  • Perfect for a Friends Vacation

"We stayed with 3 other couples (4 couples total) and had a total blast! The kitchen had all the utensils and pans you need, and even had quite a bit of "pantry" stuff left over from others who have stayed recently. The wifi is really great--we were able to stream music and some "karaoke" videos from youtube :) The hot tub was perfect in addition to the deck and lovely scenery. We hiked 2 different trails, Crags Trail (about 20 min away, trail took us about 3-4 hours) and Horsethief Park Trail (about 5 min away, trail took us about 2 hours and includes a waterfall). Horesethief Park Trail is a fairly easy hike and would be ok for younger kids. Crags Trail was definitely more difficult. We traveled into Divide/Woodland Park for dinner and shopping one night. There are lots of places to grocery shop in addition to some cute smaller shops with clothes, antiques, etc. The owner was very quick to respond during the booking process. There were clear instructions for getting into the house and using it. We didn't need to contact him during our stay, but his phone number was clearly posted if we had needed anything. The one downside was that none of us had cell phone reception at the cabin (or for about 5-10 miles surrounding it). We had AT&T & Verizon (not sure if anyone had anything different), FYI. Many of us have wifi calling & texting on our phones, so that worked just fine while we were at the cabin. We just were unable to use our phones during our hikes. Not anything the owner can do about that, but just something to know before you go! The cabin was perfect for us--not too big, not too small. We enjoyed every minute of our time!"

  • Loved our Cabin in the Woods

"Perfect cabin for our first ever Colorado Vacation. It was everything we expected and more. The location couldn't have been better -- easy access to all the wonderful sight-seeing attractions nearby. The kitchen was fully furnished and even though we planned to cook/grill, we never did. Our 25 year daughter swiped the upstairs so the husband and I had the bedroom downstairs. Oh well, closer to the bathroom that way!! ha Enjoyed watching a momma deer and two babies on a daily basis. I know the sign says "don't feed the wildlife" but that's really hard to do when the momma deer walks right up to the deck and with those pitiful eyes, begs for a small treat !! By the way, she really liked fig newtons !! After long days of walking, it was nice to relax in the evening and put on a couple movies. Very nice variety. A big thanks to Lauren with Red Door Vacations for all her assistance in helping with our reservation -- smooth and easy. Once again, thank you for a wonderful stay in your lovely cabin. Hope to visit again in the future."

"My husband and our three children stayed for two nights at Buffalo Sunrise Lodge. The house is spacious, well-kept and lovely; included two bedrooms, two full baths, washer and dryer and a kitchen with anything you may need. The deck on the front of the house was perfect any time of the day and overlooks the lake/gazebo in Green Mountain Falls. The town of Green Mountain Falls is a little village and is incredibly charming and friendly. We enjoyed eating at the Pantry (delicious breakfast!) and the Blue Moose for live music and dinner just a short walk down from the house. We also hiked from the house to two nearby waterfalls and the view from the top was amazing! Couldn't have asked for a better family vacation, and we hope to come again to Buffalo Sunrise Lodge! Would recommend for families or a girls/guys trip to anyone. Nan was friendly and responsive - everything we needed was provided to us in the home. Thank you!"

  • Peaceful mountain getaway

"The property is beautiful, surrounded by trees and mountain views. The cabin itself had so much natural light with floor to ceiling windows. We visited during a snowy time so weren't able to enjoy the deck, but look forward to returning during warmer months. The cabin was clean and comfortable, and we really appreciated having the washer and dryer. It was also a huge relief to have a cleaning crew - we still left the cabin in conditions similar to how we arrived, but to not have to do the deep cleaning at the end of the stay (bathrooms, bed linens, etc) was a great relief compared to other places we have stayed. It is hectic enough trying to pack up a family and kids - so not having to worry about the deep cleaning was a bonus!! I recommend this as a great mountain experience - nearby several attractions such as Seven Falls, Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs, Pikes Peak..."
