  • Great location; very attractive, rustic, comfortable house/compound

"My wife and I hosted a Memorial Day weekend family get together for our sons and their families, as well as for several nieces and nephews. The Colby house is a perfect spot for such a gathering, with ample rooms, a spacious out door deck, a tennis court, and lovely tree-lined lawn for kids (and adults) to play. The facilities remind me of an Adirondack-style "camp" with rustic rooms, wooden deck furniture, a spacious "grand room" with comfortable easy chairs and sofas, and dining room table and chairs, a large fireplace, and many games for children and adults. There are many terrific hikes nearby in Pt. Reyes National Seashore, as well a child-friendly beaches on Tomales Bay. The grocery store and restaurants in the very small town of Inverness is within easy walking distance, while larger Pt. Reyes Station is only minutes away by car."

  • Peaceful cottage close to hiking

"Robin's Nest was perfect. We were two couples, visiting the Pt Reyes area to hike. The cottage has two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. One has a private bath with shower, and the other has a bathroom across the hall with large bathtub (no shower). There is also a separate small cottage at the back of the property with a double bed and private bathroom with shower. Beds were really comfortable. The living room was really comfortable, with lots of seating and even a window seat/bench where you could sit and enjoy the view. We normally would not care about the TV, but it was nice to have it so we could watch a travel video to help plan a trip we're sharing. There is a nice deck where you can read or have coffee and enjoy the views, and seating in the sweet little garden in front. Kitchen was small but functional. We just used the coffee maker and microwave, but looks like there is everything there to cook if you want. The cottage is in Inverness Park in a neighborhood. Street is narrow, but there were two parking spaces assigned to the cottage. Location is close to Pt Reyes visitor center and a small market. Grace was super to deal with. We never met her, as she gives you directions and how to get into the house when you rent. It was nice to be on our own timetable and not have to meet anyone at a specific time. We come to Pt Reyes area to hike every year and would definitely stay in Robins Nest again. We highly recommend it."

  • Beautiful spot surrounded by nature and wildlife

"Helen's House is a cozy home with a great view onto Tomales Bay. Comfortable beds, all amenities were provided and it was very clean. Jeff and Barbie were friendly and helpful. I will recommend this place to my friends. We did a lot of hiking and rented kayaks from Blue Water Kayaking. There is so much to do and to see. Overall we had a wonderful and relaxing stay."

  • Beautiful space provided a lovely time with family, in a beloved family retreat...

"The Whitney House was the perfect spot for our family reunion vacation, we came from Seattle, Maine and Illinois, and met in this lovely place for 4 fantastic days. We had everything we needed! The fireplace was truly enjoyed, as it rained nearly everyday, and provided a wonderful cozy backdrop for snack type suppers of magnificent local cheese, wine and beers. We enjoyed local restaurants, great views of Tomales Bay ,and hikes nearby. The home felt immediately like home, and fit us perfectly, my brother, a retired librarian delighted in perusing the extensive collection of books. The internet service was great, the owner responsive to our special requests, delivering a package I sent ahead when we first arrived. If you are looking for something chic and 5 star this may not be the place for you, but if you are craving a warm, inviting, rustic space this should fit the bill perfectly! Can't say enough good things about it."
