  • Awesome View! Private and Relaxing.

"This unit is our favorite Hamilton Cove condo. My wife and I live in Long Beach just a short boat ride away so we try to get over to Catalina three or four times a year. Although the island is close to home it definitely has a more relaxed atmosphere and feel to it. Great for extended weekend trips. Hamilton Cove itself is outside of town and is a gated community so it’s not so touristy busy. In fact, in the off-season is downright quiet. It’s built into the hillside and is like Mediterranean villas. We have stayed in a number of the other Hamilton Cove condos, but we always try to come back to this one. The view is breathtaking, not to high up and not too low down. You can see the ocean from every room. There are two French double doors from the living room and the alcove that go out onto the balcony. There is also a door from the master bedroom that leads out to the balcony. We always throw open all the doors as soon as we arrive so the balcony becomes part of living space. This condo is an end unit and we very rarely ever see anybody on the balcony next to it, so it has a very private feel even with all the doors open. Also, as an end unit there is a second small private patio (with a barbecue). This one has a fireplace which we didn’t get in most of the other condos. We noticed that the kitchen appliances and living room furniture were recently upgraded. The kitchen is outfitted well for cooking. One of the best things about this unit is the number of stairs. Hamilton Cove doesn’t have elevators. Some of the condos are literally 100 stairs away from the road. Carrying luggage and groceries up or down 100 stairs gets old fast. This unit only has four stairs (4!) to the road and is only about 20 yards to where the golf cart is parked. The golf cart use is included in the rental. This unit’s golf cart is much newer than most and even has a car stereo in it. It seats four so the trips to and from town are pretty comfortable."

  • Heaven

"This Hamilton Cove Condo is absolutely Heaven. The complex itself is beautiful and well maintained and reminds one of being somewhere in Europe, Greece, Italy. The unit carries this even further with Mediterranean colors, furnishings and accoutrements. The upstairs and downstairs are very privately separated such that you can't even hear the others TV. We stayed five nights with two couples and could be together or be apart with ease. The kitchen is well equipped and allowed us to BBQ and cook breakfast and dinners. The balconies are awesome and best was the view!!! We would reccomend this condo to anyone!"

  • What a great house!!

"This was our family's first trip to Avalon, and we loved it. A critical part of our wonderful experience was staying at this house. SO highly recommended! The house is incredibly charming (built in 1924, with many original features) home looking over the harbor and the iconic Avalon casino. It is very spacious and comfortable. We were 9 adults, and had plenty of room to be together while also having privacy in the bedrooms. The kitchen and dining room and living room flow together very easily. The views are AMAZING. Location: The house could not have a better location, right above the harbor yet very private, and only 1/2 mile from the Avalon Casino. In between is the very special town that is Avalon, with shops and restaurants, ice cream and bakeries, and a feeling of stepping back in time to a gentler place. Everything is easy walking distance from the house. The House: The view from three sides of the house is spectacular, day and night. It was wonderful to wake up and watch the harbor come alive sitting in the living room with a cup of coffee and to enjoy the twinkling lights in Avalon in the evening. The kitchen is fully stocked, clean, and everything works well. The five bedrooms are all VERY comfortable. The three bathrooms had no issues with our large group, and the owner thoughtfully included soaps and extra toilet paper. The stairs: This is really not an issue. I was worried before booking, given past reviews and that my husband and I are nearing 60. Do not worry about these stairs, they are not challenging at all. Finally, the cost per night may seem daunting (it was to me), but it is actually a bargain. I did a lot of research into the options for hotels and B&Bs for our family trip. This house was economical in comparison, sight unseen. Now that we have been there, I can only say this: Lucky you if you have the opportunity to rent this house, as the experience is priceless."
