"We had a very enjoyable week at Amelia Island. This was our 4th visit to the Island. The condo was mostly as advertised and accommodated our needs well. It was nicely decorated, comfortable, well-equipped, and has great views from the living room and balcony. The cable service was basic and lacked the premium channels HBO and Showtime as advertised, but only a minor disappointment. Overall, we had a great time and will return to the Island in January. We would definitely consider this condo again. I do hope the owners try harder to respond a little faster to inquiries. Two phone calls were not returned for 2-3 days.
Our children and grandchildren were at the Island staying in different condos close by so we had lots of group walking, hiking, and bike riding adventures. The Island is a paradise for these activities. We also appreciated the quick access to the pool and the beach where we spent a lot of time swimming and fishing. Even though it was summer vacation prime time, the pool or beach was never too crowded.
Unfortunately, our restaurant adventures were not so special. After a group hike of Fort Clinch early one morning we were all looking forward to a great breakfast at Jack and Diane’s. What a big disappointment. Save your money; McDonald’s has a better breakfast. Dinner at Peppers was mediocre. Pizza at Pi’s, which was excellent on previous visits, was most disappointing. My daughter and family were with us and we ordered two large pizzas, both of which were served with scorched black crust. I’m glad to say that Café Karibo continued to excel as did the Fantastic Fudge ice cream shop nearby."
