon in the evening. The kitchen is fully stocked, clean, and everything works well. The five bedrooms are all VERY comfortable. The three bathrooms had no issues with our large group, and the owner thoughtfully included soaps and extra toilet paper. The stairs: This is really not an issue. I was worried before booking, given past reviews and that my husband and I are nearing 60. Do not worry about these stairs, they are not challenging at all. Finally, the cost per night may seem daunting (it was to me), but it is actually a bargain. I did a lot of research into the options for hotels and B&Bs for our family trip. This house was economical in comparison, sight unseen. Now that we have been there, I can only say this: Lucky you if you have the opportunity to rent this house, as the experience is priceless."

  • Great option for Catalina

"Great location! It's an easy walk into town, but far enough that you're not bothered by the noise and crowds. Speaking of noise, due to the layout of the building and location of the condo (near the stairs and the elevator) you can hear everyone that walks in the hallways, so our first night we were woken up many times with people laughing and talking, and coming and going at all times (even with all the windows closed). There is a small pool and hot tub, very nice after a day of hiking and exercising! The condo itself is very spacious, with plenty of room to spread out. It's a two-story condo, with the living room and kitchen on the lower level, and master bedroom and bathroom, and second bedroom (two twin beds) on the upper level. There is a second bathroom on the mid-level. There are two balconies, and the upper one offers a partial view to the ocean. Overall, the condo could use a little updating, especially some of the furniture and kitchen appliances, especially because it's such a great place otherwise. Some of the chairs and patio furniture are looking a little old and worn and could use a little TLC. But the condo was clean and definitely enjoyable, and all kitchen appliances worked. The only other downside was that there is no wifi. We were aware of that before renting, but still wish they offered wifi. Overall good condo and we recommend this condo and would stay there again."

  • Great Roof Deck and Location

"Had a fun weekend with friends on Eucalyputs. The roof deck was such a great place to hang out and plan the day on Catalina and using the dumbwaiter is fun. Close to town so you can walk to dinner and all the fun stuff in town. Also close enough to walk up to the hiking trails, so take advantage of that. Plenty of space for sleeping, not the ideal place to cook, but we weren't interested in cooking anyways. Would definitely return to this place! Thanks!"

  • Perfect little paradise

"We had such a great time in Marty's charming, well equipped house. The bed and couches were all very comfortable. It is conveniently located a block from the beach, shops and restaurants. His toy closet full of bikes, kayaks, chairs, floaties etc. was amazing and can't wait to use them next time. Marty was prompt in returning my texts too. Definitely booking for next year!"
