  • Perfect place to stay

"Our group of 7 (2 teenagers and 5 adults) had a wonderful time at the condo. The space is excellent for midsize groups and we were able to comfortably fit our entire group on the patio for all of our meals. The condo is the ideal spot; close to the beach and the shops and restaurants in La Jolla Shores. We cooked all of our meals and the kitchen is well stocked and there is ample space in the fridge and pantry. There were lots of toys for the beach as well - chairs, surfboards, wagons - basically everything you need. The off street parking was awesome as we never had to worry about parking when we needed to go out. We would definitely stay here again. The managers provided ample information about things to do and were very responsive through the whole process."

  • A nice retreat minutes from the beach

"Overall our stay was quiet enjoyable and addressed the bulk of our needs. The Chens were quite accommodating. We needed a crib and/or pack n play for our toddler, which was provided on the premises. Being unseasonably cold, the house took a while to heat up and we had difficulty with the heating. Normally this isn't an issue in sunny SoCal, but we unfortunately experience a very cold evening. We were able to contact the Chens and clear up the confusion the next day. In La Jolla village there are numerous stores, restaurants, and cafe within walking distance to the VRBO and a nice playground at La Jolla beach. Galaxy Taco is a must and the Shore House cafe is a quaint coffee joint with a chill SoCal vibe. All in all our stay was very pleasant, and we highly recommend this VRBO for small families interested in visiting the area."

  • New La Jolla Listing

"The property is as depicted in the photos. No surprises. In some ways even better. The master is exceptionally large , and, like the living room , has unobstructed views of the ocean and La Jolla cove. Two other bedrooms also have full or partial ocean views. In all there are five bedrooms plus a study that is configured as a bedroom. Two of the bedrooms are downstairs adding additional privacy. The home is located in a quiet upscale community close to everything in La Jolla. The furnishings are adequate, comfortable, and appropriate for a rental property, especially for large family gatherings, but would not be considered a decorator's showcase. The house has a lovely courtyard sheltered from breezes from the ocean that provides a nice sunny place to have breakfast or lunch even in the winter. The house is of an interesting art deco design reminiscent of California in the 30's with various levels of gardens for sunbathing or reading while enjoying the ocean view. We had a very enjoyable stay. Jay"

  • Our second stay at this Beach Cottage

"Don't let the words Beach Cottage discourage you! This rental, though only 2 main bedrooms, has plenty of room. There is a third day bed in the sunroom upstairs. Ceilings are high and rooms are big. Three full bathrooms. Two with showers and one does have a tub for the little ones. Also a crib and youth seat. Joyce (the owner) & Marketta (her assistant) will answer any questions. Since our flight got in very late, I was able to ask for some groceries to be waiting. If you need anything (like extra toilet paper) they will provide. The beach is just across the road. Don't forget to visit Carolines (a café serving breakfast & lunch) very good but can get busy on occasion. Town is just a few blocks away. Several restaurants there. But to be honest, we spent two weeks here and cooked all our meals except one. Kellogg Beach with playground is a short distance walk. Property is quiet. I definitely recommend!"
