  • Still here, still like it

"As anybody probably would, I was a bit nervous after reading the negative review below. After all, we had booked this house for the entire month of July with our two small children. When my husband and I walked through the front door and actually SAW the house, however, we kind of turned to each other and said, "Oh now, c'mon!" This house is great. For starters, it's huge. I am talking -you-can't-even-hear-the-people-on-the-other-side-of-it big. The living room/dining room are very spacious and the kitchen is well-stocked. I KEEP finding "goodies" to use, like a crock pot, blender, etc. It has everything we need. (FWIW, we come every summer, for most of the summer, and this is the first house that had a well-stocked spice cabinet.) The master bathroom is beautiful. I LOVE the large bathtub with jets. That is, WHEN I am able to run the kids out of it. My 9-year-old son has pretty much moved into it. Everything works: TVs, internet, lights, garage door, A/C, etc. No problems there. Downstairs has tile so it's super easy to clean up stray sand that we track in. The vacuum cleaner is the best I've never seen. No kidding. I put on an attachment brush, to clean sand off a couch, and I figured, you know, it's not going to be THAT strong. My attachments never are. Well, I lost control of it because I wasn't paying attention and it ate my long hair all the way up to my scalp. My husband had to "free" me (after laughing and taking copious pictures, first). Seriously, I looked up the brand because I now want one myself. The location could NOT be better. My son and I always bring our bikes and ride tot he village and beach but this house is so close to both that you can walk. Even better, this year our 5-year-old brought HER little bike and yesterday SHE was able to ride to the village for ice cream with us. We've never been that close before. It's about a 15-minute casual stroll or 10-minute bike ride. If you catch the right tide on the 11th street beach access point you can literally be to the beach in 3 minutes. It takes longer to load us all into the car than it does for the actual drive. Brandi herself is a pleasure. Seriously. I have mostly dealt with property managers here and, while friendly, they've all been kind of cold and business-y. Working with Brandi is like borrowing you girlfriend's awesome summer house for the month. I literally have nothing bad to say about this place. We've loved it here."

  • Awesome Place!!!

"What a perfect way to spend a week!!! This cottage is very nice!!! My family and I couldn't get enough of the rich history of the island. The first day I walked through the door of this cottage I felt at home. I especially like the picture at the top of the stairs. Fast women, fast boats, St. Simon's Island. Thank you so much for making this a vacation that my family will never forget. We plan on spending many more summers here. Thanks again for a wonderful place the stay"

  • Beautiful home. Perfect for large family.

"Our family of 9 adults and 2 teenagers live in four different states. One week each summer, we come together for our annual family vacation. We unanimously agreed that this was our best vacation ever! This house was perfect for us. We had a great time at this beautiful, well-equipped home. It had everything we could possibly need, including an elevator. It was clean, spacious and well decorated. I would wholeheartedly recommend this home 100%."

  • Incredible view from Sea Gift

"We used to live at SSI, and have vacationed here for years, so we know the island well. Of all the places we have stayed, we liked the location of Sea Gift the best. I accumulated may good memories just sitting on the great front porch, soaking up the view of Cumberland and Jekyll to the south, reading, and watching storms come up the coast. The village is a short five minute bike ride. The south end of east beach is right across the street. At low tide you can walk all the way up East Beach. Even at high tide you can walk south towards the village. The main traffic on Oceanview Drive is pedestrian or bicycle. The house is beautiful. Well appointed, modern kitchen and very comfortable beds. The very private pool and back deck, both well shaded, are a great place to slow down, escape the summer heat and avoid crowds totally. We hope to return."
