  • Rocky Mountain Gold

"I come to Colorado every year to ride ATV's when the Aspens turn gold. This was a great location for us because there was excellent parking for my truck, trailer, and 5 ATV's. There is also enough room for a large RV to park with a 50 amp elec. hook up, which I had planned on using but my RV broke down and ultimately didn't make the trip. Thomas the owner, even offered to let me stay an extra day when I got in a day late when my RV broke down. The owners were very nice and easy to work with and provide a lot of information about the area. The cabin is in a perfect location in the small town of Pitkin, it sits above a creek that runs thru town that you can fish for trout in the back yard. The cabin itself is very unique with lots of books on the history of the area, and just about anything you can think of hanging on the walls, like when you go in a Cracker Barrel Restaurant but in a good way. You just need to sit down in the living room and look around and you will notice something different everyday. The stairs going up to the bedrooms and bathroom are more like a ladder than stairs. My mother who is 78 years old and in excellent shape was able to manage them without problem, but her 78 year old boyfriend could not because of a bad hip. This is one thing to consider with this rental but I was informed of this the very first time I contacted Thomas it is not something they are trying to hide it is just how the cabin is. I slept in the master bedroom which has plenty of room, I don't know how old the mattress is, I would guess old because it sinks down in the middle quite a bit but I still slept great. The bathroom was small but nice, clean and newly remodeled, with nice towels, shampoo and soap. The only place you can bathe is in the upstairs bathroom, there is only a toilet down stairs but no complaints, I new this going in. Thomas's father met us on arrival and gave us a walk thru explaining everything like the wood stove and general information which was helpful, usually you just have a book explaining the rental, which they also have but it was nice to have an explanation in person. This is not a high end hotel or resort style property, it is a rustic, unique, well used, clean, authentic family cabin that I will recommend to my friends, and if I come to the area again I hope to be able to stay in again. The area is great for ATV's, hiking , biking, hunting and just being in the outdoors. Thank you Thomas for sharing your family cabin with my family."

  • Wonderful!

"We had an amazing stay at Eagle River Ranch! Nancy was a gracious host and it was such a pleasure to be staying at this hidden gem off the beaten trail. The views were fantastic and the accessibility to surrounding areas was easy. We definitely hope to stay in the future!"

  • Views and Amenities galore

"We stayed at this house for a birthday trip with 11 adults for 5 nights. The house was perfect, even for this large of a group of adults. The house was easy to find and the instructions for accessing the house were simple. Everything was clean and well maintained and there were plenty of extras (chairs, pillows, linens, etc). We only went out to dinner 2 times because the kitchen was so easy to cook in and after a long day of skiing, staying in by the fire sounded great! Access to the lifts was also extremely easy. You could walk or park your car close to the base of Goldlink lift and ride the mountain all day! All in all, I was extremely happy with our stay and recommend this property for anyone looking at a trip to Crested Butte."

  • Never wanted to leave!

"Such a beautiful place to spend our vacation! The stars at night were amazing. We loved waking up to the cool mornings and the sound of the horses in the pasture. The fire pit each night was great for s'mores. We spent lots of time on the porch swing enjoying the mountains, looking for wildlife. When you are out on the porch you can always hear the stream that runs through the property. It is so relaxing. The drive into Crested Butte is convenient. But we still felt like we were out in the woods. The kitchen is well equipped, making it a joy to cook for my family each morning with the cool air coming through the windows. The bedrooms are large and comfy, the living and dining areas are roomy as well. I wish we had stayed longer. If we had it to do over again, I would have done less away from the cabin and stayed right there and relaxed more...Thanks for sharing your beautiful place with us. We loved it."
