Recent Islands at Mauna Lani reviews

  • Very nicely kept up property with the necessary amenities.

"We have owned similar units at the Islands at Mauna Lani in the past and this property is very similar. It shows an attention to detail in how it is maintained and the owners are interested in recommendations for improvements to the facility. The Islands is a very attractive community with lush landscaping and a wonderful pool and spa area. It is close to all Mauna Lani facilities which are available to owners. The units are very well constructed as opposed to some of the more recent properties on the grounds of the Mauna Lani. We would consider renting this unit again the future."

  • Wonderful Mauna Lani Palm Villas rental -- steps to the pool

"Our family (including two parents, two young kids, and a grandparent) was wowed by this beautiful ground floor condo at Mauna Lani Palm Villas. We were so glad to have this place to call "home" when we arrived, driving here from Kona Airport, exhausted by our 14-hour journey from New England. It is very clean and comfortable, and has air-conditioning for those hot afternoons! The unit has 3 BR, 2 BA, very well laid out. It was so convenient to have a washer-dryer in unit, for use after trips to the beach and pool. The lanai/patio adjacent to the golf course, was a favourite place to gather in the early mornings to eat breakfast and watch the sunrise. The garden is beautiful and features lush green tropical foliage, coconut palm trees and flowering plants. We saw several geckos and one huge praying mantis when we were there! The kids enjoyed playing in the garden, and in the huge driveway in front of the house. The unit is steps to the pool and the kids really enjoyed walking over to play in the pool. We also drove to the Mauna Lani Beach Club, and enjoyed swimming in the protected cove. It's great to be able to park at the "owner's/renter's" lot, which is so close to the beach. It's only a 10-15 minute drive to Mauna Kea beach, arguably one of the most beautiful, and relatively secluded beaches in the world! The boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella in the garage, so generously provided by the owners, were wonderful to use on our trips to the famous Kohala coast beaches. We drove to the Hilton Waikoloa, Kawaihae, Hawi, Keokea beach park, Pololu Valley lookout, Waipio valley, and we would have loved to have gone snorkeling at Kua Bay/Captain Cook (but we simply didn't have the time for that). We felt lucky to have called this rental "home" in this magical place on earth, and felt sad to have to leave. We would certainly rent this unit again if/when we return to the Kohala coast of the Big Island."

  • Mauna Lani, The Islands

"It's easy to have a good time in Hawaii. The living is gracious at this luxurious villa located in a well maintained gated community with amenities, including resort beach access. Just a walk away are shops and restaurants as well as fitness, tennis and spa facilities. Our group enjoyed the stay immensely from daily cooling in the ocean and near-by pool, to dining out and "at home" on tropical evenings. Day trips to the volcanos, the observatory and the two main cities on the island, Kona and Hilo were memorable. We also found the quiet of the off season in early May much to our liking. We highly recommend it! Nancy & Charles Slagorsky Calgary, Alberta, Canada"

  • Love this vacation home!

"Wish we could give 6 stars. This home was a lovely paradise. Fully equipped kitchen, wonderful large bedrooms, bathrooms and living space in general. Loved the beautiful furnishings with a relaxed feeling. The pool area with the grills, whirlpool and waterfall just steps from the house was perfect. Loved the artisan hula girl lamp downstairs...umm we ran across the artist in Kona and one will be arriving soon! :) We highly recommend this for an extended family with kids and grandkids or 2-3 couples."
