  • Seascape Escape in Mission Beach

"This 3 bedroom home met all expectations! For a family vacation with 7 adults and 2 children, the sleeping arrangements were perfect. The home was exactly as presented in postings. 175 easy steps to the beach boardwalk, a few more to the bay side. (The bay is great for viewing fireworks from Sea World.) It was nice to be in South Mission, the vibe was laid-back and quiet, and we were able to avoid the crowds North of us. Belmont Park was an easy 10 minute walk, and there are several small restaurants, a market and liqour store within minutes by foot. The living room is small, but opens up to a great patio, making your living space larger. The kitchen was well equipped, and the only thing we lacked was a good spatula, an easy fix. Having a two car garage is a BIG bonus. Sofa is showing a little wear, but we don't want perfect at the beach. It was comfortable and that's what we needed. It does not make into a sleeper, so don't consider using it as a bed. Nice TVs, but we didn't use them, except for a DVD for the kids. Master bedroom is on a second floor, but the stairs are easy, and you can close off the bedroom from the rest of the house. The master closet has been turned into a bedroom, perfect for a couple with kids. A super choice, close beach proximity, and relaxing location. We would book again."

  • Amazing House - Amazing View - Amazing Location

"Our family recently took a long California vacation and traveled from San Francisco down to Encinitas. By far, the house in Encinitas on Neptune Avenue was everyone's favorite place to stay. After multiple hotel rooms, in multiple cities, it was so nice to have our own house for a few days. Raquel's house is absolutely amazing. The view was incredible!!! I'm not sure if our favorite thing to do was sipping coffee on the deck in the morning and watching the surfers and the dolphins, or sipping wine in the evenings and watching the beautiful sunsets. My kids loved having the boogie boards and beach toys too. We ended up skipping Legoland on our last day and spent the whole day on the beach because no one wanted to leave the neighborhood. We actually found a place for the kids to take surfing lessons too. So much fun!! The walk to the beach stairs, Stonestep Beach, is only a short distance and very private. Everyone in Encinitas was so kind. We are a family of 7, and everyone slept comfortably in the house. Whole Foods was just a short distance away, so we quickly made ourselves at home and stocked up the kitchen so we could spend as much time at the house as possible. The only bad part was leaving. :( Thank you Raquel for offering your home. We had an amazing trip to California, and your house was the perfect ending. We hope to come back again!
