  • Great view, clean, comfortable, and convenient.

"This was our third trip to San Diego and spending a little more to get out of a hotel and into this condo was well worth it. We would return to the rental again! Here is why: 1. It is located right on the beach with great views and sounds of the surf. Easy access to play in the sand! 2. The condo was clean, well kept, and furnished nicely. The king bed was softer than we are used to, but didn't keep us from a good night sleep. We loved the size of the condo and how much more spacious it was compared to a hotel room. We opened up the numerous windows on the beach side and kept them open the whole time to enjoy the fresh ocean air and sounds of the surf. The big couch was fun to lounge on while watching movies at night. The nice big kitchen counter was great to sprawl out all of our food and personal items on. The master bath was large and easy to share with my wife. 3. The complex has an enjoyable saline pool (our preference) and a hot tub to warm up in after a cool ocean swim. We also appreciated the warm shower near the pool to rinse off the ocean salt and the high powered foot spigot to clean our sandy feet off with. Being able to park our rental in a secure underground garage was reassuring too. 4. The condo is within walking distance to several really good places to eat: Sombrero's Mexican has a great California burrito and even just get their homemade tortillas for a treat; Katy's next door has tasty unique sandwiches; the Friday Farmers market at the pier is a must because their are several wonderful vendors there (craft donuts will knock your socks off); Par Amour at the pier has a fabulous jalepeno pretzel; the fish and chips at Barrels (in the complex) are very good - be sure to ask for the homemade chips with it; the espresso brownie at Babycakes is a must if you like chocolate; the Wave cafe has generous breakfast specials; and last and probably the best is IB Street Tacos - every taco we had was very, very good! The only downside is when we had guests above us for a day whenever they used their master shower it was disturbingly loud. It didn't even come close to ruining our stay though. We want to come back to this rental!"

  • Spectacular in Every Way for a November 5th Wedding Trip for a Family of 8

"Do the pillows look and smell fresh? Are the linens high quality? Is the home or hotel clean? I admit I am a bit germaphobic but this is how I judge a vacation rental. This spacious and lovely home passed the white glove test for me and I felt immediately at ease and comfortable. We admired the designer touches from the accessories, signed artwork, furniture, and updates in this well built home. We had 3 couples and 2 single relatives and the house never felt crowded. There were quiet spots for reading, couches to relax on, sunny places to sit on the deck, shady areas in the courtyard, and 3 TV's. The game room served as a bedroom for one young man who enjoyed the TV and games. When you plan on what to bring along for stay, don't worry about soaps, detergents, paper products, plastic wrap, spices, oil, because it's just like home and provided for you. Just bring groceries and beverages and you are all set. I wish my kitchen was stocked as well as this one; new dishes, great pots and pans, a variety of small appliances, and every utensil you can imagine. The large dining room table was our gathering spot in the morning as we planned out our daily excursions. The views were perfect and just what we needed, after coming from Minnesota and Arizona! THE OCEAN! The home, courtyard, and decks were all that we hoped for and more. We liked the keyless entry system and felt safe in unfamiliar surroundings. We fell in love with La Jolla and the California beaches that were nearby. My sons enjoyed golfing at Torrey Pines and the rest of us explored the small beach towns along the way up to Carlsbad. The wedding was held just 5 minutes away at the Martin Johnson house and grounds. The weather was perfect for an outdoor wedding in the late afternoon and evening. I would highly recommend early November for great weather and lack of crowds. Kimi and Mr. and Mrs. M. have a home to be very proud of. We agreed that this is the way to go for a family and much better than a hotel. Do the math! We even had a large 2 car garage and a driveway which is valuable in this tight, hilly area of La Jolla. I agree with all the 5 star reviews! Our family LOVED this home and it made our trip wonderful. We hope to return."

  • Amazing house, amazing view.

"What a beautiful house. Our family gathered there for a week and had a wonderful time. The pool and hot tub were great and there were lots or pool toys for the little ones. The view was truely amazing and the sunsets unbelieveable. The kitchen had anything you could ever need and with two smaller refrigerators besides the one large one, there was plenty of room for extras. We had a party one day and were able to carefully fit 8 cars in the circular driveway. There is no parking on the street. We stored lots of extras in the huge laundry room that has 2 washers and 2 dryers. The owner David is very nice and easy to work with. We loved the fact that there was a huge bedroom suite at the far end of the house where we put the teenagers."
