  • Wonderful!

"We had an amazing stay at Eagle River Ranch! Nancy was a gracious host and it was such a pleasure to be staying at this hidden gem off the beaten trail. The views were fantastic and the accessibility to surrounding areas was easy. We definitely hope to stay in the future!"

  • Rocky Mountain Gold

"I come to Colorado every year to ride ATV's when the Aspens turn gold. This was a great location for us because there was excellent parking for my truck, trailer, and 5 ATV's. There is also enough room for a large RV to park with a 50 amp elec. hook up, which I had planned on using but my RV broke down and ultimately didn't make the trip. Thomas the owner, even offered to let me stay an extra day when I got in a day late when my RV broke down. The owners were very nice and easy to work with and provide a lot of information about the area. The cabin is in a perfect location in the small town of Pitkin, it sits above a creek that runs thru town that you can fish for trout in the back yard. The cabin itself is very unique with lots of books on the history of the area, and just about anything you can think of hanging on the walls, like when you go in a Cracker Barrel Restaurant but in a good way. You just need to sit down in the living room and look around and you will notice something different everyday. The stairs going up to the bedrooms and bathroom are more like a ladder than stairs. My mother who is 78 years old and in excellent shape was able to manage them without problem, but her 78 year old boyfriend could not because of a bad hip. This is one thing to consider with this rental but I was informed of this the very first time I contacted Thomas it is not something they are trying to hide it is just how the cabin is. I slept in the master bedroom which has plenty of room, I don't know how old the mattress is, I would guess old because it sinks down in the middle quite a bit but I still slept great. The bathroom was small but nice, clean and newly remodeled, with nice towels, shampoo and soap. The only place you can bathe is in the upstairs bathroom, there is only a toilet down stairs but no complaints, I new this going in. Thomas's father met us on arrival and gave us a walk thru explaining everything like the wood stove and general information which was helpful, usually you just have a book explaining the rental, which they also have but it was nice to have an explanation in person. This is not a high end hotel or resort style property, it is a rustic, unique, well used, clean, authentic family cabin that I will recommend to my friends, and if I come to the area again I hope to be able to stay in again. The area is great for ATV's, hiking , biking, hunting and just being in the outdoors. Thank you Thomas for sharing your family cabin with my family."

  • Great Location/Beautiful Surroundings/Lots to Do

"This cabin is situated in beautiful Taylor Canyon and in a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature or take advantage of all the outdoor things there are to do; hiking, rock climbing, water rafting, fishing, horseback riding. A nice place to make day trips to Taylor Reservoir, Tin Cup, Crested Butte, and Gunnison. There are enough activities around here to please all ages. We really enjoyed the well appointed kitchen with a view. We took advantage of the nice grill on the upper deck. We also enjoyed having cups of coffee out there. We appreciated the fact that the main living area and kitchen are on the second floor so you have a nice view with a full wall of windows. We hope to come back and experience it in the winter. The house is very comfortable and clean. We would recommend and will stay here again. We especially enjoyed how responsive and easy to work with the owners are."

  • Great!

"We loved this house! It was awesome for our large group! The only thing I might offer is that they could improve their selection of utensils and kitchen ware. For example, there were no large spoons or ladles and there was no pitcher that we could use to make tea. But besides that it was wonderful. Large spacious rooms and great layout. Loved the balcony and living area."
