  • Cute beach house steps from the shore

"My family has been renting beach houses in Mission Bay for the past 6 years. This was the best one that we have rented. We liked having lots of space (Each child was lucky enough to have their own room) and we had our own room and private bathroom. I liked that there weren't any house keys, just a keypad to enter the house. Also, we were able to fit our Sienna minivan in the garage. It was a tight fit, but my husband was able to get it in there with NO scratches!! This is no easy feat for garages and parking spaces in the Mission Beach area. There were lots of games, chairs, beach toys, boogie boards, kitchen utensils for us to use. I felt the kitchen was well stocked and easy to use. We appreciated being on the second floor because we were able to get more of a breeze to help us keep cool, the only negative is that there weren't any screens (which isn't as big of a problem as first floor rentals, there are often a lot of flies at the beach), but, with all of the windows open you get a lot of noise from the alley below. There weren't any loud noisy neighbors, but the trash trucks two mornings and some random parents calling for their kids in the morning, cars driving by etc were loud in the house. This complaint isn't limited to this property, just a fact about being so close to other people in the Mission Bay/Mission Beach area. I would recommend this property to others. The owner was very easy to communicate with and was a delight to talk to on the phone while I was deciding to rent this property. She was prompt in returning our deposit."

  • Very clean and comfortable

"My family enjoyed this lovely home. The furnishings were very comfortable and kitchen was well-stocked. The beds were very comfortable. We especially enjoyed watching the waves from the master bedroom. There is plenty of space on the outdoor porch. We are locals but rent a beach house each year. The bikes were a bit rusted out. Fortunately, we had brought our own. I would definitely recommend this for a family stay. James was very quick to respond with questions and a small issue that we had with a leaking faucet."

  • Condo was very clean. Nicely furnished. Good location to shops and beach. View is very nice.

"The Internet connection was poor. It was important to us becsuse of work that it worked well and it did not. Parking for others to visit or coordinate getting together was very difficult."

  • Lovely Home in Old Del Mar

"We had a great visit at the Enchanted Cottage in Old Del Mar. The house is accurately portrayed in the photos, eclectic and quaint. It is EXTREMELY well stocked, easily the best stocked VRBO we have ever stayed at. We slept great, it was a treat to have three bedrooms (MUCH better than cramming in at a hotel). Even though it is a quick walk to the restaurants and shops in Old Del Mar the house is quiet at night. Every house has it's own rhythm, and this house is a "wake up early" kinda house, in the best sorta way, you roll over in bed and the sun is shining, the birds are singing, a breeze is coming in, you feel rested :), so you check the time, and it's 6:15 ...what?!, we don't have to get up, yay! Or you can get up, and sit for a bit relaxing in the garden, or happily get a jump on the day, or take an early walk to the beach to watch all the surfers (the beach is quite a walk away, uphill coming back). It's a great house to get some down time between adventures."
